    Looks 😋my Punjabi friends make it like the way you cooked. Only that she adds garlic ginger & green chillies too when she pressure cook it. But I will definitely try it your way too. Thank you for all the amazing recipes.👌🏼😋xx

    THANK YOU. I am looking for instructions on how to cook this Urad Dal on a regular pot and I had a feeling you where the one to tell me. I do not have a pressure cooker.

      OK, if you don't have a pressure cooker or an Instant Pot, wash the split Urad Dal and put it on to boil with double the amount of water ( so 1 Cup Urad Dal needs 2 Cups Water). Once it comes to a boil, lower the heat and let the dal cook until it feels soft. This will take about 30 minutes. Add more water if needed. Then just follow the remaining instructions in the video. ENJOY!

    I made this tonight, having followed the recipe to a T. I'm afraid we were left disappointed because the curry came out really bland. I've never had this issue with any one of your other recipes I've made before. Not sure what went wrong, but I'll certainly be including more spices next time. Thank you for sharing your food with us and for your commitment. You deserve a lot more subscribers.

      I’m sorry you didn’t like it😞 The spices in here are definitely milder than my Moong recipe as it is a Punjabi style dal. I appreciate you commenting and, yes, just add some more spices next time. This dal is very good for you😊

    👍👌. Very easy and simple to make, thanks. However, no tumeric. Is this right? I thought, all Indian cuisine has atleast half tsp of it. If correct, will try making it your way.

    Hi Mihaan. thank you for this video. One question - Do you not put tumeric and garam masala in your urad dal? Just asking because I have seen other recipes on TH-cam and most of them atleast have tumeric.

      Not in this recipe. It’s a very simple and mild curry. Not as spicy as my others but still tasty.😊

    There was no jeera powder, no coriander powder, or turmeric powder... I wonder how this would turn out...

      It’s definitely a milder curry recipe that came from a Punjabi friend of my mother-in-laws. It is delicious but not super spicy. Try it😊

    Hiii. Can we add tin tomatoes, and can we soak the dal overnight as I would be using a normal pot

      You can add tinned tomatoes if you like. As for soaking, if you soak the split urad dal, the skin will separate. Just be sure to add the skin and the dal together before cooking. Enjoy!😊
