Incredible. First time watching this. What a tribute. I’m American and have a deep love of British history. My grandfather actually served in France in WWI. He was already in his 70’s when I came around but I do remember some conversations when he talked about being amazed at British technology at the time. That little island nation never ceases to amaze me with what it can do. I proudly own a Triumph Speed Triple 1200RR and also a vintage Bonny in my motorcycle collection. The torque on my Triple will snap your fu-ing arms off. It sounds like no bike you’ve ever heard. Cheers!
My Granddad while in hospital recovering from ingury. The whole of the Lincolnshire regiment where killed in WW 1 . He was left thought to be dead for 9 days in a shell hole. 3 German prisoners found him made a stretcher with a coat and to posts carried him to the UK hispital tent. Saving his life. And my father was born after the war. He never forgot what these Germans did for him. When he died he still had about 12 metal shrapnel parts in his body. He many times cut shrapnel out from under his skin that had moved towards the skin surface.
My Grandad was an Ozzy and fought in Ypres. He always said it was Berries. In Australia we have been giving it heaps of herbs since the internal combustion engine was put in vehicles.
Lincolnshire Police at their typical best. . . Oh what about Health and Safety ? . . . This was a Remembrance Day Parade for Christ Sakes. A one off . . A very special occasion. . . . Be ashamed
The welding was cool at jcb, I used to weld window washer hooks for high rises always had to pay attention especially since they were all magniflux tested.
I hereby vouch that the next bit of machinery that I buy for my mine here in Canada, will be JCB. That's my way of saying "thank you!" Thanks to all involved in this project ... except for the folks that stopped it being in the parade at Lincoln. My god, have you never heard of engineering and hazard mitigation? Whatever your concerns were, they could have been allayed. Twats!
Trust the police to throw a spanner in the works. That's about all they can do. But taking the tank to the original battlefield was very respectful. Great idea.
Well they certainly cannot stop knife crime or investigate burglary or car theft. They are however bloody good at catching people driving slightly above the speed limit. I believe money is involved in catching the last mentioned criminals though.
To Quote someone we know This is headshaking " Marvelous " , " Unbelievable " , Can you Believe that " . can't wait till I get to the gun building part .
IT IS GREAT JOB !!! 100YEARS AGO TANK WAS BORN TO BREAK THROUGH TRENCH WAR SITUATION ALSO TO SAVE SO MANY LIVES .... I UNDERSTAND GERMANY SOLDIERS FEELING WHEN THEY SEE THE TANK FOR THE FIRST TIME. 32 YEARS LATER SO MANY SOUTH KOREAN SOLDIER FACED SOVIET T-34 TANK ON BATTLEFIELD. THEY ATTACK TANK WITH GRENADE BUT TANK WAS SO STRONG. PEACE NEVER MAKE BY MOUTH OR PAPER. WHERE DO TANK TAKE PLACE IN ENGLAND NOW ?
Bovington. UK. Home of the tank. Origin of the Tank. It is The Tank Museum. It tells the story of the tanks of the past. Buy modern tanks make T34 look like wusses. Also, the weakness of the tank is it's poor vision. You can sneak up on them easy. Just. Don't stand in front. Big guns and machine guns are designed to do a lot of damage.
Just look at the photo of period tank crew, shorts, cut knee, thigh, grubby hands, mud, these jokers were heavy workers in a confined and dangerous space. Their faces tired, though trying to look staunch. Duty calls first.
Poor JCB, they spent a fortune building that tank. 75% of that show should have been about building that tank instead of the minutes they received....a massive effort. WWI was such a waste of humanity, 1800's top of soldier warfare intersecting with efficient, lethal technology. Watch the movie "And they shall live forever"
it more about remembering those who served in the tank ,the history of the tank and the people who made it possible. its not so much about the build more the reason why they did the build
How did I miss this for 6 years? Great job Guy and to everyone involved.

I did the math. Glasgow raised £50 million in 1916 and adjusted for inflation today is £3.4 billion. People were just different back then.
What an amazing tribute. Thank you Guy Martin and the team.

My Oldest Great Grandpa served in World War One. Henry Otto Grill Private First Class United States Army 1895-1979.
The "B" on the throttle pedal stands for "beans" as in, "give it the beans".
My Grandad was an Ozzy and fought in Ypres. He always said it was Berries. In Australia we have been giving it heaps of herbs since the internal combustion engine was put in vehicles.
Lincoln City Council should be ashamed of themselves. Not allowing that wonderful replica to have access to their city .

A monument brought to live again... Respect for all those which helped us to throw away the invaders.
The welding was cool at jcb, I used to weld window washer hooks for high rises always had to pay attention especially since they were all magniflux tested.
That was so awesome thank you guy martin
Homing pigeons...made a sumptuous meal for Captain Blackadder...
Can't believe how short a time it took to produce the tank. Fantastic job.
vnewarp9 thanks to JCB
The lads working on the engine where having such fun doing it, thats what a reals mechanics look like.
Amazing story and technology. Thanks so much.
What a great show. Well done
The women who built it, sunken eyed, the legends.

Well Lincon certainly missed out due to the fun police, but very fitting for it to be at Cambrai
I love the fact that the engine just kept on spitting fire lol
RESPECT guy
Wow they found A real life Heinrich Dorfmann (Flight of the Phoenix) "Of course it'll work, the design characteristics are the same.."
irony not lost german designer did the drawings
Wow...brilliant....lest we forget
I want one. Does it come in Desert Yellow though?
Y I dont think these tanks were ever used in a desert setting so they never came in that color, but you could always paint it yourself
@@sam8404 during ww1 some British tanks where used against the Turks but they were quickly destroyed and the crews where given armored cars instead.
Many congratulations to the generous help from JCB, a truly successful British firm

Everywhere you look in metal involved industries you can see the magnets my dad invented, MagSwitches

Imo i think the guy heeving on the breaks was being to brutal.
WOW!
Bold Warrior you liked it?
he looks like a man slowly changing into a werewolf
Great video. Unfortunately only understood about 10% of Guy Martin's words. He was speaking English....right?????
Recce sixty a northern dialect I believe

I wonder what the examiner would have said Guy taking a bike at test Island of man
1:02:08 Wtf XD
Only in Britain would elfinsafti require high vis vests to be worn whilst driving an armoured vehicle!
Nah. Australia is the same mate. Lol. Work place health and safety is OTT here.
With how expensive it probably was to make the frame u think they could have a newish engine 🤣
So much product placement in this video, lol.
yeah, makes me want to rush out and buy a can of Maconochies Stew!
A very generous freebie from JCB. So what. Nobody else stepped forward. It was important to mark the centenary.
B for boost
What they built was twisting under the strain no wonder they all broke they were built cheap as shit.
They barely show any footage of actually building the tank.
it more about remembering those who served in the tank ,the history of the tank and the people who made it possible. its not so much about the build more the reason why they did the build
you have to put one in enemy action to lose one in enemy action.
Yeeej Me is the 444th thumb up....
