There is potential to go fancy here with white plastics and masking tape etc. U could also to it in multiple layers, making like a heat map style 😅 thanks for sharing!
THANK YOU! this is exactly what I was looking for! I need a specific lego piece that is incredibly rare in red, wehich is the color I need, yet its very common in other colors. But question, does this mix work with the powder version of the dye?
You could try the powder, but regular RIT dye is formulated for dying fabric like cotton, and my guess is it won't work on plastic. RIT Dyemore is formulated for working on polyesters, which is why it works on plastic.
really really really really cool... thanks. Hee, I know that big white one is probably an offstring throw, but I feel like finding some thin, wide steel rings and put just inside the rims.
I know this was 3 years ago, but I’m wondering if you remember how the dye held up against scratching. Wondering if this would be an effective direction for electronics (minus being dipped of course).
i just came from a different video that used the same technique with hdpe and it was only surface deep. With the fact that there is minimal bleed under the glue it would suggest that abs is the same.
One of your yoyo's happened to be partially clear. Does the clear part get some sort of coloring? Because I didn't really see anything and I'm hoping to customize some clear plastic myself
So you don't heat the dye at all? This is crazy, I just warped some ABS keycaps because everything I read said dyemore required heat of 180 F or above.
Little rant here about something that has been bothering me. I see people begging for subs in the comments all the time. Not only is it a waste of a comment and totally off topic from whatever the video is talking about, but let me tell you something... quantity of subs does not matter. Quality matters. People will sub to you if they dig what you're doing. If people sub just because you ask them to, they probably aren't going to watch your videos, meaning they're nothing but a number in your sub count. If someone subs because they like what you're about, they will watch. I would rather have 200 subs from people that care than 500k subs from people that don't give a squat and don't watch my videos. Quality ALWAYS beats Quantity. Put your time and effort into content and not your sub count. If you have good content, subs will come. Also, quit begging the creators for free stuff and giveaways all the time. It's incredibly rude and says "I'm only here on the off chance that I'll get something for free from it". Just don't do it. *mic drop.

DUDE! This is AWESOME!!! Definitely going to give it a try.
+The Brandon Vu yeah it's really easy also
I'm planning on dying a doll made of ABS, so this was very helpful. Thanks!

Awesome brother!!
your supposed to boil it at 200 degrees then put you plastic in the mix and leave on the boil until its as dark as you want it

Im hoping I can do this with my 3DS back Plates. I want to give it a nice Green color
They came out awesome
Hi! Can I also use nail polish remover aceton? It says it's 100% aceton
Yeah, same stuff.
Wow cool - good for you. Would this dye work on a clear water bottle? Thanks for video!

6:42 has someone been watching trailer park boys? Haha
Trying to find a way to dye stickerless Rubik's cubes. I hope this works.

Why the acetone? Can you do it without it?
Can i dye plastic coca cola bottles with rit?
how about delrin material.. is it work ???
Does the dye leech out.
Do you have to use RIT dyemore or can it be any dye?
Acetone down the sink? Nice.
So you don't heat the dye at all? This is crazy, I just warped some ABS keycaps because everything I read said dyemore required heat of 180 F or above.
Is it possible to every few minutes, take it out and then if and you’re not satisfied, put it back in to darken more?
+Akiya Burst yea
ima try golf balls now!
Do more balisong videos
Hello friend can I ask you 2 questions? does this dye or it creates a film of said color? second, have you tried PBT plastic?
If you leave it long enough, the plastic will be the same color as the dye throughout.
@@Ilikedahrice Cool
You also need to consider that the water cooled over time and the best results came from the two yo-yos you dyed first
Will this affect the grind finish of the yoyo ?
Did it?
...Time to make my Killua yoyo...

+Rm Kennedy the variant in white
+Dylan Kowalski available very soon
Omg close the water when you talk to the camera my dude, is killing me
Wish Mr. Kowalski could lose the nasal component of voice because the underlying tone is quite nice...and um, you know, so...
4th boys
I tried this once.
But then my car exploded and caught my hamster on fire.
Did I miss a step or is this normal?
Video starts at 5.28. When I see a title like yours I expect to see a video about dying plastic the colour you actually want. Not some random mess.
+Tony Fisher if you want a color a solid color you just skip the glue part. Splash patterns are super popular on yoyos so I wanted to try that.
If you start with white you get the expected color. I think there is nothing wrong with an irregular design.
Acetone melts ABS.
DO NOT DO THIS.
Not that I don’t like the yo-yo videos
I'm a solid colour guy but that Variant is ridiculous.
Please turn off the water when you're not using it :(
I came here for this exact comment
