Battlefield 1™ The Saint-Chamond (They Shall Not Pass)
มุมมอง 1.9K7 ปีที่แล้ว
The Saint-Chamond, named after the commune of Saint Chamond, was the second French heavy tank of the First World War, with 400 manufactured from April 1917 to July 1918. Although not a tank by the present-day definition, it is generally accepted and described as such in accounts of early tank development.

Poor JCB, they spent a fortune building that tank. 75% of that show should have been about building that tank instead of the minutes they received....a massive effort. WWI was such a waste of humanity, 1800's top of soldier warfare intersecting with efficient, lethal technology. Watch the movie "And they shall live forever"

I did the math. Glasgow raised £50 million in 1916 and adjusted for inflation today is £3.4 billion. People were just different back then.

Incredible. First time watching this. What a tribute. I’m American and have a deep love of British history. My grandfather actually served in France in WWI. He was already in his 70’s when I came around but I do remember some conversations when he talked about being amazed at British technology at the time. That little island nation never ceases to amaze me with what it can do. I proudly own a Triumph Speed Triple 1200RR and also a vintage Bonny in my motorcycle collection. The torque on my Triple will snap your fu-ing arms off. It sounds like no bike you’ve ever heard. Cheers!

UK police, bunch of idiots. They would ban breathing if they thought people would listen. Ridiculous. Its not like the damned tank was hurtling down the road like a boyracer, it wasnt going to be silent and sneak up on someone, hell they could even have been useful and stuck some people around to make sure no one ran under it. But... of course thinking, brains, life doesnt come in to it with the pigs

Typical that the big Govt Lincoln Council didn't have the respect to let this tank parade in the very city that owes its freedom to such brave men and machines... The UK is f*cked with infiltrated liberal PC BS.

Thanks to all involved in this project ... except for the folks that stopped it being in the parade at Lincoln. My god, have you never heard of engineering and hazard mitigation? Whatever your concerns were, they could have been allayed. Twats!

My Granddad while in hospital recovering from ingury. The whole of the Lincolnshire regiment where killed in WW 1 . He was left thought to be dead for 9 days in a shell hole. 3 German prisoners found him made a stretcher with a coat and to posts carried him to the UK hispital tent. Saving his life. And my father was born after the war. He never forgot what these Germans did for him. When he died he still had about 12 metal shrapnel parts in his body. He many times cut shrapnel out from under his skin that had moved towards the skin surface.

Just look at the photo of period tank crew, shorts, cut knee, thigh, grubby hands, mud, these jokers were heavy workers in a confined and dangerous space. Their faces tired, though trying to look staunch. Duty calls first.

2:35 it's so true. In school we're taught so much more about WW2 than we are about, called at the time, The War To End All Wars. It's a sad truth that it is a conflict, lost to the sands of time, and it really was Battlefield 1 that pushed me to dive deeper into the Great War. The lives of the men and women who served, the mass brawl of Nivelle, the battle of the Somme. It's insane that most of us have forgotten. But as long as we remember, as long as they are heralded as heroes, shall their efforts be not in vain. Sorry, it's a topic I hold near and dear to my heart.

Trust the police to throw a spanner in the works. That's about all they can do. But taking the tank to the original battlefield was very respectful. Great idea.

Well they certainly cannot stop knife crime or investigate burglary or car theft. They are however bloody good at catching people driving slightly above the speed limit. I believe money is involved in catching the last mentioned criminals though.

IT IS GREAT JOB !!! 100YEARS AGO TANK WAS BORN TO BREAK THROUGH TRENCH WAR SITUATION ALSO TO SAVE SO MANY LIVES .... THEY ATTACK TANK WITH GRENADE BUT TANK WAS SO STRONG. PEACE NEVER MAKE BY MOUTH OR PAPER. WHERE DO TANK TAKE PLACE IN ENGLAND NOW ?

Bovington. UK. Home of the tank. Origin of the Tank. It is The Tank Museum. It tells the story of the tanks of the past. Buy modern tanks make T34 look like wusses. Also, the weakness of the tank is it's poor vision. You can sneak up on them easy. Just. Don't stand in front. Big guns and machine guns are designed to do a lot of damage.

it more about remembering those who served in the tank ,the history of the tank and the people who made it possible. its not so much about the build more the reason why they did the build
