  • It's never the CPU. Except when it is. And you don't have spares for the platform.
    WE CAN REBUILD IT. HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER.

    When you said it had been overclocked I kind of suspected a CPU issue once you'd eliminated the GPU and the RAM to be honest. But it was great to see you work through this logically and trouble shoot it step by step. Exactly how it should be done, brilliant!

    Just watched an almost 3 year old video about troubleshooting a pc. I have done so many myself and still find it interesting... 😊
    I myself had a defective cpu once. But that was because I forgot to put the cpu fan on... It cracked! 😁
    But although old still a great video to watch. Not a moment regret of subscribing...

    It's funny how about 4/5 years ago I built my son a computer with the same CPU, same motherboard, same graphics card in a Razer edition NZXT H440 with a corsair H110 AIO. Must have been the best bang for your buck available back then. Set it to a safe 4.7 Ghz with no other adjustments and it's still kicking along nicely today.

    "it's like changing a tire on a car because the engine won't start" 😂😂😂
    also may have made this comment somewhere else but early this year I had similar issues, everything fine playing games , 3 months in start getting blue screen, auto everything in BIOS, okay for a week, then if doing a file transfer it would freeze until you moved the mouse then it'd resume.
    finally gave it to a friend who has same MOBO (x570 taichi) , he had same issues, luckily microcenter warrantied it for me (:
    replacement one I can get higher ccx clocks on and it's already lasted twice as long as original 🤗

    You earned your coin on that one!!! I had similar issues a while back, turned out to be a RAM issue, but memtest said all ok. Would BSD intermitent, was a single DIMM at fault. Cosair RMI'ed it no quesiotns asked. Can't fault them. Excellent video, very inciteful.

  • @MCBatty80

    Have you had any of the AIO's reduce their performance due to the pipes being at the top of the radiator instead of the bottom? Mine started running the pump dry, I flipped the radiator and it's working again. Too bad it burned out my i7-990x before i worked out it was having issues.

    My GB gave endless BSODs like that of stuff I never heard of...It was the POS Gigabyte board , NOT the RAM or CPUI.
    I never could get into Windows but it would run Memtest from a USB , that right there told me the CPU was working.
    Had lots of errors in Memtest , even with 2 known good CPUs. Never GB again.

    Often, the very first boot of a brand new system board takes longer, due to it having to 'freshly' search for all the peripherals, etc. Afterwards it has saved the config and will only do a 'refresh' type of search. I see it happen all of the time but sometimes they don't take so long which leads me to believe that when they don't take a long time that they have been booted somewhere between the mfgr and the final destination....

    I was so surprised that cpu was the culprit instead of motherboard, while watching the vid i was sure that its the mobo, but it appeared its cpu, i wonder if it had anything to do with previous overclock, highly unlikely but still raises a question...

    Good video but what happened next ?
    Did windows have a hissy fit about activation after the new CPU was fitted ?
    Did the customer have to buy another Windows licence ?
    If not, it would be interesting to see how you kept Windows activated.

    • @h1tzzYT

    Why does he put the radiator and fans on the top of the case where there is a solid metal cover right above them? I'm sure he knows what he's doing just I don't understand it. Would it not be better on the front or back where there is mesh?

    • @Adamant_IT
      @Adamant_IT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The top of the case vents out the side. The strip of mesh above the open side panel is the top exhaust. It's narrow, but no issue for static pressure exhaust.

    These videos inspired my to try to troubleshoot why I can't use more than 2 sticks of ram I'm my current PC. I can post with 2 8GB sticks, bit not more than that. Sometimes I can mess with the bios toilet me use 2x8 and a 4gb stick, but that blue screens when playing games. I added a beeper to my computer so I can diagnose things better. I was hoping that the GPU was being too much of a power hog on the crappy dollar store motherboard, but it doesn't seem to be the issue. I'll keep trying, but this 2012 parts AMD FX build is trash anyway. It would be nice to have an extra working 16 gb of ram for a server PC though. Your videos have helped a lot in my troubleshooting this. Thanks for that.

      @@Maartwo I had to up the voltage a lot just to get a post, but even then, windows (or any other os) wouldn't get past the startup screen before a memory related BSOD. It was just cheap ram from eBay, so I guess it's my fault. Good thing my friend was able to take it for his super crap PC.

    • @Maartwo
      @Maartwo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    just had this issue myself, it's caused by a corrupt data sector in any drives... i have an HP 820 G2 that seems to enjoy eating the 2.5 SATA HDD's... it happened after an update from windows... which corrupts a sector in the HDD somehow, i gave up on trying to locate the driver/program that keeps corrupting my 2.5 HDD's... fixed that issue by going with an external SSD.. OS is on an internal M2 SSD... microsoft needs to quit with the bloatware updates that are worthless at points... when i first got this laptop, the internal 32GB M2 SSD was only 50% used.... now? it's maxed out from the updates as it is.
