UPDATE 3(Probably last one?): So yes, this video contains outdated information. Logic Driver Pro has been increasing in price consistently since this video as more features have been added, while the LITE version is completely free. None of this changes my opinion on it's value is a development tool and it's only gotten better with time. However, $200 is still a large asking price. I would primarily recommend it to serious developers, while hobbyists may want to stick with LITe for the time being. UPDATE 2: Logic Driver's base price has now increased to an MSRP of $130 dollars, so it is a bit more of an investment. However, the LITE version is completely free now, so if you want to try that out first go for it. UPDATE: In the video I mention that Logic Driver Pro has a base price of $75. Recently this has been increased to $100. That said, I still stand by everything I said in the video in regards to the usefulness of LDP and continue to STRONGLY recommend it. However, just be aware that it does cost more now, so it'd probably be good to try out the Lite version first if you're unsure (which is still $35).
Even though it's expensive I don't regret my purchase thanks for your recommendation. now at least I don't have to waste my time merging different plugins and dialogue systems I can create something simple for my project. I understand the basic blueprint but still, sometimes I get confused about how to approach certain things. it will be a great help if you create some tutorials for this plugin.
ok i was about to go check it out but it seems like since the tool got more popular they jack the price up to £250 which is insanely high... seems like it now just a cash grab :(
opposite of a cash grab, the original functionality is available for free now and paid version is tailored for studios... sheessh all for the people and the people gonna do em like this its a shame
Getting ready to release my second game using this system for AI, Quest systems, Dialogue, etc. Its a general use state machine that works well with every system in unreal.
I think this might make sense for indie devs who don’t code but this is really not that groundbreaking. Everything you described can be easily achieved with Cpp.
Unfortunately, this will one day be the only way people will be developing applications. I know it is hard to believe but some of these new ai systems really can do just about anything so the compilation process of this visual blueprint scripting will end up just becoming a standard of how everything is made due to cost with no efficiency difference. Even AWS & Open AI have taken note of this and have been hard at work on their own tools that do similar things.
Work around? Its called making a game. For a graph state machine you need a lot more bools and variables to control it :D and you can jump over a state. Either all your states point to all states. Or you can switch states one at a time to only onces you foreseen being used. I dont think this is a good idea.
@@3sgamestudio i see. I was asking because I don't really get what you meant by a lot more bools and variables to control it, if using graph state machine.
@@davinsaputra3341 honestly getting more into this plugin i see you don't have to switch states on values, you can on trigger events, or even event dispatchers in animations - so easily you can do a complex combat system.
@@3sgamestudio hearing you said that makes my confidence rise up tp buy and try this plugin out :) thanks man. I've been following your work on and off for a few months. Awesome stuff :D
i literally found this video because i was saying to myself how much behavior trees suck ass and i wish i could make them work with boolean states and events and mirror my animation tree without some hacky workaround. if this plugin can do any of those things i want it.

I read alot that ai behaviour trees are much better for performance. If your plugin converts everything to a state machine, how does it effect the general performance? Events are already tricky, you can easily ruin the whole performance by just little bugs. Is there a way to debug it well, and is it able to benchmark or monitor certain parts?
So most of your questions would be for the plugins creator. He's really good at answering this stuff on the discord server for Logic Driver. logicdriver.com/ To be clear, this doesn't replace or convert anything. It simply adds the ability to create state machines for non-animation programming. As for AI, performance would depend on how you set it up. In my case, I greatly reduce tick speed on AI state machines I use, as well as stop or turn off any machines for AI that are too far away or irrelevant, for example.
There is no proper tutorial, only a professional studio can benefit from this, I tried to use it even though I am at an intermediate level, I found it useless, the existing tutorials are very basic.
Wish I had known about this earlier, Would've rather paid $70 than the $300 it's going for right now
the original functionality is available for free now and paid version is tailored for studios
an unreal engine vtuber
another thing i didn't expect tp stumble upon today
also IT'S 99 USD NOW (Bought it)

I'm just now starting with UE4 so I'm only figuring out basics, but I'll definitely keep this tool in mind for the future. :)

lol. Man I only WISH I was good enough at c++ to make something like this.
It’s $129.99 now, but Lite is free. Worth the price though.
This convinced me to get logic driver pro :)
This pricing has also changed currently Lite is free and Pro is 129.99. Not hating just stating a fact.
