The new concrete dock project! Got to see it in person after it was completed! Lots of people sitting in their chairs and fishing! The minotaur is a beast! Case really stepped up their game with that piece of engineering marvel!
Another good video Matt. Yourself and DP are a major asset to the little town of Derby. You both have helped to turn it into the amazing little known hidden gem that it is. Thanks for bringing everyone along on the journey.
Good job Matt . Again it looks amazing working for DP , someone who mentors people and gives you great opportunity to learn and hone in skills that are valuable . That's what I call a great friend . Thumbs 👍
I really like how DP tells you to give it a try. Learning under my dad and grandpa they would tell me “turn the key boy”! It will either blow up or run but it will do something. I go back to what Jerry told DP on the lake job that all you need is seat time. Coming from someone like that is quite the compliment. Merry Christmas from Texas and I’ll see you next year 🙃
Nice work Matt. DP is a very lucky man to have you in his team. With time your operator skills will improve and with your organizational skills you will be the total asset
I love this machine and think it's great, but people seem to forget that track loaders already exist and have been an incredible, productive answer to many jobsites for years. You can't compare this only to a Dozer or a skid steer, I think this is roughly the same size as a Cat 939 or older 941, a little lighter, but on the same track.
G'day Matt. The DL550 seems like a great tool for the fleet. It's now Midnight here in Australia so Merry Christmas to you and your family. PS: need a new vid on the Lighthouse
Nice job Matt! Merry Christmas sir! What a sweet machine ha? I'd love to spend some seat time in one! They would make a great forestry machine cause of its size! For like building fire breaks / fire trails! Kleenex up. After the loggers come thru! Trail matanance!
Nice finish Matt you are fortunate DP let's you go and do this on your own to figure out this new machine I think he is happier on the excavator and dozer than the skid steer. Have a merry Xmas Matt and your family Cheers Kym Adelaide
That thing is a beast it would definitely save haven a skid steer and a finish dozer hauling em in and out of a job just have 1 to do it all that’s nice
NYAM, my favorite segue was with the burning film effect. That minotaur looked like the Andre the Giant of skid steers. Now if it only floated, it could fill the other side of the seawall.
Kleeman already did a couple videos on this machine and I’m glad I got to watch yours as well. Curious to see what DPs thoughts are on this one and if he buys it as a secondary machine to the d4g or if he ends up with a dozer. I’m sure the price tag on this versus a used dozer is very different and the single grouser tracks make it harder for use as a skidsteer than the 240 on many jobs but this would be a 2 for the price of one type purchase instead of just a dozer.
Some size beast Matt 💪💪💪 Made relatively easy work of the stone, have you asked Santa for one???? 🤔🤣🎄 Have a fabulous Christmas to you and your family Matt 👍😁🇬🇧
Being able to visualize where you’re filling in the dirt, it is really cool that looks like the area where the old wooden dock area was where we picked you up and took you for a boat ride. I’ll look forward to seeing all the changes when we get back down there
Are you all having a race to get content out, watched the Captain use the Case on his channel. I will say it's a brilliant bit of kit, you can also attach your height lasers to the top of the blade and it will work with them. Is Mike having a dock built so he can get all his materials delivered by river, 🤣😂 as I know how much he likes to spend time down their.
Matt I've watched Captains video on this machine he had to get a rock unstuck from the track, I just saw what I believe was the same rock someone has some explaining to do 😆
Always amazes me wen guys are having a hard time getting into heavy material and won't back drag out of a pile first to loosen things up a little. Bet that was a ruff ride on the big rocks with the steel tracks. Lol
I can't help but think a 50,000 pound tracked loader would have been more efficient on this job. This little thing could do the job given enough time but so frustratingly slow. That said, it is fun to watch that machine work.
50k# would have been very difficult to move around in that tight space at water. But yes would have moved rock faster. Not sure speed would be worth loosing agility
Hello Matt, you made it clear that you're a new/inexperienced operator and that is true of every operator of any equipment. I think you filmed some errors today and then repeated the same error every time. Every time you came off the bench towards the water, you were watching product (Blast rock) roll out of your bucket and I wondered why you didn't just turn at the top and back down and turn and dump? That being said it was great that you didn't crest the hill with the bucket up! Then your new nickname would be "flip Wilson". If/when you push the bucket/blade control lever all the way forward you should feel a detent, it should cause the hydraulic valves to open and the attachment will float or be flat on the ground. Pull back one detent and up a bit so when you go forward again it should be flat to the ground. Anyway my intention with this comment was to help you and was not intended to be rude or condescending. Now I'll wait for DPs video to find out why he started you in the middle of the project, instead of the proximal end ( where the steel partition met the ground) so you could have been placing the blast rock on both sides of the steel barrier from the start. So thanks for the video Matt.
Matt not being critical here but if you had taken the machine down the slope in reverse with the bucket up hill of the machine then turning on the flat, you would have kept the rock in the bucket and not having such a bumpy ride. Wishing you and you family a Merry Christmas from NZ.
That's the river isn't it? I wouldn't get anywhere near that thing. I can't believe people live on it. Rivers look calm and placid on the surface, but the current under it can be violent often rolling as a tire rolls. And when they flood...oh boy. Anyway, I enjoy watching y'all work. I don't know when you're actually doing this work, I'd like to know more about that machine, but it may be summer time before it's on DP's channel. :)
Matt, you did an awesome job in the minotaur can I ask how did they get that wall in the water that you're filling the rock upto and was it deep at all
Matt, we have not seen one video on DP channel, but saw it at work on Captains channel. As for DP we won’t see his videos on the subject for 2 months after your video release.
@@nyamillennial yes Mike will have either bought it or sent it packing down the road long before he ever posts a video about it. We actually see things on his Facebook page months before it makes it to TH-cam. The video he just posted was the tile job for farmer Chris, and he had to get the job done so he could plant wheat,, so that tells me late September or early October. Before the temps fall below the germination point. 🤣🤣😂🤣 You and the captain let the cat out of the bag on projects long before Mike post videos.
At first I thought this was the river by your commercial lighthouse property, which we haven't got any updates on in quite a while. Do you plan on adding a peir / boat access to that?
Maybe you mentioned it earlier, do you have to get a permit from the Army Corp of Engineers to make this kind of fill? Also, just downstream of this work appears to be a couple of large concrete pylons that might have been used for barge traffic to some kind of commercial facility many years/decades ago. Actually, the one closest to the bank looks like it has some kind of temporary safety railing around its top. Does that pylon now belong to the owners of the building(s) just downstream from the one you are working on? Lastly, looks like Mr. Millenial is giving that Case a good workout!!! 😱
We'll see DP's take in about 2-3 weeks, maybe? That being said, understand why he does it and it don't bother me, really, I'll watch'em whenever they come out.

