I own a model s with free supercharging. But I did rent a model 3 and paid for supercharging which is about the same price as gas. So you may not save much on road trips. Charging at home is where you save the most.
Agreed. I haven't had to use a supercharger yet but have seen videos of owners saying that it's the same cost as gas. I charge at home with my wall connector and that makes it so convenient and cost effective.

Is it normal to do your own PDI on a Tesla? I figured at least it would be PDI'd, washed and 100% charged upon delivery. I know nothing about the Tesla delivery experience.
Yes, it is important that you perform your own PDI when you pick up the car. Tesla allegedly inspects every car before delivering to the customer but nobody is going to be more meticulous than the person taking ownership of the car. Tesla has had some quality issues in the past, but my car was absolutely fine.
I'm not 100% sure if my car was washed before delivery, but it was clean when I picked it up. There was, however, one black scuff on the driver's seat that I easily wiped off with my finger. Most likely from an employee moving the car.
My car was not 100% charged upon delivery. My car was at 75%, which was fine. It was enough charge for me to drive an hour back home.
Lucky I’m on week 5 of waiting. Pick up on March 7th. Atlanta, GA.

How is it going without the parking sensors? I'm thinking of cancelling my delivery since I'm not sure how I will like the car without the feature.
I didn't have parking sensors on my 2014 BMW so I'm not missing anything. I've been parking without the sensors just fine lol I've been patiently waiting for the parking sensors feature to kick in. I wonder how much longer that will take.

Threes had less back seat leg room but we seldom carry passengers so no big deal
I've sat in the back of my Model 3 plenty of times and find that there is plenty of leg room for the average person. If you want a car that's more fun to drive, I'd take the Model 3. If you want more space and storage, go for the Model Y.

100% worth it. The mat in the back row doesn't fit 100% but it works well. Everything else fits amazingly.

Bonjour et merci d'avoir regardé. Oui, nous aimons l'intérieur blanc. Il a l'air si propre et futuriste. De nombreux propriétaires de Tesla disent que le simple fait d'essuyer les sièges une fois par semaine environ aidera à garder les sièges propres. Beaucoup de gens disent qu'ils ont leurs sièges blancs depuis quelques années et qu'ils ont toujours l'air neufs. Si nous avions des animaux domestiques ou des enfants, je réfléchirais probablement à deux fois avant d'avoir des sièges blancs. Mais pour l'instant, nous profitons des sièges blancs.
Hello and thanks for watching. Yes we love the white interior. It looks so clean and futuristic. Many Tesla owners say that simply wiping the seats down once every week or so will help keep the seats clean. Many people say they've had their white seats for a couple years and they still look brand new. If we had pets or kids, I would probably think twice about having white seats. But for now, we are enjoying the white seats.

Yes, I'll usually switch to Chill Mode when I go on longer trips out of town.
Was wondering if it’s better to pick up a Tesla at Orlando or Tampa. I think Tampa is better after seeing your helpful video. Enjoy your new car.
I live down in Sarasota, so the Tampa location made the most sense for me. I can't speak for the Orlando location but the Tampa location was just fine.

I like them a lot. The only matt that is a slightly "off" fit is the rear seats floor matt. It's just ever so slightly big but still fits well. Everything else is perfect.
It’s so beautiful the great thing about a tesla in my opinion are the updates like you can literally pay to make your car faster how cool is that meanwhile

I found that they're a little bit stiff at first when you get them but they end up fitting pretty well.
Who else is waiting over a month for delivery ? 😢 yet Tesla’s website still says estimated delivery for March if you ordered today 🤔
What model did you order? The model type and your location are factors that affect your delivery date.
@@SofieAndStephen performance model 3. I’m in the Bay Area right next to their Fremont factory. I called and they have an eta at March 19-21. Just want want it to get here before March ends
@@stevenjani4954 The M3P should be the quickest to deliver. And you're in the Bay Area so I'd imagine you'd get it quick. Or maybe there's such a high demand right now so they're backed up on orders. I'm sure you'll get it before end of March if they gave you that March 19-21 delivery date.
Does it actually specifically say the tax credit is only till march 1st? It’s still being advertised and I’m sure it’ll be around for years but they might lower it to say 6,000 or so. But I heard you can redeem the same tax credit if you buy an EV every 3 years until the govt deems that the country has enough EVs on the road.
When I initially filmed the vlog, I had heard many say that you had to receive delivery of the car by end of March in order to receive the credit. However, now I hear differently from many sources saying exactly what you've just stated. The tax credit is still being advertised, which leads me to believe that you don't have to receive the car by end of March to receive the credit.
have you encounter any law enforcement trouble for the dark tint? I live in TX and have to settle with 25%, but I think your 15% really brings out the contrast.
So far I haven't had any law enforcement pull me over for the dark tint. The legal limit here in FL is 20%. I noticed some people have trouble seeing through my windows during the day. At night people can't see into my car at all. But I agree, the dark tint makes the car look super sporty and slick.
When did you order yours? I ordered a m3p start of February and the waiting is killing me haha 😅
I ordered mine on Jan 16th and took delivery of the car on Jan 26th. So the turnaround time was super fast. But I think the turnaround time really just depends on where you're located in the US.

