No. No perfect storm. John just put his shoulder behind. Something many eastern AW are not willing to do, then they lose, and everyone comes up with fake excuses why they lost or why the opponent was so strong. You just put your shoulder behind and press. If you do it before your opponent you win. Easy and effective rule. No one talks about it. Devon vs Chance (Devon put shoulder behind), John vs leonidas (John put shoulder behind), there is no reason why leonidas lost except because he didnt press (with all his power) the sh*** out of John (no insult to john, living legend, its more about the opponent who dont realize this SIMPLE YET EFFECTIVE move).

The only difference is that John had the willingness to KNOW that he should put his shoulder behind. There was no problem with Leonidas, but just many eastern AW dont understand to JUST put their shoulder behind and PRESS. Ez win for leonidas.

This is just crazy in no other sport could a 60 year old man beat a 25 year old bodybuilder in a match of strength.
Its not strenght primarily. Leonidas has superior strenght in every aspect yet lost. Armwrestling is combination of strenght, setup manipulation, experience and cheating.

@@theangryslav9115 Brotha it doesn’t matter how technical someone is if they don’t have the power to apply it they still won’t win, great example Devon vs levan, Devon’s is light years ahead of Levan in the technical side of arm wrestling but he doesn’t have the power to apply that aspect into the match so it doesn’t help him, if leonidas was that much stronger than John he would’ve ran through him no matter how technical John is, I ain’t trying to argue I’m just trying to educate
@@craternose348 he is not light years ahead. Levan is also technically good and also utra strong. Leonidas can outlift john in everything, his bicep is stronger and so is shoulder. He doesnt have the skill to apply it efficiently like John. You are casual bro, get out. Convincing me John is stronger than the strongest German lifter.
That was Armwrestling masterclass. but also alot of credits to Leonidas here.. he is already THIS good with such little experience.. and this was a HUGE experience boost for him(in terms of learning on a technical level). he really has a great future in this sport ahead

Leo went offensive too early. He didnt give himself a chance to tire out John. This is a mixture of how good John is and a little inexperience on Leonidas. I do believe that Leonidas has a massive future ahead of him though. This fight will be a great learning experience for him.
Thought Leonidas would win? Only his 2nd proper professional match? It's a big leap from SchoolBoy to John Brzenk.

THIS is what i want to see. Incredible match, athletes respecting the refs and each other, no whiny sneaky bullshit, captivating, doesn't outstay it's welcome. The ridiculous clownshow that was Devon vs. Chance earlier was an absolute disgrace. Just wasting an hour of everybodys time.

John is the greatest arm wrestler to ever do it. He dominated the sport for 3 decades and didn’t rely on heavy steroid use like these other top guys do currently.

It is so amazing to witness such an age gap and the strength coming from the young man to go against a strong man but just so experienced. For us young men John is definitely an encouragement to know that we can still be strong as time goes on.

Absolutely spectacular event. All the legends including Johnny Walker were there. The highlight for me, was seeing John get the winning. For him at the age of 60, getting the win over a young beast like Leonidas was incredible. So many people were writing John off. He showed once again why he's the🐐
This match is for those who believe that Brian Shaw can become an arm wrestler at over 40 and beat Levan...becoming a real arm wrestler requires years of practice and competitions.
That's a silly notion. I don't think it's much about age though because he's not old enough to where he can't get to very similar levels of strength if were to work on it for years. That said, he still won't get anywhere near Levan. He never would have got to that level at any point. There are many many guys that he won't get anywhere near even with many years of practice.. He knows this though. This is for views and publicity.

and people say prime John wouldnt do well in this generation of armwrestling...this guy doesnt even lift weights, used to fight at 95-100 kg class and was an open division champ for decades...what if John was lifting weights and using modern machines to train every single muscle and motion? wouldnt that be terrifying?
I called the win for John aka the 🐐 although Leonidis is a good arm wrestler and very strong John 🐐 is still so friggen good. He's just to technical and smart and clearly still strong 💪🏼 happy for John Brezynk love when he gets a big win !!

Great summary! So glad to hear your comments about the clean, no fuss starts. All of the antics of the sort Larratt pulls off trying to gain an advantage? Most sports eliminate these. And the delays are not that much fun to watch. Note that the 100m dash used to be a nightmare with false starts until they toughened the rules. Finally, the sport will never prosper, with what chance it has to go more mainstream, unless it goes ahead and gets ahead of the steroid issue. It will sooner or later so why not now?

They are actually big, just not bloated.

That was definitely the most exciting match and to see John use so many different techniques to pull it out. Unfortunately John has no stamina ever since the vaccine but the goat for a reason. If he didn’t win that last round, he was too tired to continue I think.
