Witness Said "He Was Just Going For It" When A Van Hit A Train In Iron Mountain, MI | Jason Asselin

I didn't get the van vs train (ELS 501) crash on video, but I did talk to an eyewitness from the Music Tree who said he saw the whole accident as it happened.. He said "He was just going for it" as the crossing was activated and the train was approaching. He said the train crossed first and the VAN HIT THE FREIGHT TRAIN on the other side, he then dialed 911 as others rushed to the aid of the driver who suffered no or minor injuries.
This is the 2nd vehicle vs train crash that I've heard of in 2 years here downtown Iron Mountain, Michigan. The Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad has an "No Train Horn" rule they are following in the city, but maybe that needs to be changed. I feel as though people just don't care about trains, sometimes just ignoring the crossings or are preoccupied while driving..
I caught up with the train at the end of the video, it appears the vehicle hit the back of the locomotive near the back axle and plow. I tried slowing the video down so you could see..
