A couple years back, I test drove a TA 392 with a stick in Destroyer Gray. I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. When I got back in my Mustang V-6 (300HP), I felt like I was in a Prius.
I love the challenger, I just wish they would redo the dashboard and center console. It’s so bland and not unique, has no style to it. Looks like they just came up with the quickest idea and went with the first one that came to mind.
I have a 2021 Scatpack challenger in Frostbite and absolutely LOVE this car. The color is beautiful, I love driving it but when I’m not I find myself standing outside and looking at it.
I like having a narrow body. Its more loose in turns than a widebody would be and I enjoy feeling my scat pack slide a little. Makes me smile every time. Its truly a great car.

In my unimportant opinion, Chrysler continues to do what Ford and GM fail to see even though it’s right in their faces. They continue to pump out rear wheel drive V8 engine cars with multiple special editions to keep them interesting. The super bees 🐝, Daytona, Demon editions are AWESOME. The challenger and Charger are pretty old architecturally yet the charger managed to almost break a sales record in 2019 in the age of declining sedan sales. The challenger outsells the newer and more fresh camaro. The enthusiast community eats these cars up and people continue to race them legally and ( illegally in Houston and LA). These cars have more than paid themselves off and Dodge has recently said they are in no rush to replace them and I don’t blame them. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Plus GM and Ford are doing them a favor discontinuing their sedans which creates a pull to Dodge cars. As usual great video joe!
You're correct that the Challenger and Charger have been the bright spots in the Dodge lineup. And for Dodge that's a VERY good thing. Without those models the brand would undoubtedly be out of business. Even so, there's a question of how many consumer fish (i.e.consumers) are left in the shrinking sea where the Challenger and Charger are dropping their nets. As you note, sedan sales have been shrinking by double digits for about six years. And that's likely to be nothing compared to what is happening in 2020. Estimates of first quarter sales of all vehicles for the first quarter of 2020 in January were 800,000 units higher than actual sales through March. The second quarter will be much worse. And with unemployment rivaling that of the depths of the Great Depression, the "enthusiast community" will no longer be "eat(ing) up these cars." In fact, "enthusiast" vehicles will be hit much harder than other models. I hope FCA can see a way to keep the Charger and Challenger alive but it's by no means certain.
I have never ever taken my Scat pack above 75mph. Never did a burn out, and never floored it. I’ve had it about 8 months and only have 543 miles on it. I only drive it on Wednesdays and Sundays with the Wife.
Mr Raiti, your reviews are very informative but simple. The reviewing of this scatpack challenger was the last bit of reassurance I needed to go with the scatpack challenger. I originally owned a 2013 R/T with the 5.7 and loved that car, but she was getting old. Obviously, I wanted the wide body hellcat but it was out of my budget but when originally shopping for a newer R/T, I noticed when I started looking for very specific options. Examples being: basic Seats, no plus package sunroof, alpine 9 speaker, driver convenience group, 8.4 uconnect no nav, automatic (don’t bash me for not choosing the manual lmao), black top package... I was easily into the $42-44000 range...so after doing research, and watching a lot of your challenger 392 videos, I decided it go with the scatpack.. and I don’t regret it.. it came stock with a lot of things plus more that I wanted, and all I had to do was add sunroof, alpine 9, auto and driver convenience and I was in the $45000 range... so literally bigger, srt motor, more HP, Torque, and I’m averaging 21mph! Actually better than my old RT! The kicker is tho, i got a bigger rebate with Dodge dollars due to the bigger motor... if you literally consider everything engineered into the scatpack vs the rt, from the axel ratio, to the brakes... go scatpack!!! Thank you for helping me pick out my new car and for all the challenger reviews you do! The only thing that sucked was they want my exact car down to the color and specific options but it didn’t have a sunroof... 😞 I miss the sunroof, but the additional discount they threw in to make up for it.. I’ll live without it for now!!
Sunroofs have been known to whistle, rattle, and leak. Personally, I would try to stay away from all sunroofs. It doesn't make sense to cut a hole in your roof and not expect problems.
The scatpack does great if you get the package with 275s rather than 245s in terms of getting traction out the dig! However, the 245s are more versatile when the weather is not cooperating. Wider tires are more prone to hydroplaning compared to thinner tires. Just something to keep in mind
You’re ABSOLUTELY right Joe. I have a 2015 SRT 392....and it’s not my daily driver, but I’d LOVE to drive it every day if I could!! MAN I wish I had that color!!
Dodge are blessed. Any other company would have been in big trouble with 12 year old cars still in the market with an even older chassis underneath. But let’s give some credit: they kept updating the Challenger and Charger and making them relevant and the designs still look great. 👍🏻 The sales numbers do all the talking!
Such a difficult decision I made back in may purchasing a 2021 mustang GT instead of a scat pack. I love both cars so much. GT just barely won me over with the handling and with it being a bit cheaper. The mustang is like inbetween the R/T and scat pack price wise.
Bought the 2020 Challenger Scat Pack in Frostbite in April. Fell in love with it on sight. The blue is so unique and different. Definitely think it’s the best color!

