Holy geeez man that new build plan sounds spectacular .Really looking forward to tagging along in the process to learn how it all goes together. Very cool !
Can't wait! This is going to be awesome! Please please show us everything. From the takedown to the rebuild. I wanna see it all. Torque specs, worn components, stuff you find interesting. Any and all of it
@@mfwesley we will try to capture a lot of it. Dewey will be building it in his home state. It’s a completely new engine. My current engine will be pulled and set aside for storage.
Let's gooo dude! Been watching Dewey for a minute. Can't wait to see the collab as well as all the work done to the DRZ. Ordered up my stage 2 intake and E exhaust cams and FCR39MX kit yesterday. Can't wait till they come in! Then when I get the BB and stroker crank after the holidays I'll be able to use this as a guide to help walk me through. Haha. Any reason you're putting a new clutch in? Your spring free lengths out of spec, you upgrading (upgrading may not be the right word as OEM DRZ clutches are beasts. Lol.) to an EBC/Hinson or something, or just want a fresh clutch since it'll basically be a new engine?
@@korabeats_ the BB kit comes with a clutch included. The stock one was still holding strong. Also I didn’t mention, this will be an entirely different engine. My engine will be pulled from my bike and stored. So my factory clutch and all will stay with my OEM engine.
Please tell me one of the surprises isn’t lowering it!😮 I did the math on all those upgrades ( dreamy AF ) the cost here in Canada would be $6,000,000,000,0000 usd. But we have “ free “ healthcare.
I saw the new DRz4 & they made it EU-5 compliant meaning I'll be buying a used DRz400 & trying to do these MOD's you're sharing here. Do a good job so I'll have a complete plan to follow. Your bike is a good LQQKing Bike, like I always said but it looks better now than before you put it down. Whatever man, I can't wait for the series. Onward Sire.... peace
Yeah Link, I'll be doing just that & as the new DRz4 rolls out I'm thinking some of the "400's" will drop in price? I'm not able to substantiate my position but you already can pick up older DRz's w/ mods for decent prices. If this goes the way I think, I'll look for one w/ an engine ache or high mileage knowing I'll be doing a "Big Bore" and that's where you drop in the "Wider Gearing Set" that makes her better on the highway. Have you heard of it & I don't know what that CO$Ts but when you crack the case NOW would be the time to put those gears in her, if you need more speed? I say you might want that gearing because you're adding more power BUT whatever you decide, I'll be watching..... peace man
Yo that's sickkkk brother but coming from someone who built a gsxr 1073 when they run there fun af but when the issues hit ya it's sad Link my girl had her gutz apart 3 different times in here life and i also jockied a turbo same motor gsxr 1073 but forged vs knife edged crank like in my motor 1073 . You got great scooters I'm just getting that out there. yes I love power and yes if money was no option I'd build a nother big motor bike but get a 701( if you want something with different power)and keep the drz the tastefully modded girl she is.
@@mrsmel269 this will be an entirely different engine! Not the OEM engine. So she will have the stock motor good as new stored away on a shelf. And the new engine will have all the mods. So if there ever was an issue, just swap the engines and keep rolling. 💪🏼. And appreciate the insight bro. Turbo 1073 😳😳😳!
Nice thats the way to do it brother yes she was a 2001 when im on my computer ill send you some picts mine (motor) was 200 to the tire and the turbo was 360 at 30 psi it's was like your banshee on steroids ;-) . Enjoy the rest of the day and can't wait to see her in action come on spring ;-)
Hotcams stage 2 are no more that great with auto decompressor issues. DRZ 400E oem cams and CDI are great and should be considered. The act wide ratio are not really good in reliability. Look at people using OEM 3rd gear set as a 5th wide ratio. only need minor shaving down.
@@mathieusynnott8915 I’ll check it out. My goal is not the most power. It’s reliable power. Plenty of ACT bikes out there that are rippers. Thanks for watching!
