Nothing like being 40 miles from pickup in the woods solo. Just me and my 300 and 9mm

The thrill of both still keeps me young,I'm 58 and still love time in the saddle no matter what! No matter what skill level or challenge, time on the bike will cure anything!!! I LOVE IT ALL! It keeps the voices away lol!

As a kid me and my buddies would ride the hundreds of miles of local forestry roads. Tried moto x but just didn't get into it, then Enduro racing, nope not for me. Then moved to an area that had desert racing, that was my holy grail, loved it. Now years later I will stick with trail riding in the mountains. Slow paced and enjoying the scenery.🙂

Trail all the way. Ride from home and forget about it.

I started trail riding 80’s in my early teens. Moved to motocross in my 20’s & raced a very short season. Now I’m back on a dual sport in my mid 40’s & loving it!

Riding is riding. Motocross or trails, do what you enjoy. The reality is that we only have so much time in our lives to do it.

Of course I watched it all. I made my kids watch it with me too.

I been trail riding for 42 years and love every minute. Started on a 1982 yamaha mx100 up to the Suzuki quad 500.

I like trail riding because you have more freedom and can get away from the crowds. Plus, who doesn't like conquering a mountain?

Both are good stuff. Thanks for posting this video. It gave me something to listen to and watch while I made pan cakes for the kiddos.

The one that you like the most.
Trails are a little more interesting for me because depending on where and the weather its always different.

Mostly trail ride these days as that is what is readily available to me but, I don't get the same "Moto fix", from it that I do when I'm turning laps, hitting jumps and carrying as much speed as I'm capable of. The views can be amazing when trail riding but I feel like I'm missing out on the funnest part of dirt bikes unless I get on a flowy trail and get moving. I learned how to ride in the desert so speed is where I get my fix.

Depends on the trails. If you hit some sick single track or go fast in the woods, it can a lot of time require way more thinking than the track. I ride both but when I start pushing in the trails, it can be a lot more fun.

I like both, for same reasons as you, I do more mx lately. I followed your advice and got a KTM 350 XCF (FE) that is great on both tracks and trails.

Riding trails, hill climbs, sneaking onto people property, trail riding is the best, it's all my dad and i ever did to bond together.
I never had the chance to go on a motocross track, well once, i was 15 and it was my first time on a 250, it was a KX 250, so it didn't go well.

MX mostly private property, lots of machines to cut and groom the track, wide swaths of cut tracks, membership fees and trying to keep up with the Jones's, two strokes and go fast. Trail riding mix public and private, very little machinery or grooming, nature, variety, can add in camping, take your time if you want, it's being out there, four strokes and cruise along like a goat.

I started riding at the age of seven. The motocross track in my area raced on Sunday and since my Mother thought it was better for my butt to be sitting in church on Sunday racing motocross was never going to be in the cards for me. Fortunately for me we had plenty of farms, woods and strip mines for me to grow up riding in. So I'll stick with what I know and stay on the trails. Would've been cool to ride in a few motocross races though.

Trail riding is fun but I prefer motocross. 90% of my riding is “free riding” finding something to jump off of and go fast while doing it.

I would say motocross for me. But at the end of the day there are times 40 miles deep into a wet trail day that are just incredible. Hopefully I can do both for a long time and as old and you one day.

I like trail riding better. I grew up racing Moto, but I get bored easily, and going around the same terrain lap after lap gets boring to me. I guess I need constant variety.

Great video...the Clarks make both look so awesome. Love trail riding for the challenge, nature, the solitude (or the cameraderie depending on the ride), the scenery. Haven't done MX...but it looks a blast. Riding Glen Helen is on my bucket list to do before I die (or maybe the day I die!!). Feel like if you ride MX enough you're eventually going to end up in a cast, but with trail riding there's a good chance (knock wood!) of escaping major injury depending on how/where you ride.

I get bored sometimes because I am forced to ride alone.
But then theres nothing like having no one and nothing over your shoulder and just be out in nature.
