It’s hard to make a company do what you want if they don’t mind being sued and in this case they appear to have legitimate reasons for their actions so suing is just going to cost you time and money. They should have cut their losses by saved themselves the embarrassment of being fired. Which I guess they did by “Quitting”.

They were given the day off to attend the wedding and didn't do it, which could be construed as fraud (like asking for a sick day, only to go off on a day trip at the spa). And the boss said they didn't work hard or make sales, which was why they were hired. He made sure that HR could show it was legal.
So yeah lawyer would have a field day with this one. As an HR Manager I can tell you can not fire or transfer someone for any of those reasons. That settlement is going to be huge.
If you work at a big h of the benefits include a well structured HR department and rules. Normally, the number of vacation days, sick days, personal days are all outlined in the employee handbook. Ryan's reason for taking action against the couple is probably based on work related issues pushed over the ledge by the wedding issues.
Ok, little sis was a brat and deserved to be ghosted by Melanie and her husband and to be shut our of the wedding, but how does that have anything to do with their job competancies.

So nicole went from being employee of the month to, she didn't bring up sales and we won't miss her. Also, compared to other antagonist sisters nicole actually cares even if she was a jerk and casually skipped the wedding. I would be angry but i also would be pissed if my husband screwed with her livelihood (cut the salary in half i believe she said) and broke up my family by forcing her to move far away.

This…doesn’t seem legal. It really doesn’t. They have no just cause for termination at all. All the sister did was avoid them. And yeah she was rude to her sister but with no actions from Kyle he really cannot get fired or transferred based off of his wife’s actions with her sister, especially since she didn’t do anything truely untoward.