Thats a high estimate for Dp his stuff is 2 months old don't mind i smoked the paperwork

No race, just the line up lol. 😂😂 nope community center project
It’s definitely a beast Matt, but I see why the stone was stockpiled so far away from the project giving all the extra work for you to move
Truck drivers wouldn’t put it any closer
Now I got an idea where this rock came from Captain Kleeman tried to push out from the tracks
😂😂😂 yup!
What a place it will be when finished the view there is

Rock has to end up there also but thanks for the advice
Longer the dozer tracks the easier it is to grade . That's why everyone back blades on bobcats
Makes sense
Seat time my friend... eventually you will catch that bubble in your but and it will be like clock work then. You are doing fine.

Honestly, you should carry the load up-hill when on a slope, ramp, incline, etc.
Agreed just too much turning and rock will go there in the end anyway
Matt, you did an awesome job in the minotaur can I ask how did they get that wall in the water that you're filling the rock upto and was it deep at all

They set a barge out there and hammered them in. DP has several vids coming on the install. It varies between 6’-16’ deep

Goodmorning Afternoon evening and good night all
Goodnight
When loading tough materials I like to work on the corner of the pile it's easier to get full buckets
Agreed, truck drivers mixed mediums with large so I had to work where the tick I needed was.
Well, Matt at least I'm not the only one who thinks D.P. needs a better editing system. Lol .😊😄
😂😂😂
It seems to me that you would lose fewer rocks if you would lift your bucket arms up a little to keep your load level when going down the hill.
That actually causes the machine to rock back and forth much worse, actually tried it and DP said NO. 😂😂
Maybe you mentioned it earlier, do you have to get a permit from the Army Corp of Engineers to make this kind of fill?
Also, just downstream of this work appears to be a couple of large concrete pylons that might have been used for barge traffic to some kind of commercial facility many years/decades ago.
