TheGore1021 yes that makes alot of sense it is about one year far away well that brings me kinda down but i iam hopping to get the remake at least this year soon
5 Survivors? 1. The Hacker (SS1 Player) 2. Rebecca Lansing (The first human voice greeting you after waking up on Citadel Station via E-Mail) 3. The Soldier (SS2 Player) 4. Rebecca Siddons (Altered by Shodan inside the Escape Shuttle when Shodan was in temporary control of time and space) 5. Thomas "Tommy" Suarez (Possibly altered by Shodan inside the Escape Shuttle by the altered Rebecca)
Those concept art images are absolutely gorgeous to look at. I can already tell that the art direction in System Shock 3 is going to be incredibly strong.
SectionEight I know right. the fact that it's gonna take some time until we get the game, is making me even more impatient. I guess we can wait a year or two. after all we have been waiting for more that 17 years already
What an absolute pioneer of the gaming industry, I cant help but imagine in 20-30 years time when gaming is all consuming and in everybody's lives they will look back at system shock and see it for the piece of art it truly was.
I never did play System Shock, but in System Shock 2 the survivors were Rebecca Siddons, Thomas Suarez, and the main character. I don't think anyone else survived the second game. As for the first game, as I mentioned, I have no idea.
I enjoyed SS1 immensely and certainly wish them the best ofluck, since, as we know, single-player story-driven action games are an endangered species today.
Our father, who art in heaven, Spector be thy name,Thy Kingdom come,Thy will be done,On earth as it is in PC,Give us this day our Thief,And forgive us our limitations,As we forgive those who place design limits against us,And lead us not into money temptation, but deliver us from mediocrity,For thine is the kingdom,The power and the glory,Now and forever in computers,Amen.
The Law I'm pretty sure we playing the same character like we were in the second game. However, when you watch the intro of the second game beginning, it says 40 years later. Which means The Hacker is old by now.
I get that, I was saying the hacker would be like 60 years old and I knew the "nah" soldier would return because I READ THE COMMENT. Plus (i'm checking the system shock wiki right now) the "nah" soldier is ACTUALLY called Soldier G65434-2. Sorry if that's a bit nerdish, but aren't all system shock fans all nerdish in one regard?
Too bad the project has died. I think Warren is be the best person to direct the game, hopefully if Tencent decides to make this game, they will hire him for the job.
I've obviously been wondering about what happened to Shodan after beating her in a boss fight at the end! Because after when I beat her in the fight, it shows a clip of her getting away and becoming a human.
The Hacker from the first game, the woman that helps you from Earth on the first game, the Soldier from the second game and the other two guys that escape in a escape pod in the second game
Hell yeah, for me Prey is System Shock 3. Amazing game, mix of System Shock with Half Life. After System Shock 2 i dont play sci-fi horror that good like new Prey.
You got time to catch up. :D Get System Shock: Enhanced edition. It's cheap. 10 USD at most. It has mouse look, customizable keybinds, high resolution. It takes some tweaking at first to get controls that work for you but once you're set, it's a damn good game. Then play System Shock 2 which is amazing too and very easy to get into. I think better to start with 1 to see where it all started first.
Please let Tommy Wiseau play Tommy Suarez in SS3. I even have the perfect plot. Shoden infiltrates the mind of a vulnerable and confused middle-aged Eastern block male. Boarding Tommy's ship named the USS ROOM, assuming it is uninhabited, you are shocked by what you find. Tommy is going to tear you apart. How well do you understand life?
A successful SS3 would have similar to and excellent atmospheric sound design. Matching claustrophobic interiors with up-dated graphic detail. (not wide open or overly cluttered spaces) Graphic style is more important than you think. Do not discard the old entirely. Adversaries here and there but not everywhere. Video logs to move the story along. Let the original story go except Shodan or an updated Xerxes. Story? You have 70 years of Science Fiction pulp to draw from, (much of it out of copyright) conduct a search and then adapt. If SS3 is just another stupid, gung ho, Halo, assault battle with a maniacal monster or monsters around every damn corner and a hyper detailed cluttered environment. If you do you will have the same old shit and I will not buy it.
In all fairness, it's best to have this kind of outlook, especially since this has already happened to many series over the recent years. BUT if it does deliver like Warren is saying, we are in for something special. But the hype train usually goes in one direction. Disappointment. Still here's hope it's a good game!
Spector will succumb just like everyone else! System Shock 3 should have been made 15 years ago, before the Industry was carved up. IF it ever comes out, and it might not, I can promise it will be cross platform, be designed primarilly with gamepad and 10 year old players in mind, be graphically (and therefore atmospherically) dumbed down to run on the weaker hardware in the consoles and generally be JUST ... ANOTHER ... GAME shipped with the bottom line at the top of the agenda. PERIOD. But we can always hope and dream. After all what else do we have? Except for Quake Champions, XCOM 2, Fallout 4 and Skyrim...
