My wifewas interviewed last friday for her J2 visa, unfortunately, the consulate didn't gave here a J2 visa because according to them we are married online for 3 months only. Since they saw that we have a strong ties, wherein we have been together for 5 years, they gave her a B2 visa instead. They said that she can change the status to J2 once she is here. Now, I have a couple of questions: Will my visa sponsor be able to assist us in this case? Will she able to get SSN as well while on B2 visa? Does she needs a Return ticket since she is a B2, or her Ds2019 will still work when she is in the immigration office at the airport?
I applied for visas with my kids, and our visas were rejected. I reapplied for myself, and it was accepted. Now, I want to apply for my kids through interview waiver. What should I write in the refusal section on the DS-160 form as the “reason for refusal”? The consular officer gave us a slip mentioning the visa refusal under 214(b).