Were you able to get the price under 55k with the white seats? I ordered the exact car, but with black seats at 53,490.
I ordered my car on 1/15 and at the time, the M3P with white seats was $54,995. Literally just under that $55k mark fortunately.

Hi Stephen - beautiful car! I just picked up a Model 3 RWD in white. I can't tell for sure if you tinted the back window. I want to be able to see well at night through the rearview mirror, so I am considering tinting just the door windows.
Thank you! Congrats on your Model 3! My rear, side, and windshield windows are all tinted. I find that the rearview window is really difficult to look out of anyway, so I mostly rely on the backup camera.

Do you have an in home charger, or do you rely on superchargers?
Yes, I have a Wall Connector in my garage that outputs about 40 miles per hour of charge. I just plug the charger in at night whenever I need to. So convenient not having to go to a gas station lol. I haven't needed to go to a supercharger. I'm sure I'll end up using one when I go on my first trip out of town somewhere. Otherwise, the in-home wall connector is well worth it.
Was the performance worth getting in your opinion
I like the wheels, the rims, the spoiler, and the speed of the Performance model. Those reasons alone are why I decided to get the Performance over the base RWD model. Whether or not it's worth the difference in money is subjective though. I like to think that it's worth it. I don't regret it, that's for sure.
Do you charge to 100% because it has the new batteries or 90% because it’s AWD. The manual says both. I think 90% is for the regenerative braking but I could be wrong.
Don't quote me on this but I believe only the RWD has the new batteries that allow for 100% charging without any battery longevity degradation.
I charge my car to 80% usually. If I am going out of town or know I will be driving for extended periods of time in one day, I will charge the car to 90%-95%. But I never charge to 100%. For my Model 3 Performance AWD, it's not good for the battery long term. Also if you charge to 100%, you lose regenerative braking until the battery percentage comes back down a bit.

I actually bought some black decal stickers from Custom Cut Graphics on Amazon. They have several different colors like black, red, pink, green, etc. I like the black since it matches the black and white theme on the exterior of the car. Congrats on your new M3! You’re gonna love it!

Thanks! The windows are a 15% tint. The windshield is at a 35% tint.

Congrats on your MY! My build quality is good. I haven’t found any large panel gaps or anything else that looks alarming. Mine is California made. I got my windows tinted at EV Studio. They did a great job.
I got mine on the 2nd of march, everything looks good on it, besides the alignment.

Brotha! I’m not too familiar with tints, but I noticed when you went into the car, despite how dark it looks outside, it was crystal clear on the inside.. May I ask what kind of tints those are?
The tint I got was called "Prime XR Plus Nano-Ceramic Window Tint". The sides are 15% and the windshield and rear window is 45% tint. At dusk, you can't see into the car at all lol

Looks good Stephen! I'm also in Tampa and was thinking about purchasing a Tesla. Did you trade in your vehicle through Tesla or somewhere else? Where did you have your windows tinted and what percentage? I'm trying to get a rough estimate of the cost of the vehicle and added accessories.
Thanks Ryan! I thought about trading in my previous BMW into Tesla but they don’t give you all that much for your trade ins. I found a better trade in value at another used car dealership.
I got my windows tinted at EV Studio (locations in Tampa and Sarasota) at a 15% tint. Only other accessories I have is the Tesla wall connector in my garage, floor mats, and some tray organizers.

@@enriquepalacios982 I was going to trade in my 2014 BMW 3218i into Tesla but they offered me like low $8k. I ended up selling it to a local dealership for $9.5k. Even Carvana was going to give me more for the trade-in than Tesla.
Did you get the roof tinted
@@peytonconrad1125 The roof already comes somewhat pre-tinted, so I didn't tint it. Though I did have the option to tint it, I felt like it wasn't as necessary.
i am probably still like 3 years out from getting a Tesla, mainly because i put a deposit down for a Cybertruck about 3 years ago so no telling how much longer it will be. But I may end up getting tired of waiting and get a Model Y instead. Not sure how patient i can be though.
I say why not get a Model Y now and then get that Cybertruck whenever Tesla decides to finally release it? I'm sure you wouldn't regret getting a Tesla and driving it before you get the Cybertruck.

