This what if was pretty good, I like how it’s basically an AU where Sonic takes things a lot more seriously but doesn’t straight up kill anyone he sees bad, Its a way to keep things similar but still new & I like that I hope we get a part 2 to this to see what happens later down the line
This Sonic is more dangerous for Mobius or Earth because this Sonic would push the doctor to darker, greater more diabolical plans just to beat this Sonic.
I really like this what if it’s so good and well written. Sonic’s a lot more serious and less deterred from killing but he doesn’t instantly resort to it and isn’t turned into a merciless killing machine. He didn’t try to kill Eggman at first but as Eggman became a more increasing dangerous threat to others, he saw it as the best course of action to stop him from hurting people like Tails & Amy. Also the Metal Robotnik twist was amazing, I didn’t see that coming, what a way to get me hooked for a part 2.
I kinda get the feeling the Tails in this what if might end up a bit like Nines, trying his best to make up for his shortcomings with technology whilst also becoming a bit disillusioned with Sonic
I think their is a misconception about sonic. Sonic is not a hero, he doesn't do what he does because he is noble or anything like that. He does what he does because he feels like it. The reason why he never killed Eggman isn't because he's against killing, it's because he actually enjoys his battles with Eggman, he likes the challenge it gives him. The reason why people think sonic is a hero with a no kill rule is because of Ian Flynn and idw comics. Honestly Sonic and the black knight perfectly encapsulates who sonic is as a character.
Sonic wasn't eager about killing in the black knight either. He stopped Knuckles from killing himself and saved Blaze. He also doesn't kill Merlina. I do state in this video that the normal Sonic could be pushed to killing someone and I also point out he is not employed as the planet's defender.
This has always been an odd argument. It isn't up to what the person believes that makes them a hero but their actions. If he keeps being heroic, he is a hero. The reason Sonic never usually kills is because of his philosophy of freedom. Once Eggman has been disarmed, he leaves, giving Eggman the choice to change.

well I agree he's more serious now, I also feel like he's also written more coldly. I agree Sonic wouldn't take Tails along, but I feel Sonic would still feel that same...admiration? For the kid. Maybe after the events of Sonic 2 or 3 (don't remember the time gap between 2 and 3) he would train the kid up. Get to know him better. Apologize for hurting his feelings but explaining he doesn't want him to get hurt. As for Knuckles? Yes Sonic was concerned about Eggman, but he never really even tried to talk to Knuckles. Even if Sonic is more serious, he should still be a friendly guy and get to know Knuckles a little better. Even if they're not friends, they more or less left as enemies which just isn't like Sonic.
The idea was Sonic wanted to confront Eggman, then Knuckles knocked the Super out of him and tried to make off with the Emeralds. The guilt Sonic felt would impact his thought process, thus he just wants to get Knuckles out of the way. He wasn't trying to criple the Echidna or anything, he just didn't want to waste time.
Cool as always. But if you ever need a suggestion on a topic to do a what if on: What if Sonic and Mario met (not at the Olympics, though this could act as a fun prequel showing us how they actually first met ).

I’d love to see a serious Sonic go up against Shadow, mainly because It’s possible Sonic may actually fail to save the day since he wouldn’t have anyone to help him. Forces would also be very interesting to see since serious or not, it’s clear that Sonic was just much weaker than Infinite when they first met.

I've been planning a reboot around this exact idea; a darker, grittier take on the entire franchise. And it gets *dark* at times, in ways that would never be allowed in Sonic media.

Tails is actually the scariest Sonic character Almost as fast as Sonic and as smart if not smarter then Eggman He'd probably just be unstoppable when the plot doesn't just want Sonic in the spotlight at all times

Nice video! Personally, I don't think Knuckles would let Sonic go, though. In the original timeline, it's not just that Eggman betrays him, but he also sees more and more of him during their encounters, and comes to understand that he's not so ruthless. With a version of Sonic that *is* so ruthless, though, I think Knuckles would be more proactive in protecting his emerald, and I think he would immediately go after Sonic, after defeating Mecha.

The cards told her she would meet Sonic, so I think she would still be on little planet before Sonic get's off of it.

He did more damage to it here than in normal Sonic 2, so it cannot be repaired in Sonic 3

Nice video! Personally, I don't think Knuckles would let Sonic go, though. In the original timeline, it's not just that Eggman betrays him, but he also sees more and more of him during their encounters, and comes to understand that he's not so ruthless. With a version of Sonic that *is* so ruthless, though, I think Knuckles would be more proactive in protecting his emerald, and I think he would immediately go after Sonic, after defeating Mecha.
Fair. My thought process was that since Sonic agreed to leave there would be little point in continuing the fight.
@@TheRealMightyEmperor I get that, I just think that he'd be a bit on edge after getting beaten down, and seeing the master emerald being actually used, and he already didn't give Sonic much of a chance in the opening cutscene.
