I did as you said, one day later still slips, had to go away for a week, today I thought I would glue it, to my surprise the throttle is solid, so well done
Sometimes the throttle sticks on bikes with handguards like Barkbusters of Acerbis with the metal reinforcement that bolts at the end of the handlebar because the grip is too long and touches the inside of the handguard. You need to trim the throttle side to get that sorted.
I recently brought pro taper bars & pro taper grips but the grip for the left side just slides on & off unlike the grip for the throttle side that will need real hard pushing to get it on,I’m guessing I’ll need to go find some decent glue hopefully my local motor bike shop sells some
I always use safety wire ( N.W. corner of Oregon lots of rain) rooting around for something to get them on without driving to a store I tried, walmart brand equate moisturizing hand sanitizer .... left alone, next day checked them & I can't move them, may not need the wire. So give it a try !!
Funny last night I put on my left grip and decided to use hair gel. Then I got off work and your video popped up so I went out to the garage to see how it worked and it was sliding around so don't try that! So I washed the grip out I'm going to try the spray paint. Thanks for the tip I'll let you know how it goes by the way I have the same exact color taper grips too funny man 😂
So I run bark busters. I put my last grips on two or three years ago. Can't remember what I did on the end of the grip. Does that cap just come off some way? Also, I bought pro taper grips and the clutch side seems fine but the throttle grip looks like no way its going on.
Just cut the end of the grip with a knife. And for the fitment, you put the narrower grip on the clutch side, correct? Because if you accidentally put the wider grip on the clutch side then you would definitely have issues putting the other grip on the throttle side because it is narrower.
I got some clear/clear coat that i can use cuz i need to change the handle bars on my atv cuz it got wreaked and i need to get those grips off and back on
Last time I used grip glue throttle stuck on, went over a jump in the bush broken collarbone and 8 broken ribs, 3 months ago, not back on the bike yet so I try this method
My friend said I totaled my bike doing it this way. Luckily it wasn't a total lose as he offered to buy the bike 2019 crf230 off me for 300$ for a parts bike. But needless to say I'm not happy
It was a total loss, your "friend" played you to get your thousand plus dollar bike from you for a few hundred. I can almost guarantee he turned it around and sold it the next day for a few grand.

I tried this and it is WAAAYYYY better than glue! It is kinda slippery to get it on, then dries really nice
Awesome technique saved us a headache cheers from Australia
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
I have to ask.. How's the paint supposed to dry when you cover it with a rubber grip?

Does it matter what kind of spray paint? Would a chalk based paint work?
I use clear coat

Interesting never thought of clear coat. I use rubbing alcohol it works for me. When the alcohol dries it sticks
I just tried this. You’re a life save it took me 5 seconds 💪🏻💪🏻🔥🔥
Thank you!!!
Is that hand sanitizer is the same with rubbing alcohol?
Works like a charm 😁
How did you get them off?
Just cut and peel.
Can you use clear coat
Yeah any color works! Thanks for watching!
Thanks this was very helpful I was struggling for the longest 😂
If anyone wants to learn about Jesus Christ reply
Nice man my dad was a telling me that back in the day they used to user hair spray instead of the glue or wire or any o that crap
Hair spray is still used but doesn’t always work. Don’t know why.
So fast and easy. Took me three minutes total.
Yep it’s our favorite method! Thanks for watching!
Yo yo yo I done fucked up and bought dirt bike grips for my quad will I be fine or do I need to buy another set of grips
Nah you're F'd lol. Dirt bikes have one bigger tube for throttle. Quad bikes have the same hole grips for both sides
Fuck a quad buy a dirtbike
@Quirin M. shit your right I’d probably kill my self on a dirtbike ngl
Hi. You using just a normal paint spray?
Clear coat
Gonna give this a try using clear coat
Nice & simple, cheers bud.
thank man its help a lot .
Glad we could help, thanks for watching!
I’ve always used my wife’s high dollar hairspray.
Going to do it tomorrow 😂🎉
Hair spray is a little tidier if you happen to have some
We will have to try that out. Thanks for watching!
Pour some gas in your grip then pour it back out. Your grips will slide on then kinda melt in place. Works every time
Good idea
