    Having currently own an ASUS Z690-A D4, I see a lot of these features that I really appreciate (especially the GPU release, access to lower m.2 drives) that are now more accessible to what I think of as a mainstream product. It really feels like ASUS is stepping forward with things that should really be standardized amongst more boards. Still wish we could all get a LCD readout instead of debug lights even at this tier and higher but this is a step in the right direction.

      Oh wow that is a can of worms there. I’m not exactly sure what TH-cam does. Obviously, the viewer needs a HDR monitor to view HDR content. If they don’t have it, then I imagine it would be presented in SDR. As for recording HDR, you need a capture card that can record in HDR. Asus offers these capture cards.

    Got the ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI a couple months back. Running it with a 14700k, 32GB 6000Mhz and 3080ti.
    Boards solid as.. Never under stood paying top dollar for boards.
    Even back when i'd run flagship GPUs in SLI and 3090k or 2600k with mid range boards always ran fine. Came from a 9900k and mid range board and they never miss a beat.

    I think I missed something, you can fire it up without ram to get the led to indicate, and you can "HOT-INSTALL" expensive ram On-The-Fly" and it does not Zapp-o, or just turn off the motherboard? I been around a long time... was stoned and tried to install an expansion card while a box was live, it shut down immediately.

    If only it came with a manual that had clear instructions in it.
    If I am to believe what it says about power connectors I should connect both 8-pin CPU connectors. But I only need to power a 65W watt CPU, so what's the point? And what happens if I only connect one? Some people have reported stability issues, others says it works just fine with 1 connector.
    And you can't ask Asus for support. That's why everyone who has bought this particular board is very confused.

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In my experience, it’s best practice to plug in what you have available. If the CPU doesn’t require more power, it won’t draw it. I’ve also used motherboards before and only have plugged in one connector. I didn’t have any issues. I find it hard to confirm any stability issues are related to the connector. With Windows being so finicky itself, that’s hard to confirm.

      @@ErockOnTech Thanks for the advice. I noticed that the included leaflet (sorry, Asus, I can't call it a manual) says you need to connect both plugs, so that's what I ended up doing, only to find out that Windows 11 is quite different from Windows 10, but not in a positive way, to put it mildly. Constant nagging to make me use (and pay for) Microsoft product which I don't need. It's also very user-unfriendly, with many options missing and others in weird location.
