I picked up a k1 last week and rooted it and installed full version of klipper and it is night and day. I have all the functions incuding kamp etc. I am also able to use orca and send prints wirelessly. I did look at the qidi printers but the xplus 3 was almost twice as much. I think I would prefer the k1 max over the qidi now that you can unlock the k1 series. Before that, i would havs gone for a qidi. So hopefully qidi also gives their cx's full unlocked klipper and then i will consider. All my printers are running klipper now as well. Thanks for the review Guy. Cheers
The Qidi does have full access to the software like the K1. You can SSH into it and install vanilla Klikpper if you like. I agree that the K1 right now is a better value for some. I think the Qidi fits a niche for those wanting to print some of the filaments that require a heated chamber. Thanks for watching!
do you think it is possible to "crack" the Klipper? to find out what has been overwritten there and how it works. if someone gets into it, it's a possibility, but it's a question of how much it's locked, at least that's my opinion
hi GS, I really need to know, does the Qidi x plus 3 printer has Resume printing when the power goes off while printing ? there is no mention of it in anny video on utube
I just checked their website and it doesn't mention it either. Nor have I tested it. You might want to shoot them an email and ask. They are pretty responsive. plus3support01@qd3dprinter.com
No power resume, another reviewer tested it since it wasn't mentioned. Excited to get my xplus 3 next week, not being unlocked firmware doesn't bother me since I usually stay on one version for years and years
@GuysShop hot end and nozzles are terrible. They keep getting clogged and it seems like a design flaw. And good luck trying to return this $600 paperweight. QIDI will fight you tooth and nail
@@riscdesign bullshit! Got one here, no probs whatsoever since the months it‘s sitting here now! Ouh, and my condolences - I don‘t live in a third world country that only has Electricity for half a day! My previous printer had shutdown-recovery and didn‘t once need it in over three years,,, The Question is more likely rather, who made it into a paperweight
@@ElektrotechnikerThird world country with no electricity half the day could be California tho…. Thanks to all of their really big bright ideas about power out there.
would you consider this a good printer for a beginner looking to get started in 3D printing but not sure what ti buy

First of all qidi tech x-plus 3 has access to the software and it's so much better than k1 in many ways

You can get to all the config files and also SSH into the main board. It's all there if you so choose to do any modifications.

Did KAMP come pre-installed?
Yes it did and it works great!
Will you ever build a voron?
Just finishing up one now. A 350 2.4
Like you said. DO NOT UPDATE THE KLIPPER Firmware!!!!!!! It will brick it. You have been warned!
Really no power resume you have to be kidding why make a 3d printer for this price an it donot have power resume printing thats fucked up
Yeah, it is kinda f'd up. It is such a standard thing to have in the firmware nowadays....