You really feel special when you drive around in a Dodge Challenger. No one else goes sideways, smoke up the road and all with a color that few people have! Also, It would be really cool if you could go for a spin in the regular challenger hellcat with the widebody.
trouble is that finding a car optioned like that is virtually impossible. I even checked the dealer in the vid and nothing. I'm in Daytona and low option scat pack cars are rare.
I traded my Scat Pack in on a Hellcat, but you know what ? I think I had more fun in the Scat because I could use all the horse power. You can’t do that in the Hellcat. You have to really think before you floor the hellcat. Fun video 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I was going to jerry ulm to look at the indigo blue 392 charger you reviewed a few weeks ago until the guy was like he's charging full msrp. I was told it's about supply and demand which I understand but he was like i'm not doing the power dollar rebates Lost a potential buyer. Great review
Two different materials being plastic and metal. Paint has different depth. That's why colors will always be a slight shade off no matter what car company. Car people know this.

Yes they have offered a lot of different trim packages on Challenger and is too bad that FCA didn't use the TA for the 1320, because it unfortunately is just a cool sticker package and is a missed opportunity. TA meant something special back in the day, and just wish that they would have thought it out a little better. It isn't anything different than a Scat pk, but the 1320 is something special and would have been the perfect match for the TA
There's no car that comes with more than 485hp and has a starting MSRP under 40k. A Challenger scat pack starts at 39995. It's the best bang for the buck! My Widebody scat pack with 6 speed manual and red interior is ON order! Can't wait for it to be delivered!
Love my 21 392 shaker! Does it have some drawbacks, yea it does, but the positives far out way the drawbacks! Puts a smile on my face every time I get in it, and THATS what it all about!

If you want the most retro car styling but with power and customization your search stops here. GM and Ford just don't offer the crazy amount of combinations as Dodge
The challenger and the mustang is like two superheroes: superman and flash. Challenger is both fast and powerful, on the other hand, the mustang is lightning fast.

Awesome review! I have the exact same car in black and I'm loving it. This is the review i've been waiting for. It's everything you said it was. Dodge don't need to change anything in 2021, but if they were to do so, i'd recommend incorporating the flared wheel wells into the body's sheet metal design instead of those snap on wide body flares that they use now. Otherwise, i'm very happy with today's narrow body design. Thank you Joe for this review.
why doesn't any reviewer ever point out how the painted front bumper never matches the body paint? Is it me? It looks like the front piece is lighter. Seems like Dodge would figure out a way to correct that. Only color that seems to have them matching is black.
I’d have to get a widebody. I used to like the Challenger better than the Charger but I don’t know now. The Charger has really grown on me. I like them both
Love Challengers! Before I got my first car I was considering either a mustang or a challenger. Eventually I went for the mustang but now I want a challenger even more. Honestly love both cars equally if I went for the challenger I’d probably be wanting a mustang really bad rn.

