    MSI is the benchmark for consumer mobos in my opinion, cant really go wrong with them and the BIOS GUI is some of the best out there. Thanks Mike and Kath.

      i agree, expect the AM5 range started off rather hit and miss, but like i said in the stream, i will definitely be looking at that again soon with fresh eyes and updated BIOS to see where we are at the beginning of 2024

    Nice to see how every generation the "model name" spec improves. B550 gaming plus look entry level whereas this Z790 versions looks high spec. With all those m.2s no need for sata ssds. Assume not shared ports. What psu is needed for 2x8 cables? Thanks for reviewing & will look forward to updates Mike and Kath 🐈👍

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah the price keeps rising with the specs though :-)
      no shared PCIe lanes the Z790 chipset fills in the gaps where needed.
      and PSU wise i would think 650w or more really for a balanced system, you don't really need the extra EPS CPU plug unless you are really gunning it

    7200mhz is the staple and the best bang for your buck ram... you get huge improved 1% lows and higher over all frame rate. Personally bought this motherboard and tbh its everything you need. this motherboard in my opinion is the best bang for your buck z790 motherboard. Great purchase if you do decide to snag one!

    Hi Mike, right in time with this review as I wanted to purchase it myself for my 14700k build. I have one dilemma: I wanted to get 32 gb of corsair 7200 mhz ram but for stability reasons i am inclined to go for the 6000 mhz ones. What is your take on this? Would i be ok with the 7200 ones?

    hi mike, your review was very helpful, now I pretty much figured out what this motherboard can give me, and I think this is the most ideal for me now the problem and find all the other components.
    according to you what can be a good build around 500 euros? obviously considering houses, fans, gpu, ram, ssd, etc...
    in any case maximizing performance at the expense of appearance, is not a computer that will be seen easily.
    P.S. I’ll watch some more of your videos to understand more about the components that I should get.

    Hello Mike were you able to figure out the bottom PCI Express if it was X 4 or X1? I have the same board with a sound blaster ZX sound card in it, do you think you would make any difference using the X1 slot versus the X4 slot? Because my graphics card is too big and I don't have enough space to put it in the third slot so it has to be on the very last fourth slot.
