Saw` Elvis playing one in the beginning of the movie Roustabout!'64-'66 era. He went by the name Charlie Rogers,what a memory lol! Like Ricky Nelson! Did you know you could look up an actor's credits and check mention of an instrument used during filming! I did that for an amp,and guitar used by Scotty Moore and a special tape echo built into an amp also used by Les Paul himself!
I got to meet Fish and talk about the new line of Yamahas; would love to see some of them, especially the Pacificas! He had a lot of good stuff to say about you haha.
Great demo as always, Phil. Just a word of caution from a bass player who plays "guitar amps"... That "Fuzz" you're saying is actually the cone of your speaker about to break, I wouldn't recommend playing bass thru guitar voiced speakers(Amps are fine ;), especially the giant neck pickup of gibsons (So called mudbuckers)... These will blow your speakers anytime, guaranteed... Good vibes
I've used my Gibson 1250 since early seventies. It was built in the sixties and I still use it a couple of times a week. Unusable? Impractical? Hardly! I bought it from Maurice Gibb (see this axe on BeeGees vid doing "World") and it's still a hugely versatile instrument. Easy to switch necks and a simple A/B redirects to other amp system when needed. Mind you, it's no guitar for wimps... But I'm a very fit seventy-plus year old.

philx1111 are there any complications or dangers when playing a bass guitar through a guitar amp? Like wearing out tubes or speakers? Would it influence the value or longlivity of an older amp? Maybe frettedamericana has some thoughts on this as well? Thaks for all the great videos!!!!

Phil's playing isn't always the most precise or the most complex, but when he plays, he plays like he means it, which makes it sound so much better!
