    'Bobby the Builder' is back and this time he means business, with a fully electric Kovaco Elise 900 Skid Steer Loader!
    This is the first 100% electric skid steer loader to come into production and Robert has managed to get it into his garden to help with removing some 20 year old chicken wire and rubble. As it is narrow, low and carbon neutral, this electric skid steer is fit both inside and outside of buildings and can even be operated remotely. It's safe to say Robert is quite taken with this big bit of electric machinery, but what will Mrs L say when she sees the state of the garden??

    I grew up farming and by the time I was in my mid twenties I had already damaged my ears from spending hours and hours operating loud smelly diesel skid steers. I use to dream about electric tractors when working and this is the one I spent the most time in using it to clean barns, feed cows, and do almost everything else on the farm. This is everything I ever wanted and I’m so happy to see it’s finally real!

    • @MrTitPulla
      @MrTitPulla 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I had the same thing happened to me on farms. Years and years of load machinery has left me industrially deaf. It's great to finally see these machines. I think it would be so easy to have a tellyhandler and the feed out tractor electric

      @@kreizmann2943 yep and when someone comes up with stuff that protects the hole body i'll be the first to get it.
      sadly hearing protection only works properly on sound coming down the ear canal. it dose not protect from sound absorbed though the scull that directly vibrates the anvil and other small bones of the interior ear.

    Having been born and raised on a ranch in the San Joaquin Valley in California USA, I had the opportunity to drive my father's truck into a bucket on the front of a dredger that cut the San Louis Canal that takes water to Los Angeles, California in the southern part of the State of California. However, that thing was a giant and could hold perhaps 10-15 pickup trucks and pumped diesel smoke by the ton into the air. I drive a Tesla Model 3 and I have Solar on the roof of my house and just loved watching you attempt to clean out your back yard with the FIRST BATTERY ELECTRIC Remote Controlled Electric Skid Steer Machine which was REALLY EXCITING TO SEE. BRAVO ! True Academy Award Material.

    Interesting design, from what I can tell 2 motors for the drive and 1 for the hydraulic pump, because the weight is so low, they claim pretty impressive stability on off-camber, and ascent\descent. 3000 charge cycles for lead acid is pretty good, probably much easier to replace individual cells as well over lithium, quite a machine!

    Agricultural equipment is a great place to have electrical equipment. Farm and land owners are the sort of people who would have the space and the knowhow to have solar/window power etc. Given that they are only travelling around on their own farm, range is less likely to be a giant issue as well.

    A skidsteer lends itself to electrification really well as it's entirely run on hydraulics. One with a diesel engine just powers a hydraulic pump, so the electric motor does that instead. These are widely used inside big buildings & in construction, so one with no diesel smoke would be brilliant.

    I can see all kinds of uses for this thing, from bomb disposal to vets using them to lift livestock or horses into MRI machines, firefighting, hazardous substance cleanup yadayada etc etc... And it could mean that disabled people could be given opportunities to work in industries they previously couldn't. Brilliant innovation!

    Only + is it's can be considered for places where noisepollution is not allowed. Most constuctionplans have nois pollution written into it. The remote contol wai is a right way to go. It'll
    prevent lots of spinal injuries.
