    I hope the Arcade Manager would change his mind to trust us modding the pads with this method. It's really useful, thanks for the information.

    I hope every arcade manager watches this video, the ignorance of arcade staff when it comes to modding arcade machines, they will react the same way as if you told them you built your pc. it's kinda sad that people have to buy their own machines just to show arcade managers how it's done and how easily you can get high level performance. and the risks? if you are super clumsy you might break a connector, drop water on the panel boards or something but remember that those machines were created to survive the most ferocious stomps by children and adults alike so everything in there won't break unless you really want it to.

      look, pad modding is an art and it's hard to find the information. And it's especially hard to know the art if you don't play

      For techs, if it lights up it works, also if you say they dont register they will say stomp harder! I hate them so much

      At my local arcade I managed to get permission from the owners to mod the pads, so once in a while I would message one of the techs to let them know and spend some time pad modding. It's really great when an arcade can acknowledge and trust players to keep their machines in shape. Later on one of the techs offered me a job, saying I should put in my resume (I do other electronic stuff as well). Last time I modded pads I got payed to do it! That being said if techs aren't capable of doing it themselves, they should really elect someone within the community to do it for them.

      Jacob Pauls i know a place where they believe the pads need to be extremely close to the machine, also dont want to update the game because “it might break” i hate how dumb they can be sometimes even when the information is out there

    My local arcade technician used cut-up strips of outdated arcade game swipe cards when fixing their dance pads.
    Now I know why; thanks for that.
    I miss seeing your PIU content, by the way!

    Excellent guide! Just been using this to mod a relatively new LX machine. I actually found myself using the indoor tape on the corners to prevent wiggling since I didn't have outdoor tape and it works surprisingly well! Will see how it performs in future though

    This video is really good, you should do a vid where you explain how to change the GX style pads to TX ones, I see everyone DOINg that I dont really know how to do it

    • @ThatFuckinGame
      @ThatFuckinGame 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You buy the TX switch frames, you replace the old switch frames. you buy new TX acrylics and you install your sensors in the new frame. Not really that complicated honestly, the art of modding the pad for the right sensitivity and feel it's the tricky part IMO

    • @rawrtravisrawr
      @rawrtravisrawr 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He already has the new style pads so can't imagine him doing that but there is a video out there that explains it on the center panel. Same process for them all, did this recently to my pads and it's just time consuming

    Bottom sensor for the yellow panel seemed like a must to me (because of the heel)... maybe I'm just used to bad pads which don't work. The top one might be the first one to take off, but it's kinda tricky. It's nice that you concluded which ones to turn off from experience.

    Instead of mounting tape, 1/16" neoprene weatherstripping is a great alternative. Only one side has an adhesive backing. Several online stores should have it available.
