I think the rod under the seat went through a loop that was connected to a seat spring. This made it more rigid instead of flopping around. We had a '69 C-10 and I remember seeing it when we put on new seat covers.
I think you're right. I'm going to let it ride for now & if it stops working I'll take out some of that slack like how the factory did. Thanks for watching & for taking the time to comment.
This is awesome. I just got a new seat for my squarebody. I traded the original bench for a set of buckets and a center console but then realized they were high backs and they weren’t right for a 77. Also hated em. I was able to get traded for another really nice bench but it’s out of an eighties. I’m not worried about it for now though because I’m just happy to have a bench again 😂
Watching you sitting on the seat when it was on your garage floor, reminded me that back in the late 70's, I took the bench seat out of my '69 C10 to put in buckets. The bench seat then became the "couch" in my little cabin. Merry Christmas!
Bless you on getting this to work so well. I had a 65 C10 and did this same work getting the seat to move and finally pulled the OEM seat out and put in Jeep seats! When I got the 57 GMC it already had Mercedes seats (with an arm rest no less) so I didn't need to go into this again. I recall the 65 OEM seat, like you said, made the passenger about 3 inches taller. I'd love to see you get rid of that in cab fuel tank. Merry Christmas and once again nice work on this chocky OEM system. I just remembered that when I pulled the OEM seat out of the 65 I found a Southern Bell computer punch card for an IBM 370 from 1973 and still have it in my desk. Fun to pull seats out most times to see cool stuff but sometimes it can be gross... maybe something to do with a "Little Debbie" and the drive in.
Freeman incide the dash lighter barrel you will see a clip c shaped slightly bend it inward so that the lighter itself locks into place...as it heats up it expands freeing itself from the base then Popping up
Running it under cold water makes it worse later. The doc told me it pulls the moisture out of the injured area. Use a wax based moisturizer. I prefer Made By Hemp salve. Burt’s Bees lip moisturizer works really well too. Silvadine is the best but it’s $$$$$ and medical only 🍻
I see what you’re saying. Thanks for taking the time to say that. I guess for now I’ll leave it alone & if it starts acting goofy again I’ll take up the slack.
Sorry about the multiple duplicate comments , but when I hit comment it just went blank , so I did it a couple times . I guess you know how I really feel .

That's good. As long as you can enjoy your truck. Nothing worse than a squarebody just sitting. Thanks for watching & commenting.

That's neat. Merry Christmas!
Good job
Thanks
After five years, no decayed French fries and such. Commendable. Good job on that seat.
Thank you. Unfortunately I didn’t find any money either. Thanks for watching & commenting.
Merry Christmas Freeman! Love your dry sense of humor! Lol!
Thank you. Merry Christmas.
Screw the passenger , let 'em ride in back .
Those seats are a bear too get them too slide both sides by yourself.
They would usually get angled different on each side but you got it, GOOD JOB.
They’re not light that’s for sure. Thanks for watching & for the nice comment.

Thanks for the funny & thoughtful comment. The punch card is neat. You never know what’s going to be under there.
Merry Christmas Julian.

Ah thank you. I appreciate that.

That's new information to me. Thanks.
Freeman that seat rod was hog ringed pulling it close to the seat wires but not so tight it can't move to take up the slack
I see what you’re saying. Thanks for taking the time to say that. I guess for now I’ll leave it alone & if it starts acting goofy again I’ll take up the slack.
@@freemansgarage you could also use a zip tie looped around a seat spring taking up the slack..just don't pull too tight the rod won't move
I would've taken the seat back off while it was in the truck .
You know. Why didn’t I think of that?

It happens to the best.
Cigarette lighter! Do you smoke cigars?
No but I like everything to work.
Richard have you arrived in NDak yet?
I have. I’ve already had my home of economy coffee.

Gotta chip in for gas if you want to ride in the cab
