    I want co-op UCS to be skinned correctly. I don't think the website is fixable, they need to hire new engineers because there's too many issues that the current engineers can't seem to solve. Other details they need to fix is when you drop in and out of rank mode, they need to remember where you left off

    I think Andamiro should care more about the dancefloor. When you try to play a step on a dancefloor that is freshly made and just got out of the factory, the gaming experience is a total nightmare and actions are usually "denied" which leads to unfair scores. Some Arcade-using advanced players in Korea have to inform arcade manager about the bad floor and apply their effort and supplies to "Tune" the floor. I don't think this is right. The company has to fulfill the customers' needs and minimize the inconvenience of the user. My English is bad so every meaning would not be delivered, but I hope some of you guys feel part of this unwarrantable feeling of dancefloor.

    3. as for the last one, I'm kinda indifferent with it because IIDX doesn't transfer scores each time new version comes out (clear lamp is transferred though). personally I find it alright to redo our scores each time new version comes out, but transferring the scores would be nicer.

    IMO what they could do is make like pentavision does with DJMAX and allow players logged in to configure speed modifiers by song, like you used AV 600 in Extravaganza, it will be recorded on this particular song, if you get like LIADZ song and use 4.5X, when you hilight that song the configuration will be recorded. It would make it easier and faster when it comes to replayability, shortening the time players use to configure a song's speed.

    I would be fine with scores not transferring IF they change the scoring system entirely, giving justification to nuking scores, but PIU's scoring system has been combo-based since at least when I first played the game back when Exceed 2 was new. PIU XX does not have monthly updates like Prime or Prime 2, and while additional charts for pre-existing songs are nice, I would rather see the staff go back and tackle the syncing on some of the songs. Even Konami tuned up a few songs here and there (Curus was especially horrible before getting patched in DDR A), and some charts even got quantization fixes (HDV, Bassdrop Freaks, Bag, which now has its old Heavy chart moved to Challenge), but then you have stuff that's completely hopeless like NGO, where no amount of "fixes" makes that shit sensible. When PIU switched to HD cabs, I remember there being A LOT of complaints about how bad the syncing on earlier charts were, along with songs that came from more "modern" non-KR versions (Gargoyle).
    I'm extending my syncing criticisms to how much of a garbage fire making user custom steps in StepEdit is because the offset on the tracks are set in a way to compensate for the machine's sound latency, so you're frequently having to make steps around a tenth of a second off sync from the music track in the editor, and if you attempt to correct this and forget to reset it back to the original offset, the charts will come out a desynced mess. StepEdit as a program is already extremely unintuitive and janky, but having to work with an audio source that does not come even remotely close to sounding on sync makes me wonder just how much mental discipline the chart designers possess to put up with it, and honestly, it explains why PIU charting is flooded with 8th hold streams and runs for days. I can't imagine how long it must have taken to make charts like Uprock CZ (back when the editor was probably even more archaic), Love Scenario S17, 86, etc. etc. Making no-nonsense charts already takes like six times longer compared to throwing something together in a simulator like SM or whatever, so hats off to the designers who can make ambitious gimmick charts without smashing their head against the wall until their skulls cave in.

    Got it in recommended so I guess it would be fun to go over after a year into Phoenix:
    1. Technically got fixed with the addition of judge timing? Still not a perfect solution since it requires players to know which songs are not synced and how to sync them back, but it's better than the nothing we have in many other games.
    2. The good news: ranked mode is gone for good as all scores above level 10 count into ranking
    The bad news: no way to track on what judgment a score was played on, giving no incentive to play on HJ unless that's what you like from the oldschool days or you're trying to somehow prove you're better than the top players.
    3. There are leaderboards for individual charts, hooray, but only for charts levels 20+ or co-op, and only top 100 which mostly gets filled by perfect scores anyway.
    There's also the newly released pumbility which is a step in the right direction, it basically takes your top 50 best scores on the levels you passed and forms from those a rank. It's a great incentive to pass and score better on harder charts and not just grind the whole song list, but it only tracks the top 1000, truly a missed opportunity to make an almost perfect ranking system for all players.
    And finally, no rivals, no way to see a specific player's scores, no tracking of broken scores, and the worst of them, no machine best, a huge andamiro moment if I've ever seen one, RIP.
    4. The website got a rework! Is it better, absolutely! is it good enough? eehhhhhhh... nope. I had to help a returning player to register his card to phoenix because the input field for the card ID could take more characters than possible and it would just insert random characters sometimes. Also why do we need to register on 2 different websites with the same account? The pump website also doesn't make it clear that you need to register on the AM pass website before, it's just throws you a random error of "You don't have an existing game ID" or something like that, truly understandable andamiro. Also I found in the scary way that you can have two cards on the same account and you can switch which one is used for your game ID.
    With the registration out of the way, the rest of the website is fine, it is much more usable but it still feels so limited, like only recent scores will show me what judgements I got in a score (but it doesn't show max combo) but only a certain amount of scores get saved for each account and old get replaced with the new, and the best scores only shows you what score and rank you got (which is better than nothing). You can't even see what scores you have on the leaderboards, kinda sad we have to depend on third party tools made by players to get this kind of information that is already out there.
    5. This was inevitable with the new scoring, the chart changes, the new accounts system, and after the huge messup with XX's scores I highly doubt anyone wants to depend on andamiro's database to be a good place to keep your precious scores for a long time. How hard can it be to save scores in a server?! Some machines don't even save scores right after gargoyle full was played and all andamiro's support will say to you is "ehh, network issue in your place" despite it being a thing that worked in XX! Is that how insanity feels like?
    I'll stop here because I think I rambled more than the video, so fix your game andamiro, this video is still relevant.

