I TOTALLY agree, please do not close Great America 😢
BRAVO!!! it does suck that the park is closing but this park looks so good. hope yall are doing good in asia, and hope yall had fun at cga!!!!
When is it closing?
@@all-caps3927 the dead line is at 2033 but its not 100% accurate
One of the best 1 2 Punches in america with Gold Striker and Railblazer, Gold Striker my favourite GCI and Railblazer another awesome RMC.
This park closure makes me so sad .as a California enthusiast I feel like we are losing another one of the parks we have close to us. Yes we do have a lot of parks in California but we have almost nothing east within driving distance we are also missing a lot of popular ride models such as b&m hyper and Intamin blitz
Demon at SFGAM has its original drop, while CGA's Demon got its first drop reprofiled to get rid of the airtime pop and make it more family friendly.
Goldstryker in the day...dope ride. Goldstryker at night....A ridiculously out of control ride experience. Amazing
It’s my home park, save CGA!
I dunno. It looks like a nice park, but as soon as I saw that it was right next to the Niners stadium, I thought “ah…I get it now.” The land around sports venues is super valuable. Team owners not only want a part of the stadium, they want it to be a destination village. Restaurants, sports books, outdoor venues, hotels, bars, retail…oh and again, casinos and sports books. Even if it’s not legal now, give it say, oh I dunno, 10 years. And the owners want in on that action.
That came only ten years ago. It really was the business buildings moving in that started putting pressure with noise complaints. The park was there first.
@@Knaztr76The park isn’t closing because of noise complaints lol
@@triple7marc Its been the Business buildings using that excuse for years, why do you think Goldstriker looks the way it does.? The land is prime for them, and they want it. So it definitely is part of it, but get your lol’s.
At the 16minute mark, that green space use to have one of those triple Ferris wheels, I think it was called Sky Whirl. It's sad this park will eventually close, there is a lot of charm and beauty to the park.
When I first became an enthusiast I used to come to this park every few weeks to hang out with the “CGA Squad” which consisted mostly of people I met on the day you first visited in July 2016. I really made some long-term friends that day and will always love and miss this park despite not living close to it anymore. What made me an enthusiast in the first place was realizing that Flight Deck and Patriot had the same track type, then looking them up and realizing they were made by the same company, and the rabbit hole began!
Also this is where I played the GP in the Boomerang parody 😂
I agree, save CGA!
Just finished watching your last vlog! Perfect timing!
I just got season tickets a week ago! So bummed I didn’t get to see you guys, glad y’all had fun though!
i really want to visit this park one more time before it's closure. i only been here once for a road safety conference in high school, and we went here instead of disneyland for one year. all i rode was railblazer, patriot, and the 4DX mass effect ride that was more enjoyable than i expected.
Amazing vlog as always!
Bro, I’m literally going today😂 LOL
I forgot about the wild mouse here tbh 💀
It majes sense that the SFGAM Demon has stronger airtime because it actually has a steeper drop where it goes into and out of it immediately unlike CGA's Demon where it's a straight drop at a lesser angle.
Yes! Six Flags (or Cedar Fair as I still like to call it) and Prologis, don't close this theme park! Let this park in every northern Californian's heart!
I love Great America!!! It's a GREAT park!!!❤❤❤
My home park growing up, it would be a killer to Northern California to lose this park. Come on Six Flags, RMC the Grizzly and give it some love.
Thanks for being an Ally ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Wish you guys made it to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It’s one of the best boardwalks, and Giant Dipper is a great old wooden coaster
Gold Striker is a great ride, but man has it gotten rough fast again since its recent retracking. Still maybe my favorite GCI layout.
As a ride operator for psycho mouse I can say that we don’t try too make it slow on purpose. The way we’re told too load unload on top of other procedures slows down operations significantly.
If you’re wondering why the drop tower crew sucked it really depends on the area in the park you go too. Generally as a ride op you stay with the same two or three rides and people and some areas are better than others when it comes too professionalism.
I need get here soon
Invertigo was indeed on that green space, btw :)
Gold Striker Draws The Most Positive G's GCI Has Ever Done. i Have On Average 10 Years To Visit This Before its Gone.
This is such a fun and nice park, it is such a shame that it is going to close and it will be missed.
Watching this makes me happy but also so sad. I truly hope they DO NOT close this park but unfortunately that’s out of my control.
I love Sarah’s shirt!
My home is Six flags Great America and CGA is my top of the bucket list park because of how similar and different they are
The similarities are weird. When I visited SFGAm for the first time it was cool to see how the parks were similar but not exactly the same. For example, some buildings are the same between the two parks, but are used for different things. Our sky ride station is a restaurant at your park.
Love the shirt Sarah!
