Now I have a much greater understanding of what gives 1970's electronic music its distinct sound. Good tutorial!

I love his sound design knowledge. His Mininova patches were the only patches I have installed instead of patching into the synth.

Are you able to let me know where I can find these patches?

Phasers are awesome! My favorite phaser sound is in the Steve Hillage 1975 record “fish rising”, his phaser was called the wing phaser and it had an expression pedal. The sound was so inimitable, I haven’t heard anything like it.

I love Hillage's instrumental opus, Rainbow Dome Musick. The wash of synths along with the bright guitar tone is beautiful.

@@josephwright5921 that album was recorded live at the mind-body-spirit festival in 79, with some overdubs on the second side. his partner miquette also composed and performed much of the first side, its one of my favorite albums ever!

I swear you are spying on my search history, I *JUST* started looking for stereo phaser pedals for synth use a few days ago.

Nice one! Thanks for posting this... I prefer phasing--there just seems to be more 'automation' in the sounds as compared to most time-based effects.

So in the beginning of the video Daniel talks about comb filters which is really more indicative of chorus/flange units. Phasers could be thought of as band-limited combs though. In other words it's frequency dependent delay instead of full-spectrum delay.

I didn't hear the fizzy buzziness that I associate with phaswers like the EH Bad and Small Stone except with the HydroSynth