I am going to see what is announced at investor day. Most likely make my decision based on that. You are right though. I know i wouldnt regret either.
@@rfischer1984 Yeah I'd say wait to see what Tesla says on Investor Day and then make a decision. The Model Y is so nice. I've driven my dad's new Model Y Performance and it's super smooth, comfortable, spacious, has an abundance of storage space, and is yet still so super quick and fast.

Thanks! I actually paid the car in full -- so no down payment. I initially was going to trade in my 2014 BMW 328i but Tesla doesn't give the best trade in value. I ended up selling my car to a used car dealership.

Did u tint the top of the car see tru window?
That's the only thing I didn't tint. I figured I would leave it since there's already a slight tint on the roof anyway.
But honestly in hindsight, especially since I live in FL, I should've just tinted the top more because it gets so hot and sunny here.

@@chosenjustin No. Unless you were to buy some aftermarket accessory on Amazon or something that would act as a sunshade. Honestly it's not too big of a deal though. Does the roof let in sun? Yes. But the roof is slightly tinted to prevent all the sunlight from coming in. Also, I always start up my AC a couple minutes before getting into the car.

@@chosenjustin Nice! I think you'll really enjoy it! It does take some getting use to with the lack of buttons/guages and also the one-pedal driving is very different. But it's a fun car to drive! Let me know how you like it.

Total before taxes, fees, or anything was $54,995. Yes, the white on white looks so clean!

White/white is so slick and clean. I paid $895 for Prime XR Plus ceramic tints on the side windows, windshield, and rear windows.

They perform an inspection before Delivery Day but they don't always do the most thorough job. On Delivery Day you should perform your own thorough inspection just in case.

The windows are a 15% tint. The windshield is at a 35% tint. I find it really helps with glare and heat protection from the intense Florida sun.

Nice, but you should've atleast got a different exterior color. White Teslas are a dime a dozen.
Although white is the most common color since it's the color that doesn't cost extra, I actually like it! The white exterior with the white interior looks clean and nice in my opinion. And I'm not sure if you heard, but Tesla just changed it so that the silver is the free color now. So maybe white will be less common now :)

The road noise definitely isn't as quiet as some luxury cars but I find it to still be adequate. Definitely better than cheaper cars.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure but I know you would need to include documents like Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) of the seller, TIN of the taxpayer, date of purchase, sales price, VIN, etc. That's something I myself need to do more research on.

Got my M3P a little over a week ago. I highly suggest doing the screen swivel upgrade. Best upgrade I have made so far, along with the floor mats.
What’s the screen swivel upgrade? How do you go about getting that?

I've heard some say that they don't like it because it sits too low.
I have a 2019….the build quality has improved for sure.
I was really worried about what the build quality was going to be because of all the complaints about them in the past. But I honestly am quite pleasant about the quality on mine.
@@SofieAndStephen they’ve made more model 3s than any other model so they’ve really got that one figured out. Mine is fine inside, but minor panel gaps. Bought it used so I wasn’t too concerned. 😉

I just picked up my Model 3 performance yesterday! Love it! I don't have full self driving. I did get the enhanced self driving. This morning on the way to work my cameras finally calibrated. So, I tried it out from St Petersburg to Brookville this morning. Some hiccups but definitely fun and safe to drive! Plus, I didn't spend any money on fuel! I finally put in a nema 50 amp plug in tonight. I am a industrial electrician. I have the wallcharger. Just waiting to design it correctly to install. Thank you for the review

Thing i hate with model y is yonhabte to regenerative brake. You can't even choose the hardness of it. Long trips i want to use my foot not self driving. I want to role. You actually use less when the car roles by itself. Instead of constantly having to press gas. Dumb tesla
You can actually go into your settings and change the way your accelerator/brakes work. Most people use the Hold setting, which is one pedal driving and allows for Regenerative Braking. However, you can switch the car to Creep, which will mimic how an automatic transmission car would drive how it rolls when you have your foot off the brake.

Nice ride. I also recently picked up my Model 3 on 2/18 at the Fremont, CA factory. My pick up experience was similar to yours, except there were Tesla reps there. Question for you...what percentage did you go with for your window tint?
My delivery experience was overall great, just had to wait 15 min or so for someone to show up in the delivery center to help us out.
The tint on my windows are 15%. They are quite dark.
@@SofieAndStephen Thanks. Your Tesla looks good with the dark tint, it will help keep the inside cool, which will help you save using the battery.
@@daveyvu Yes, I think the tint makes the car look super sporty and slick. And as you mentioned, the tint really helps keep my car cool in the Florida heat.