I disagree, I believe Spector knows what he's doing. In making another sequel, he already knows that SS still has quite a large fanbase, so I feel this game is very much going to have those fans of the original series in mind. I like to believe that he's not looking to make a smash-hit success, he's looking to just make something new for the fans, while keeping the aspects of the original series in mind
SS2 has a *cult* fanbase. It is small and zealous and extremely loyal, because those who know what SS2 is (and what it represents in PC and gaming history) will rush to buy or even pre-order a sequel made by Spector himself. BUT it's not a big fanbase. Not by any measure. Spector can make a true sequel and try to match or even exceed the quality of the original and stay true to the mechanics and substance that made SS2 what it was (one of the best games ever made), OR he can make it how I predict it will be made and take home 50x more cash for his efforts. While, as an artist and illustrator and massive fan of the original (I play it every other year to this day), while I want to believe the former ... if I had to bet I would bet on the latter. Just saying how it is.
Depends on what Warren and his team's top priority is: 1.) creative development or 2.) $$$ Given Warren's history and attitude, I'll hazard he is more interested in creating. Warren is one of (if not the only) original developers who made games for *fun*. Garriot, Williams, Crowther, the Miller bros. etc. were all initially interested in exploring the creative potential of new emerging technology. They couldn't care how many people paid them for the trouble. and Warren seems to still have this priority as his chief interest. When video game development began to eschew creativity in favor of $$$, what did he do? He left to go teach game design. And he's only returned as soon as he was able to continue development free from a financial leash. The only way SS3 can fail is if it never sees the light of day. If they actually manage to get this baby out it'll be exceptional. And it doesn't have to be a hit financially, but I'll wager it'll do just fine in that dept.
You gotta BELIEVE pal. I don't see HOW making a new System Shock would en up being a money milker along the way... Unless developpement go really bad ?
It's totally dependant on Spector. Look at Braben and his Elite Dangerous. He made an amazing game to his standard and his awesome vision. He spent every penny pledged on the game (and then some). We CAN HOPE that Warren will do the same thing, but the odds (statistically and historically) are stacked against him. All we can pray for is Spector will give his legacy the same love and care that Braben gave Elite.
Wow dude, Warren Spector is the ideal leader. Hes so team focused and giving credit where credit is due. Mad respect.
Warren Spector's various games have been shaping my gaming experience since I was a wee lad. Don't ever stop
I will gladly give this guy my money for the new System Shock, Thief or Deus ex game that he will make, not some company that bought the licence
Southend busker He won't for sure
Warren seems like a chill dude
Wow! They got a SS2 npc to interview the creator of SS2.
But he's not dead.
but I am XD
You mean SS1 not SS2. Ken Levine was the creator of SS2.
Ken Levine did SS2
So we're getting System Shock 3 and a System Shock Remake? SCORE!
Remake first, then System Shock 3.
TheGore1021 remake should be released ealy this 2018 i really hope so i want it bad and according to my feeling ss3 probably from the middle of 2018
Josh l Unfortunately, it's been scheduled to be released in the end of 2018, because they're still have to work a lot on the game.
TheGore1021 yes that makes alot of sense it is about one year far away well that brings me kinda down but i iam hopping to get the remake at least this year soon
Josh l I'm so sorry to give you guys this message but the remaster was put on a hiatus
5 Survivors?
1. The Hacker (SS1 Player)
2. Rebecca Lansing (The first human voice greeting you after waking up on Citadel Station via E-Mail)
3. The Soldier (SS2 Player)
4. Rebecca Siddons (Altered by Shodan inside the Escape Shuttle when Shodan was in temporary control of time and space)
5. Thomas "Tommy" Suarez (Possibly altered by Shodan inside the Escape Shuttle by the altered Rebecca)
And what of the Edward Diego's son?
Peter Campi ...He died
Our unity is... DisTUrbEd.... Grrrrr!!
System Shock 2 is one of the good old memory games and it's still one of my favorites games.
great to have the man behind the original system shock, I had always preferred the first one over the second one.
What an absolute pioneer of the gaming industry, I cant help but imagine in 20-30 years time when gaming is all consuming and in everybody's lives they will look back at system shock and see it for the piece of art it truly was.
System shock 3, oh hell yes.
I can't belive that this is true!
PCGamingGoodies Yeah it's really a shame
Same audio theme in SS3 as SS2 PLEASE
OMG OMG OMG SYSTEM SHOCK 3 OMG OMG OMG, thanks warren for coming back and making this for us!
Rebeca with public security, Tommy and his girlfriend, and both Hackers.
The person you play in the second game is not a hacker. He's a soldier.
The Law I'm pretty sure we playing the same character like we were in the second game. However, when you watch the intro of the second game beginning, it says 40 years later. Which means The Hacker is old by now.
