so how do i go about brightening a color channel? i noticed in your tutorial your green color channel was really really dark, and mine turned out the same way following your steps. im trying to get a rear light to be positional, brake, and indicator but the red color channel is dark and the green color channel is almost completely black, so the masks are barely even visible.

When you are overlaying like that you'll need to adjust the B&W image to get the r/g/b to be brighter. If the image has a lot of dark grey in it, it won't be as bright red. Experiment with overlaying with white first or something inverting the image first. There are many tutorials here on image manipulation.

Would you happen to know how to edit or create your own hookups to use for lighting? Would love to see you a tutorial on that from you. Your tutorials go in depth and have a great step by step on how to do the task.

      Flares or accessory hookups?

@@Halffastgaming the flares. Like editing the colors or changing the function of the light like headlight or turn signal.

I feel as though some of the information given towards the end of the video should've been mentioned in the middle while doing the adjustments. It's a bit annoying to follow through all those steps only to then find out, "Hey, this didn't work out correctly, here's why, so let's go back." That kind of information would be helpful before setting off on everything.
Also, maybe because this video is over a year old and things have changed in the game but, every light mask texture I've seen has white where the bright spots would be (minus the Color channel), not the mismatched combinations of red, green, and blue. And, on a final note, I was following along with using Photoshop along with DXTBmp and it was the areas with empty space that lit up in Blender, and not the other way around. :(

Different programs produce different results depending on what you are looking at. Your alpha channel may be bright white in one program, but in blender it will display as black, just as the SCS lightmasks do.

@@Halffastgaming Hmm, okay, I'll invert the image in PS and see if that was the cause of it.
