Worked for me so i wanted to add something. In my case too high resistance was caused by the metal plate in yellow connetor that goes into black fem connector. This metal plate is supposed to be locking that connector but for some reason it started to touch pins and caused increased resistantion. I`ve dismantled this yellow connector and took that metal plate out and it works as it should now

I have had this issue on and off for a couple of years. I replaced the longish lead on the other side of the black and yellow connector (available from BMW) and it fixed the issue for a year. I have the problem again and having removed the plug from the BST I found high resistance on the cable, as you did. It seemed OK for continuity, but high resistance. I opened the plug from the BST end and even with careful handling, both of the connectors snapped off. I assume they were corroding as the copper wire was also greenish. I have ordered new connectors and shortened the wire to get back to decent copper and am hopeful this will sort the issue. BMW don't appear to sell the short wire needed for some reason. I currently have the resistor "fix" in place, but would rather have the proper functionality if possible without replacing the whole BST and cable. Good video with good explanation of the issue.

Good find. Wouldn't be easier to cut the faulty wires and add 2x new. Solder everything. It will be permanent fix. But i'm not sure if heat from soldering will triger pyrotechnic inside bst?

My error happened as well after battery pulled and mechanic put it back after a test. Starter was replaced. Also I don't have a scanner etc. how can I set it to retest the resistance?

Ever figure this out ? I’m dealing with it now. Same situation with mechanic and now I have seat belt and airbag light.

Hi, From your description I would say that it is battery related issue. mostly happens if a battery is low or when changed to a new one. Start with simple things. Reset all the errors, drive for let's say 100 miles and check if the faults show up again or not. Also, make sure the terminals are clean and secured tightly, a lose negative or positive terminal can/will throw random errors. When changing the battery, it needs to be coded as well.