35:59 The city and mayor are BIG supporters of the park. I sat in on the city council meeting when the park was seeking approval for their 20-year plan way back in 2017 and you could tell they were proud to have the park in Santa Clara. I also talked to Mayor Lisa Gillmor in RailBlazer’s station on media day back in 2018 and she was super excited about the future growth of the park. I have a feeling that the city council will make it very difficult for anything to be built on the land, so let’s just hope that Cedar Fair/Six Flags executes their cancellation clause and don’t close the park at all 🤞🏼 it’s also strange that the park has gotten two new rides since the closure announcement and has done a lot of TLC to the place including polishing up/renovating restaurants, pathways and foliage. They did, however, cancel their Halloween event.
36:32 Yep, Orion was meant for CGA (in a different form due to the park’s 250-foot height limit). The ride existed and would have been built had it not been canceled. The cancellation was due to a few reasons including major management issues that I won’t go into.
my home park😀 very epic
CGA was always a park destined for greatness, and it’s a shame that Cedar Fair kinda gave up on it. Hopefully the merger will see a change in direction for the future of the park. It’s not too late to save CGA.
The fact that we will never see RMC grizzly because this park’s expiration date 😢
I want to get to CGA just to ride the Mass Effect ride. 😅
My secret hope is when they close CGA, they go ahead and close SFDK and open a real park, maybe in the Manteca area give or take, as that would be freeway convenient to most of the population of Northern California as well as for interstate travelers.
Manteca is in the middle of absolutely nowhere though 😂
It's funny - whenever youtubers mention the drama with the office buildings next door, they neglect to mention that it's the Google/TH-cam offices that have blocked everything and almost killed the park, even though CGA was there first and Google thought it would be fun to build their office next to an amusement park.
Google does not have offices next to CGA. And why would TH-camrs know who’s in the buildings anyway?
TH-cam is in San Bruno, no where near CGA
this was my home park when i was young, i would be so sad if they tore it down. The merger needs to save it
They were running 3 trains on the main section of Psycho Mouse in April, so maybe the operations just really suck.
My childhood 🥲
18:31 busted 🚨🚨🚨
Having been to this park recently and absolutely loved it I don't want it to close but at the same time that land is incredibly valuable and the Six Flags Company is in debt so its the choice keep California's Great America and risk the whole chain closing down or close California's Great America use the money to pay off the debts to save the rest of the chains parks when you put it in that context in makes logical sense why they want to sell. I hope they do change their mind on how to pay back that debt.
Also I heard the stadium San Francisco 49ers are not the nicest to California's Great America they should stand up to them.
I really hope it stays!
While yall were in Bay Area did yall go to the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk?
the one time I was here Railblazer was closed I really was upset cause I wanted to ride a smaller raptor
its my home park, so i REALLY hope it doesnt close :(
Did you ride Lucy's Crabbie Cabbies, the E&F Miler? Or they wouldn't allow you?
The wrong park is closing. This park deserves better.
The empty plot is where the triple wheel was aka where Rakshasa will go
lol I think you’re in on the joke 😏
Yeah don’t close it but hopefully more attractions can be built. As a transit fan, it’s one of the only theme parks in this country that’s served by light rail. Mall wise, just like Six Flags Great America, there’s a Simon-Mills mall nearby, fully known as The Great Mall of the Bay Area🐧
Two new rides have been built in the last couple years alone lol
I am afraid of heights I hate the sky Gondolas, they always freak me out. I'm always afraid the cable of Snap or something hooray anxiety.
It’s a quaint park, but it totally pails in comparison to its sister park in Chicago… I really wish they would have continued solid bigger investments into this place… The coaster lineup is just adequate… I agree the top three are pretty easy to make out, but the rest of the lineup is pretty poor. This park needs a hyper, or a launch coaster or an RMC
They can't build any of that. Hence, why it's different from its sister.
You guys didn't explain how Patriot was, was it good?
Patriot is completely forceless, boring and is a huge waste of space. To make it worse it has a 54" limit so it can't even be a family ride. 👎
@tondog54 It can't be that bad, is it actually boring and forceless? And it doesn't take up a whole lot of space. I think it looks kind of underated because everybody either never talks about or hates on it when they do.
Patriot is very short but enjoyable. Not a waste of space but nothing worth really talking about. It works as just another coaster to ride.
@@maxhagenauer24 if it was a 48" limit I might have a different opinion. Maybe it was better as a standing coaster. But get the credit and move on. Or just get that extra ride on Goldstriker or Railblazer 😃
I think its too late for the part to not close, the property got sold to a apartment building company unfortunately. Really sad as this is my hometown park, I've been going there basically since I was an infant.
The fast lane track for grizzly used to be the normal line btw.
I prefer blacktop
I'd rather be a street
