I had the great privilege of studying a few semesters of piano in college with the nicest, most genuine, and talented woman I have ever met, Lydia. My final semester, we studied many piano duets. This really opened my eyes (as a composer) to the wide range of sound possible with two pianos. Especially if one is fortunate to have two concert grands at their disposal.
Anyway, I wanted to write a piece which combined elements of the music I had studied that semester (the intro includes a quote from Brahms - Intermezzo in A major, Op. 118 No. 2, a piece my teacher enjoyed). I also take great pleasure in writing music as a gift!
During my final lesson, I brought this sheet music in and we began to sight-read it. This is the recording I took of that.