  • @Franksoua
    @Franksoua 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If ranked mode was to come back with a proper ranking system, I hope that it would at least let us use the Dark BG function. I thought that it would happen when they removed HideBG and put Dark instead but alas it did not.
    This sorta echoes your point made in a previous Video, but aside from the fact that I would like EX scoring, I wish they would at least make the scoring system more clear. An A or S barely means anything by itself, so it makes it hard to know what happened when revisiting a song. Like you mentioned, there should be an online platform where my breakdown is uploaded along with the score.
    The last thing might be because I come from a different rhythm game background and I only play doubles, highest pass being a few D22, so take it with a grain of salt, but I wish that bads would be removed or at least changed in some capacity. At best it barely punishes someone for mashing, and at worse it just makes you lose a combo because the local arcade has bad pads. And it's so easy to braze an arrow with a toe with the pads being bracketless I have more 'S' grades with 0 greats than I do 'SS' grades.

    Since machines are online now, I wonder if the offset problem can be detected in some statistical manner. Those charts in theory would have a much higher percentage of non-perfect judgements compared to other charts. Then, they would just need a few people to look at a few dozen charts to fix the most egregious ones.

  • @georgebraymusic

    Great list. It honestly felt really, really terrible having some of the cool features (ranked leaderboards, rivals, user play history on the website) outright REMOVED when XX came out. It's hard to say which of the items listed is more annoying or frustrating to deal with, but I suppose if I had to pick one, it would be the sync. I can't tell you how many times I have played a song I really enjoy on VJ, only to find that it is ABSURDLY late, or that the sync even seems to change over the course of the song. In Prime 2, I was very close to the world record on The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog s17 (16 in XX now I think), and then I would play something like Papa Gonzales and get a MILLION GREATS. It seems like the majority of old charts, and even some of the newer ones, just have absolutely HORRIBLE sync when you play ranked. I suppose the fact that there are no more leaderboards or world/regional best scores in the game does make it much more pointless to play ranked in the first place though. While on the topic of ranked, I've been tilted for years that Andamiro still hasn't figured out how to implement 2 player ranked mode. I know it's an issue with figuring out how to fail out one player while the person passing continues to play, but surely there's a way to do this. Another thing that has annoyed some of my friends is how co-op's work. In Infinity you could at least see a rating for charts (I know Infinity was a different dev team, different engine, completely different game from the Korean versions.) It would be really, really nice if Andamiro could figure out a way to not only show the number of players for each co-op, but give you an idea of its difficulty too. It's kind of a waste of time and money if you just have to play through each chart to figure out whether or not it's doable for you and your friends, and I know it is frustrating for people to fail out of their round early because they didn't realize how difficult a particular chart was. You shouldn't have to watch every chart on TH-cam just to figure out whether or not you can play it.
    Anyhow, I know Andamiro probably won't be fixing any of these issues any time soon. *Hopefully* seeing one of the most dedicated, popular, and best players in the world bring these issues up will give them a little motivation to at least THINK about fixing them. Hopefully, but I won't hold my breath. ._.

      uh what is Ex scoring system?

    • @e.c.b.
      @e.c.b. 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      EXpert Score (EX score) system is used in IIDX and DDR. For IIDX, PGreat is 2pts, Great is 1pt, then the rest zero. For DDR, Marvelous and OK is 3pts, Perfect is 2pts, Great is 1pt, then the rest zero.

    • @hsanrb
      @hsanrb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@e.c.b. Until combo breaks punish players, EX scoring is worthless in all rhythm games. Would be worse especially on doubles for Pump, where if your tasked with doing doubleM runs back and forth, at a high enough BPM players will start skipping arrows to reduce the accuracy drop on the rest of the measure. DDR is the only Konami rhythm game where the the system in which your scores are saved to the servers do not match what is used at a "competitive" level.
      IIDX, which saves EX scoring, is still reliatively on pace to its traditional money scoring. It just removes the 50k combo portion of the money scoring, and since the other 150k is 3/3 Pgreat, 2/3 Great 1/3Good... it still functions. Comparing DDR, Konami has put the gap to perfect to marvelous as TEN points, and Perfect to Great as 40% score? While EX the gap from marvelous to perfect is equal to the gap from perfect to great, when the mistiming on the arrow is far greater from perfect to great than marvelous to perfect. Hence EX scoring in DDR needs further compensation that far outweighs what was relevant back when EX was introduced and DDR money scoring [at the time] had weighted the timing differences accordingly.

    • @e.c.b.
      @e.c.b. 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hsanrb These are my thoughts:
      1. EX scoring is worthless in Some rhythm games, but not all. Because it ultimately depends on the game design, particularly on the timing window along with the common chart structure(s), and what the players measure/define in a competition. You could say PIU favors retaining combo, and doesn't mind players sacrificing accuracy (as it doesn't punish bad pad mashing, thus requiring consistency to some extent); while DDR/ITG favors accuracy and doesn't mind sacrificing combo (as it doesn't punish misses harshly but penalizes continuous inaccuracy).
      2. The 10 point gap between Marvelous and Perfect in DDR's default scoring system is that a PFC is "the perfect play" among most players, and the amount of Marvelous only serves as tiebreaker among PFCs, because before SuperNOVA2, Perfect was the top judgment (I'm not saying it's good though). So in a way, DDR EX scoring measures accuracy, while the default scoring measures both accuracy and precision relative to its accuracy.

    Fucking lol, no one plays this anymore. Bar try hards are the reason this game died, Andamiro amped up the difficulty so much it became impossible to play the hardest songs no bar and it stopped being a dancing game at the highest levels. Want to this shit to become a game again? Scrap all charts post Zero and maybe keep some of the songs up to Prime 2.