Maybe the hacker will come back as an old guy?
Pepper Millers That's what I'm saying. After 42 years, the hacker ages, and the soldier still goes into dealing with fighting enemies.
Best wishes to him! Keep it up sir!
Wait so does this mean they are following on from the twist ending of System Shock 2?
Sidney Olsen Povlsen I'm so freaking hyped for this game!!!!
drinkyourtea Both the Hacker and "Nah" Soldier will be returning.😉👌
+Rose Supreme, Though the hacker will be OLD, I'm currently on SS2 and I'm hyped for SS3
Stevie Mcdonut
Obviously. But last time I checked the System Shock wiki (months ago), it was said that both the Hacker and "Nah" Soldier will return.
Thanks for uploading!
Firstname Lastname Cheers
I'm glad there will be a worthy sequel to this series.
Man... 😭
It will be really cool if the SS 3 had some kind of choices throughout the game.
Literally, he started making system shock 3 because of a joke, it's like: hey, lets write another page in gaming bible
Mister Spectre
I hardly wait System Shock 3 :)
A SS3 comeback would be an event.
So excited for this game, and one of the original creators is back!!
Warren Spector is a legend...no doubt!!!
The only system that is getting shocked is how bad the audio is mixed.
System Shock 2 was the greatest fun game I ever had - and Ive played lots....even better than Deus Ex in my opinion and that game was awesome also..
He didn't work on System Shock 2
Mans made a lot of games I love and inspired a lot more games I love
I know the release of this game is going to be next year but can someone tell me which month exactly?
I wonder what the plot twist will be this time.
Oh mah gawd! SS2 was one of my favorite games and I was really bummed with Bioshock. Can't wait!❤
lunitari74 woah now dude ss was classic but bio shock was a fucking jam
lunitari74 woah now dude ss was classic but bio shock was a fucking jam
Bioshock was amazing
Shodan looks less creepy in this game than the other previous two. I guess that means I'm hyped.
5? I can think of three survivors. The other two? No clue.
The Hacker from the first game, the woman that helps you from Earth on the first game, the Soldier from the second game and the other two guys that escape in a escape pod in the second game
Well, that explains it
Damn, that would be a awesome
I wonder how would things go..
Isn't it implied SHODAN kills them at the end of SS2?
Cannot wait :D
Currently playing Prey on nightmare and its a freaking nightmare o.0!!
would u recommend prey to a system shock fan? i am thinking about buying it , but i am not sure if it is worth it
It does have system shock vibe & gameplay elements and the game is roughly 30 hours long if you take your time.
Hell yeah, for me Prey is System Shock 3. Amazing game, mix of System Shock with Half Life. After System Shock 2 i dont play sci-fi horror that good like new Prey.
Andre Ivanovich Dude, I think one of the main level designers for Deus ex 1 worked on it.
sounds promising. i bought it but i didnt play it yet. thanks!
Mister Spector) This guy so nervous
Unity engine?
never played it but it do look like an interesting and unique game
You got time to catch up. :D

Stooooooooked
awfully quiet now...
Still no new fucking info. .Come on Warren. .give us an update or something!
hmm I'm 23... maybe I AM system shock?
where is system shock threeeeeeeeee
33333 THREEE 33333
System Shock was believable until the ending of System Shock 2. There is no way the player would win the boss battle in that manner.
This interviewer is super shy and/or nervous
nice

What a shame.
Now do epic mickey 3
Ask Disney and their closed gaming devision (mobile shit aside)
crewmate yeach
Maybe in future
@@cordia96, that means literally never. They do not need it anymore - they have Battlefront.
Wow, an interviewer who actually listens and does not try to out-hip the boomer because he's not simplified@short or memeified enough.
They'll dumb it down, make it accessible for as big an audience as possible. And in doing so....kill system shock 3 before its even born.
kenshiro katana nah
In all fairness, it's best to have this kind of outlook, especially since this has already happened to many series over the recent years.
BUT if it does deliver like Warren is saying, we are in for something special.
But the hype train usually goes in one direction. Disappointment. Still here's hope it's a good game!
And... They did exactly that. How did you know? ; )
I mean "kill system shock 3 before its even born"
i need this in my l.l.l.l.ife ..... y.you will support this... y.y.you m.microscopic... insects....
His last couple of games have been failures though.

ss2 was the most overrated game i have ever played
pineapple goes on pizza
Sorry?
I think he means madness
Hahaha! No this is way better than any of the garbage out today.
I disagree completely! SS2 is is not nearly as deep or nuanced as it thinks it is. Deus ex is immeasurably better
Bioshock is better than system shock but it's still amazing!
Max Noble low quality bait m8
Gou what
Movout Of The Net what lol
bioshock is childlish not scary casual game. bioshock is system shock parody
System Shock is better.
