This is a really good video for installing an exhaust. I used it for my Yoshimura RS2 install, since the process is very similar. The one thing I would add to this in my case is the there is not enough space on the head holt to use an allen socket. To get it aligned, you will have to use a regular allen key that is long enough. Moving the clamp on the other side is a must and super easy.

Had an xt250 with the same exhaust and the bike sounded amazing just didn’t go anywhere when you went wide open. I just bought a drz so I’m excited for the sound again but this time to actually have speed to match the sound😂

Just put the same pipe on, have gold ash levers, have the led, have the gold handlebar bracket, have the same brake cables but gold. I have commented on a couple videos and I really appreciate your guidance. I am wanting to know if I can run the exhaust and 3by3 without the jd jet kit until it arrives. It won’t be here till Monday and I drive it to work so the ole lady can have the car for the kids. Delkavic says you do not need to rejet with any of there exhausts on there website. Will it hurt the bike at all? I’d say 20 miles a day until Monday.
Nope. Won’t hurt it. It’ll be a little lean. But no harm will be done. People slap on these exhaust and never rejet for thousands of miles. You’ll be good. The internal diameter of this system is barely bigger than stock. The Barkers system however, is wayy bigger. And thanks for the kind words man. Here to help!

I called JD Jetting bc I’m about to install the jet kit and this exact exhaust and they recommended that I use the 160 main jet and just remove the snorkel instead of the 170 and cutting the 3x3 mod. Just wondering what you did with this exhaust and how it turned out? I’d rather not have to do this twice. Thanks!
@@phistry810 I got rid of this exhaust. It’s basically the same size as stock. I’d follow JDs advice. Unless you’re going to get a barkers or an MRD exhaust. If so, I’d 3x3 and use a 170.

Hey man! How was the bike running with the exaust on before you put on the jet kit? Just brought the same exaust for my stock DRZ and I dont know if im ready to do the jetting job now since im not too good at mecanic. Could running the full exaust without rejetting be bad for the engine or have other downsides on the long term?

Tried putting mine on today but it seems like the mounts for the stock heat shield are too close together and I can’t see any obvious way to get more play or space between? Did you or anyone else have these issues? What am I doing wrong lol

Have seen others recommend wiping the pipes down with mineral spirits or similar degreaser to avoid oil from hand/finger prints from burning into the new SS, any issues ?

If you add a pipe I would recommend a jet kit. But you already have one. And your OEM blinkers might be in danger ⚠️! Lol. TST industries has a good fender eliminator kit. I have a video of that, and all if there modification installs on the channel. Thanks for watching!
I’ve owned some pretty loud bikes but I bought that kit and I can genuinely say it’s loud loud, will drown most other bikes with some obvious exceptions 😅(ie trapped out 450s, screaming 2 strokes that’s about it)
That exhaust looks so much better but I want a quiet bike so I have to keep stock unfortunately. Just a heads up, those passenger pegs weight a good 2 lbs just dead weight for most people. Your videography have definitely improved since this one btw.
hey picking up new 2022 drz400sm and want to replace the exhaust what do you suggest either jetting the stock carb or getting the new fcr39 clone carb or is it ok if i replace the exhaust and not do the jetting ??
@@z000t4d I tried. But it was hard as hell to film man. We will see how it turns out. I didn’t film the carb removal / install. Strictly the jetting procedure.
I do want to mention that this exhaust has a high likelihood of rubbing on the case and cracking. Trust me I’m going through this as we speak. I would be careful if I bought this exhaust as I have even made sure that it was not touching the case but somehow it still made its way to the case and cracked it.

Since I did it it’s been raining. I’ve only ridden it about 15 miles or so. With the baffle out, it’s pretty damn loud. Not as bad with the baffle in. I’d say the quality was above what I expected. And I’m pretty picky. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!

Hey Link, so how did you use their bolts, and washers? They sent no instructions and it’s starting to become a headache.

I pretty much did it all at the same time. But the bike was pretty lean after the exhaust and no jetting. Lots of popping on deceleration.

A little. Removed PAIR valve. Helped tremendously.
