I Made A Trails Inspired Tabletop RPG

  • I made a tabletop RPG that attempts to convert the Trails series gameplay into D&D, this game is essentially an extremely modified D&D having mechanics from Trails, 4E, 5E and some other series as well mixed in with some of my own personal craziness. Warning this game just might be the most unbalanced and crazy tabletop RPG that this world has ever seen, I'm not a game designer nor would I consider myself smart. My players had a lot of fun on the first session of this game though, so it potentially could be a diamond in the rough. There is not currently equipment or items past the starting point and also there are no pre made monsters or enemies to use. So the DM or GM whatever terminology you use for tabletop RPGs has a lot of heavy lifting to do in order to run sessions for this game. If even after all these warnings and disclaimers you are still curious about the game here ya go! Haha....

I don't have time to watch this the whole way through right now but fun happening upon this, I myself have been getting burned out on dnd 5e and seeking other systems, so I'll check out the full story later :)

Haha, most of my friends who played it with me said it was a refreshing change from D&D and most of them had never played Trails before so there was a steep learning curve especially with the battle orbment system. I think like 3 of the 11 hours in the first session was taken up just by them learning the game. I'm horrible at explaining things though so that didn't help xD.

now I wonder if I should actually go and try making a Xenoblade 5e thing as I wanted to do a year ago....

If you wanna make it, then absolutely you should! I've never actually played Xenoblade but it seems like a pretty neat series.

I have not watched the video yet but no. Crazy goes to FATAL and unbalanced goes to Naruto5e. If you even DID a balance pass, you'll be fine

A balance pass? Uhhh definitely not haha, but after my first session of it I did patch a few things and I'm sure after more sessions I'll have to keep doing so.
