I'm 25, ever since I listened to Robert Johnson's "Crossroads" and Blind Lemon Jefferson "bad luck blues" and Ledbelly's "I'm leaving on the morning train" . I have been learning these tricks since then. I want be like you a senior and still bring the environment to a stop. Thanks for the encouragement ✨

Thank you. I have been overwhelmed by the positive comments this has received recently.
I tried to make a living out of music supported by the lovely lady, my wife Jan, who shot the video on a Nokia 8G phone.
We did it just to help sell the guitar as frankly I was making less than nothing (after travelling expenses, friends and music buddies would accommodate me if overnight stays were needed or I'd just kip in quiet laybys., I've always been able to sleep pretty much anywhere provided it felt safe...but I digress.
I'm summary I'm very priveledged to get such recognition, even if I was only a 'legend in his own lunchtime' to quote someone long forgotten.
      Love, Peace, Music. Simple.

Thank you Doris, I really appreciate that. I will see if it's possible to re-load it after a slo-mo edit, if I can't maybe my son #tomsweetland will be able to advise me, but in any case I intend to try re-recording it 'soon' with the superb camera he gave me for my birthday last year. It's so complicated it's taken me most of that time to discover how it works... what do you mean, read the manual, surely thats a last resort ;-)

I learnt it by a combination of listening many times to R.J's original, studying Roy Rogers excellent slide guitar video, watching and listening to other 'covers' of the song and finally practicing bar by bar until I got what you hear. Thanks for the comments everyone. It's a genuine Dobro that I bought secondhand & re-fretted & fettled, adding the Stratocaster pickup at the neck to body point, but it's completely acoustic in this video, shot on a Nokia N96 8G by my wife Jan.

Hi Daz, thanks for the comment. I don't have the tab for Walking Blues in this arrangement, or any for that matter, I learnt it by ear from a video tutorial by Roy Rogers who used to play with John Lee Hooker & produce him. I think that video and tab are still available in UK, my version is similar but not identical.

    I didn't know that, thanks :-)
Due to my previous studies I did know that the name 'Dobro' came about due to mixing the name of Dopyera Brothers who founded the company back in the 1920's when a louder guitar was needed to compete with other instruments.
My Grandmother played piano for silent films which is part of the story. Wikipedia will fill in the gaps in what may seem a digression :-)

I meant keep feeling the blues and playing them but don’t get sucked into the dark side of the blues...a lot of old blues musicians ended up living out the sad stories of their songs. I guess we all have to touch those emotions in some ways to connect to this music but keep on doing what you’re doing! Keep on the sunny side of life ...

You are most welcome Mark. I've 'tutorialed' the tuning for this on a 'new' video that I'm about to upload in the next few days. I just need a bit more feedback on it before I get to post it. The tuning top E to bottom E is as follows: 1 - E. 2 - B. 3 - G#. 4 - E. 5 - B., and finally 6 - E. This is the tuning I use for 11 & 12 thou top string sets. I often slacken all by 2 semi-tones for performance and vocal range matching. Your '29 Dobro will sound great with fat strings! Single cone? Love 'em

Yes. If remember rightly it was dropped 2 semi-tones, maybe 3 with .015 top E and the rest in proportion, and tuned to the chord E which gives the lovely open shape chords for the IV and V, which used in combination with the slide and fingerpicking makes it sound really fat but distinct.
