I'm Brazilian, and this car reminds me a lot of a movie I watched as a child: Christine, the killer car! Maybe you know. A hug and congratulations on the work.
My aunt donna cane into a little money back in 1964 and went out a bought a white with a red interior 1960 Impala Convertible. She loved that car so much that years after she stopped driving. That Impala sat and rusted away in her backyard.
That 59 Impala would be an outstanding car to get back out onto the road. I would love to have one….but finding one near St Louis, is not easily done…. Congrats
@sstlouisstevel . . . ironic to think that there was a G.M. assembly plant in North St. Louis that thousands of those 50's and 60's Chevrolets rolled out of . . . the old days .
@@urbanurchin5930certainly a good point. I imagine that it’s a combination of years of salt used on snowy roads… plus the potential, that it took too long for me to realize just how cool these cars really are….. maybe someday I can find a 2-door project car, and go from there.
I'm only at the 2:20 mark so I might be jumping the gun on calling this out but I hope you are aware of the California bumpers that '59 is sporting. Very desirable to say the least and in pretty good shape. The intake manifold on the trunk is off of a Toyota 2F 6 cylinder, probably out of that FJ-40 Land Cruiser I spotted in the background. Hook a brother up on that Land Cruiser 🤙🏽❤.
SOOOO many good ones that need saved. I have a 58 nomad now, so I'm partial, but cant tell you the last time i saw a 59 impala there. After selling my 59 Biscayne, i always wanted another 59. But who knows what else may follow us home in the future
Supremes are the most underrated wheels, a set of 13x7 reverse Supremes with a 1.5” white wall is literally the coolest shit you could put on a 60’s / 70’s Chevy… this 59 is super cool sir, the wheels look amazing on it !!! My goal in life is to build a 64 impala convertible coupe with those same wheels exactly.. I’m going with a Harley Davidson color called “Shark Skin Blue” with a kaki colored top, S.S. buckets with the automatic in the center console, kaki vinyl SS seat stitch pattern with the shark skin blue offset for the inserts on the seats, steering wheel painted stripes with the blue and kaki offset, 283, 2spd power glide, hugger headers, 2” pipe, 12” glass packs w/ eraser chrome tips dumped under the rear bumper.. corvette IFS in the front, 4 link in the rear with a pan hard bar, she’ll be sitting about maybe 1.5 inches lower in the front and about 3” higher in the rear so she’ll have just a hair of rake so when you look at the profile the top when it’s up will be level with the street.. yes sir.. I love these cars !!! 💯💯💯
I absolutely love Supremes, i have ran them on several cars. In fact i knew the Supremes i put on the 59 would fit, because i took them off my old 59 Biscayne. They are just a huge pain with the multi fit style. They may defiantly may stay though! your 64 sounds killer too
@@RetroRidesofBend thanks sir, I’m disabled on disability income so I’m going to have to definitely pull some type of miracle out my ass to make it happen.. but I’m going to do everything myself until it’s done right, because if i ever get one it will definitely be a miracle, and I know that I won’t be able to afford paying someone else to do it.. except for the upholstery, I will definitely farm that out, it’s cool you guys are in Bend, I’m from Portland, I have a few friends that live there, it’d be cool to see some longer possibly some 1 hour vids from you guys !!! Love and respect goes out sir !!! 💯💯💯
How does one pick which of these cars and trucks to save? Many many nice projects and so few left to make whole again. It does look like there are many of the same models around to make a whole auto again
@@RetroRidesofBend As many know now, ford did not lead in using galvanization of metals but they did start in one plant starting in fifty seven. I can't remember why they were given credit for this process but somehow and way ford was considered a leader in this. So that said, nineteen fifty seven was a banner year for ford and they outsold all the others almost combined. Try to find any fords from fifty seven to sixty two, not too many are left in good condition much less great condition. I know cause I am that dang old. People kid me and say Jesus was my babysitter. In nineteen sixty two, I was almost fourteen and where we lived, it was close enough that even the few cops who came to visit family or friends sat in a bar and got drunk with the locals, us kids sat in the car/truck waiting for mom and dad to leave at quitting time. Times have changed but some traditions haven't as back then, vehicles had style, beautiful trim with real chrome or stainless steel. It did not make any difference, if it was a Studebaker or Chrysler product, be what it be, you could say exactly what car or truck by the looks of them.
Dude I'm Going to tell You a sad story, Brother, Bought a 1960 impala, off a old lady, Mint condition for 300 dollars back in 1991,it was a push button auto Low geared bad , the car would not go over 55 mph, He was a Drinker, He would not sell me the car, instead He beat it to death, and junked it
Love watching your doing Brother, New Subscriber here. Finally a suggestion from the TH-cam algorithm Lord’s that’s worth a shit! May I have stumble to a gem finally. I look forward to the next one. Keep it safe out there, sir.

Glad these cars are getting another chance. Keep the Classics Alive!
Agree!
Yep! Keep the videos of those two cars coming. Great saves!
Thank you! Thats the plan!

Christine was a great movie, I wish this car could fix itself too!
Thanks for the great video man there's a lot of cool cars there I'm a geezer I can't build cars anymore but I can enjoy this thanks have a great day
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, check out part 1 chick in coupe rescue for a more in depth walk around the yard
Cool video. Congratulations on the great cars! The previous owner is the one who really saved them. Probably were destined to scrap many years ago.
Totally agree, he saved so many that would of been gone years ago
Love the 59 my aunt had one when i was a child so many good time in that car.
One of the best body styles in my opinion
This is the kind of videos that really matter !! Keep doing what you’re doing!!!
Thank you!

Great cars, wish they could all be saved!
Those wheels with white walls are my favorite. Saving for a set as we speak for my 79 monte with juice. Sick of cleaning wires lol.
Hard to beat!
Nice Finds
Took a while to gain access but was worth it!
Gotta love those Big Fin 59's. I had a Biscayne, they were a good little sleeper with a small block.
I had a 59 Biscayne as well, loved it!
The 59 is going to be a nice when restored, but I'm diggin' that Desoto too!
They both have potential!
lots of work , but a good score! Well done
Definitely!

A 1968 mustang is my dream but it will never be mine😢😢😢
Don’t give up, many out there still
it is very difficult for me😢😢😢@@RetroRidesofBend
where are these cars located? Looks like a bunch could be put back on the road. Didn't see much rust on them. Which is really nice.
The owner asked to keep it private, but there are many that are close to being drivers.

Get the rims of the 36, they are very cool and hard to find.
The originals were gone, but I’m sure there are more around
Very cool car
Thank you!
BEAUTIFUL
Thank you! 😊
I need dramamine to watch this video. Horrible! but thank you for rescuing one of my favorite cars! The one and only 59 with teardrop tail lights.
Obviously not professional camera people 🤪
I love the supremes. I am going to buy a set for my 64 impala. Off hand do you know the size, backspace and tire size?

Someone is confused, I don't think Chevy had a push button trans in the 50s-60s,
I didn't know Chevrolet made any of their vehicles with push button?🤔
Go back and get the 58 that was near the 59...
Would like to!
Nice
