My car was in an accident, and I've been slowly re-building it. I have a 2011 z4 E89, and it's the same thing with the 93b2 airbag/ seat belt. When I bought it, the car started and ran no problem, but I knew I had to replace the airbag and seatbelt pre tensioner. What I did notice before I replaced the airbag and pre-tensioner was that the BST igniter cable was disconnected, but the bst itself looked fairly intact. (I understand that when the BST blows it can look burned, but mine looked pretty clean) Anyway, I replaced the airbag and seatbelt, connected the igniter cable, cleared the codes, however, and I'm still getting the 93B2 code and the horn still does not work (even thought ALL the switches on the steering wheel work). So, what caught my attention in your video was that you thought the cable you used came from a different car.....Do you think a similar cable from a different model may work? given similar lengths and connections? I'm so close to wrapping this car up!

Im working on a hybrid has same code but everything ohm out good. All I did was reset the system then clear code, and it went away. So before doing a physical test just do a reset first l

Thank you very much. It was exactly the issue on my car (E90 Limousine M47 120 kW, 2006). You should actually win a price for this.. Very happy now again..

Can I replicate what you did with the decade box with a digital multimeter?

An update on the 9448 MRS / airbag fault. The cause of the fault code turned out to be a broken small black wire emerging from the insulation on the main battery cable at the jump start point in the engine bay. I think it was chewed by a mouse. Wire repaired , air bag light gone. Hope this helps someone.

I’m having the same issue of airbag light on , on my 2011 BMW X1 e84 , I scanned it and it’s showing fault code A3B3 - Instrument cluster no message from Multiple restraint system

Thank you for this insight on the BST. I have a 9448 MRS fault code on a 2012 Z4 -battery lead diagnosis - open circuit, line, during self test. Looks like I may have a similar problem . The red insulation on your battery lead looks like it shows signs of overheating . Thanks again, good video.

Spot on as always. Did you take the front bumper off to change the brake light bulb?

How's she goin'? The solution always looks to be so simple. It's the journey to get that is difficult eh!!! Nice repair and trouble shooting. Take care!!

Interesting issue. It's difficult to tell on the video but did that battery lead show signs of overheating due to the high R value? Cheers Igor
