I do wish the USA had more access to these smaller utilitarian type vehicles that would be street legal. Rural areas and rural residents would love to love to be able to use them as their dual every day vehicle as well as their occasional work vehicle. Something of this type would be just as handy for running to the grocery store as it is oils to make the weekly run to the local land fill.
It sucks that protectionist laws prevent US citizens from driving an imported vehicle on the road if it's less than 25 years old. Government regulators tell us we must only drive safe vehicles, and we must only drive fuel efficient vehicles, and then tell us we can't drive modern, safe, fuel efficient vehicles.
As a rural american I would not want to drive this you this is the opposite of a utilitarian vehicle, that's why we use pick ups like f150s or Silverados
@@turkeyswissandcheddaronwho8203 you are thinking of much more rural and much more utilitarian than I was thinking. I am out in the boonies in the hills of north georgia but still only two miles from my downtown area of my little country town. This would be the trick for my weekly run to the grocery store or to the local land fill another 2 miles away to haul off my trash. I don't have to contend with big rigs on the roadways and being retired, I can just stay home if the weather is bad. But I can understand, if you are having to deal with larger trucks, faster cars/trucks, or even large loads, these little (golf truck size) things would be no use to you whatsoever and would be in your way. I get your point entirely. I agree, where regular traffic operates these would be in the way to be sure.

I hope daihatsu or Toyota will make a battery powered model like this one for the ASEAN market with long range and powerful motor. This I think will be a hit in these markets. Heed my advice this will surely sell real well if this is made.
It’s existing hybrid model powered by Toyota but not track type 1box type only in Japan. Reason is price.

The bed of the truck is totally useless.
