What are those shit smeared backgrounds, i mean come on, 3D Clown? Amusement park ?i would go easy on Capcom if it wasn't throughout the whole game, this is just fucking obnoxious. in the first MVC game the places were imaginative and had reason to be there as part of the world the characters came from, even kids like me who didn't knew about Mega Man could get into it, all seemed logical. But my gripes with MVC2 are only on the surface, In order to concentrated a fart of *56* characters that most are bear-bones blank slates i mean come on, Iron Man and War Machine ? Really ?, at least Roll and Mega Man look different and the numerous reused characters has very different play styles in MVC1. everyone who played the Second game, will pick 15-17, at the very least, of the playable roster, when playing again (then what's the fucking point of the bigger roster?), and most of them feel the same that it desensitize the player from liking anyone of them, MVC1 had so little characters but had much more to them, they were unique, had more animations, different color schemes, and having a Theme Song as any of them enter a fight helped the player wanting to play more, and when i am on the subject of music, all we have in MVC2 memorable is - "i wAnNa tAkE yOu fOr A rIdE" looping over and over again throughout hours and hours of gameplay, i mean i love the MVC series but this is just insultingly lame, and eventually i find myself muting the game in order to keep myself from headbutting my TV into pieces and causing severe head trauma. i think someone was living in the 1980s, when 8 bit games had only 3 second loops of Background noises to fill the silence. seriously, i love Capcom, but it's like people there making conscientious effort not to be original after the first MVC, not talking about these days.
and let's not talk about the lack of good Announcer, Lack of Combo Finish Names when you win the round with a Hyper Finish, Lack of Animation when Supper are performed, and the lack different varieties of combining supers, that play role in making a fun game.
