Ask yourself how your friends would look at you. Ask yourself how your family would look at you. Ask how your significant other would look at you.
This part is very important, especially because it is arguably the most difficult thing to do. *Think about how you will feel afterwards, if YOU would agree with the things you are doing.*

I started writing lyrics with no music (plain poems), but I started to feel overwhelmed because in almost evert one of them I ended up dying, hurted or having... dark thoughts.

I hear from many different places that to have lustful tendencies needs to be kept in, controlled: that it's something undesirable about you. To me I view it in a similar manner to anger: anger isn't even necessarily a bad part about you! It's what you DO when you're angry, and how OFTEN you are angry that makes a difference! Same thing with lust I'd argue. To feel lustful for someone isn't necessarily evil in itself, it's how you act upon those urges and who you spend your time with that makes the difference! 😊

It's also the frequency and the intensity that matters for both anger and lust. Even if you can control it, if they are too frequent and/or too intense you may feel overwhelmed. I'm having a really hard time with lust and i can't control myself. i'm doing too much sex with too many people and when i don't I search for people to have sex with or I feel depressed. After watching this video i decided to unistall hookup apps that I had on my phone. I don't know how much time i will resist and if i will make it but i prefer to feel depressed instead of being driven by lust. I just feel like an animal at this point.

Lust is hard for some people out there to control, I know a few but that’s life you know it helps and then it doesn’t help.
I have been so lustful in the past, and accidentally seen so much inappropriate content due to others being lustful that my triggers just stopped activating due to me being desensitized to that form of media. This helped me see people as actual people instead of objects, not the best strategy to remove triggers, would not recommend.

I have cycles of lust. I can go for about a month where I don't have a single lustful thought, then a few weeks where it's almost all I do. There are points of balance in-between, and I always feel best when I'm there. Thankfully, I have a very VERY lustful boyfriend to both satisfy those needs when they come up, and bring them back when they go away. I had a feeling of missing out when I was growing up, so that sort of messed my mind up even going into adulthood. I saw women as a prize and meat, rather than actual human beings. Nothing wrong with finding someone attractive, but if that's all that you see to them, then it isn't healthy.

Lust is felt with selfishness and too much lust will program you to feel more comfortable seeing other people as objects to use for your own pleasure. You no longer see them as someone's daughter, son, brother or sister

@@Ticoryta No. First of all nobody should want satisfy their pleasure with someone they don't trust. We've normalized instant gratification when it comes to physical pleasure and people don't see their body as something sacred anymore. So people who use other people as nothing but a way to satisfy their needs, are doing nothing but acting on impulsive behavior due to their lack of control. And if they keep acting on their desperation for pleasure, they'll find it much harder later down the line to find a partner in life because they've been conditioned to go find the next available human online any time they feel lonely and they don't know how to put their sexual energy into anything else so it's just easier to sleep with a stranger than to deal with their emotions 🤷♀️

4:52 you say focus on something physical or mental, but for lust specifically, I think that social support is even more effective and important for people. So it would have been nice to see some social activity presented here in addition to the solo activities you presented (reading, solving cube, biking).

@@lindyloohooIm currently in a relationship with a friend online (i heard their voice and they are around the same age as me, we two are boys and of course we tell us eachother stuff [uhm…..mostly sexual…yk..]) i have found that i primarily started this relationship because i was absolutely enclosed in my house and my social skills were drastically decreasing, so he helped me increase my motivation and happiness, however i want to know if what im doing is right.

Vids like this are the only way I can write characters that are the polar opposite of me, which is kinda fun to do sometimes. Also going into the many journals I have of how this works for writing stories.

I would also add to that, avoiding environments or people who deliberately (or otherwise) trigger a lustful response in you. And avoiding those kinds of friendships, or at the very least to have strong boundaries in place with them, and be careful with the sorts of other people they might introduce you to.
Some ‘types’ of people like to trigger lustful responses in others, just for the fun of it. They might or might not even intend on following through with it. It helps boost their self esteem, effectively at the expense of yours.
Some people also pretend that they don’t do it deliberately, because they don’t want to get called names. But by the age of 25 for instance, very few people are actually naive enough to not realise that dressing in revealing outfits doesn’t ’trigger’ certain kinds of reactions from other people.
Most mature women are well aware of the sort of effect they can have on men. Some women act responsibly with this, whereas others like to act provocatively. Avoid the 2nd type, and don’t believe them when they try to downplay it or when they behave differently around you. It is a performative response, not an authentic response.
So adult women shouldn’t wear crop tops or other outfits like that because men get aroused by it? I wear them because I’m confident in my body and I’m not doing it to please men, plus they’re comfortable as hell when it’s really hot outside. Hell, some active wear while working out is revealing, would you tell a woman not to wear those as well because men at the gym might look at her and get turned on?

@@_notsaf I know a couple of women whom I'm friends with who have such strength of character and self awareness. The reason I'm only friends with them is because owing to my own damaged past, it often takes me too long to trust people, and so they got into relationships with other guys. I was disappointed, but not angry with them. I'm grateful to have them as friends, and the other thing that differentiates those women from the 'average' is that we are genuine _friends,_ not the "friendzone" bs. There are no mixed signals or flirting involved, just genuine respect and empathy for one another.
Making better, authentic, friends this way has helped me recalibrate myself and be less cynical towards women and even people in general. Adopting these kinds of standards towards women comes at the risk of occasionally being called "narrow minded", "insecure" or "controlling" by women with promiscuous dating patterns, but it should not matter much what they think anyway if you're genuinely not interested in them. Took me a few years to grow out of the impulse to argue with these sorts of idiots.
Many years ago I had a conversation with a guy in university, who was of the mindset that "all women are gold diggers". Regardless even of whether that statement is true or not, his mindset alone would predispose him to be disproportionately exposed to gold diggers. Because, if you believe that 'all women are gold diggers', and _even if_ just 1% of women are gold diggers (which I know is more than that), your chosen method for attracting women will be tailored to attracting gold diggers. And thus, all you will attract is gold diggers, thereby reinforcing the original incorrect belief. This is called self-selection bias, furthermore creating something of a self-reinforcing feedback-loop of his worldview. He would go into overdraft to withdraw £1000 from his bank account, so he could 'subtly' flaunt it at the bar when on holiday in poorer countries. No surprise, he attracted gold diggers, and when they found out he was broke, they would dump him and leave him complaining that they were only interested in his money. And he got robbed once.
To meet good men, or good women, or good people in general, you have to start believing that good people exist, before you can start to attract them. Even if it is as little as 5% of people or whatever, that's good enough. It's too much effort and not practical trying to be friends with everybody anyway.