We just took delivery this weekend of a Frostbite Scat Pack with the Dynamics package. Lost count of how many times I watched this video for research purposes.
For me the Challenger wins hands down versus the Mustang or Camaro I just think that bold muscular muscle car look that Dodge has carried over and has not really altered in over 10 years is a testament to the original design of the Challenger back in 1970. and given enough cash in my pocket I would definitely drop it for a sweet RT or Scat Pack with the 6-speed of course.... but now I'm really worried about Dodge decision to go completely electric and the whole world is just going electric crazy. but for me electric cars are no greener than internal combustion they're actually worse I think and well come home from work with a quarter tank of gas in your V8 Mopar because you forgotten to fill it up last night you don't have to worry about power going out you can just get up in the morning and go to work and then fill up but with the electric car if you forget to plug that baby in or the power goes out you're screwed you're getting a taxi to work. and what about the Mopar fans all the old guys with the garages the gear heads what is your opinion about those guys they'll never convert over to these stupid electric cars with a fake muscle car sounds. I hope Dodge falls on its sword with this one and returns with the Dodge Challenger what's your opinion please.
Another great review. Joe what would you have a SCAT PACK Challenger like this or the similar Charger? I am torn between the two cars, it would be used as a daily driver with two small kids. I have a Mustang GT and love it but not so good for the kids in the back.
Same here bud, I have a couple things I need to do and sell that I no longer need. By 2022, I’ll have more than enough to consider getting the wide-body scat pack
welp, my 2021 SCat Pack order went in last week so, now I wait.... perfect timing too... it will be here just in time for winter lol. strange out with folks here in Canada (ontario for me where it's built) have to wait three months vs the US's 6-8 weeks... ah well, knowing my luck it will be even longer because of Covid, which I don't mind.

You can fit people comfortably in the back seat AND have plenty of trunk space. You can't say that about a camaro or mustang.

The challenger and the mustang is like two superheroes: superman and flash. Challenger is both fast and powerful, on the other hand, the mustang is lightning fast.

Awesome review! I have the exact same car in black and I'm loving it. This is the review i've been waiting for. It's everything you said it was. Dodge don't need to change anything in 2021, but if they were to do so, i'd recommend incorporating the flared wheel wells into the body's sheet metal design instead of those snap on wide body flares that they use now. Otherwise, i'm very happy with today's narrow body design. Thank you Joe for this review.

why doesn't any reviewer ever point out how the painted front bumper never matches the body paint? Is it me? It looks like the front piece is lighter. Seems like Dodge would figure out a way to correct that. Only color that seems to have them matching is black.

I’d have to get a widebody. I used to like the Challenger better than the Charger but I don’t know now. The Charger has really grown on me. I like them both
Love Challengers! Before I got my first car I was considering either a mustang or a challenger. Eventually I went for the mustang but now I want a challenger even more. Honestly love both cars equally if I went for the challenger I’d probably be wanting a mustang really bad rn.

For me the Challenger wins hands down versus the Mustang or Camaro I just think that bold muscular muscle car look that Dodge has carried over and has not really altered in over 10 years is a testament to the original design of the Challenger back in 1970. and given enough cash in my pocket I would definitely drop it for a sweet RT or Scat Pack with the 6-speed of course.... but now I'm really worried about Dodge decision to go completely electric and the whole world is just going electric crazy. but for me electric cars are no greener than internal combustion they're actually worse I think and well come home from work with a quarter tank of gas in your V8 Mopar because you forgotten to fill it up last night you don't have to worry about power going out you can just get up in the morning and go to work and then fill up but with the electric car if you forget to plug that baby in or the power goes out you're screwed you're getting a taxi to work. and what about the Mopar fans all the old guys with the garages the gear heads what is your opinion about those guys they'll never convert over to these stupid electric cars with a fake muscle car sounds. I hope Dodge falls on its sword with this one and returns with the Dodge Challenger what's your opinion please.
Another great review. Joe what would you have a SCAT PACK Challenger like this or the similar Charger? I am torn between the two cars, it would be used as a daily driver with two small kids. I have a Mustang GT and love it but not so good for the kids in the back.
I am going Challenger. There is plenty of room in the back seat.

welp, my 2021 SCat Pack order went in last week so, now I wait.... perfect timing too... it will be here just in time for winter lol. strange out with folks here in Canada (ontario for me where it's built) have to wait three months vs the US's 6-8 weeks... ah well, knowing my luck it will be even longer because of Covid, which I don't mind.
