Irl groups will leave you limited to who you can find, and online groups, while far more numerous, a majority of them still suffer from something going wrong. The channel probably should look into a name change, however. Not to mention, there are other channels out there that already cover mechanics of the game or reviews of expansion packs and etc. This is a story channel. The name should probably be changed to reflect that.
@@lulospawn You could view it that way if you look at the social implications of making such a statement within a group of card game players. I was looking at it from a logical and realistic point of view. The game card is *literally* composed of fibrous dead plant material that has been glued together to create a hand sized medium to hold various colors of ink that compose an image and words that represent an idea.
@@benkayvfalsifier3817 I think that's a rather timid logic. The printed piece of cardboard that make a MtG card is not the same as a printed piece of cardboard that's not an MtG card. Imagine how far you'd get if you prepare to do an autopsy on a human corpse and your first comment is: "Yup. That's a mammal". If someone snatched money from your hand you wouldn't go to the police to report that some has taken pieces of paper with ink on them. There's a reason language is contextual. When Punk referred to a printed piece of cardboard she clearly implied that it could be any piece of uncharacteristic cardboard that it's not an MtG card.
Hey, everyone complaining about “ThERe’S NoT ENougH haPPy StoRIes!” If you all stopped complaining for five seconds, went out, and found just ONE “happy” story each, you could submit it to AllThingsD&D and they would be more than happy to narrate it! Contribute or shut up, you bunch of do nothing whiners.
As someone who has never played Magic or any other collectible card game for that matter, I just have to ask: how exactly can you tell a fake card from a real one? Aren't even the real ones nothing but pieces of cardboard with stuff printed on them?
There are a number of ways. Often fakes have colours that look wrong, or a different printing style, or too glossy (or matte) a finish. Most magic cards from the same set have a similar feel when bent, so a fake may seem too flimsy or too stiff. Other methods involve shining a powerful flashlight through the card. A real card will let a certain amount of light shine through. It tends to be stuff that people who have handled a lot of magic cards will know and notice, but new players probably won't catch. So people like the guy in the story will often target new players, especially if their fakes aren't very good.
I guess not too differently from telling legit money apart from fake. These companies make a sh*t load of money with the cards so I'm sure they employ some crafty stuff to stay ahead from counterfeiters.

After the last story this is a price of cake
do you mean piece?
Note 1: If your DM violates your character in the game, don't hold back on the table. Just "dew it"!
All hail Queen Punk!! Avatar of Table Top Justice!!!
Yo, punk is a fucking legend!
no kidding
Ngl, Punk sounds like my kind of dude. lol
I'd have her in my D&D games any day. She seems fun. lol
She's a hero
7:42 Well, even if it was a fake it's *still* a character printed on cardboard because that's what all cards are unless they are made of plastic.
Are you a lawyer by chance?
@@lulospawn no, why?
@@benkayvfalsifier3817 because it take chutzpah to make a statement like that... or a law degree...
That sounds like something out of a Netflix special…wow
Honestly if you spent time making fakes you could've gotten an application done in less time than that
ikr? Some people will work harder that they would legally, just to avoid doing honest work, though
Dude, HELL yeah. Punk's a bad bitch.
Being an awful DM is bad enough, but selling fake Magic cards is an unforgiveable sin!
I really want to see more interesting stories rather than railing on DMs
Where's all the epic stuff where people have fun instead be terrible to each irl.?
Hey, everyone complaining about “ThERe’S NoT ENougH haPPy StoRIes!” If you all stopped complaining for five seconds, went out, and found just ONE “happy” story each, you could submit it to AllThingsD&D and they would be more than happy to narrate it! Contribute or shut up, you bunch of do nothing whiners.
Oh, yeah, because it's our responsibility to scour the internet for happy stories. If we did that, we wouldn't be subscribed to this channel.
@@addison_v_ertisement1678 I love how you thought that this was some clever come back, but really you’re just telling on yourself.
@@H240909 how the hell am I telling on myself?
@@addison_v_ertisement1678 You aren't telling on yourself. This guy is just a prick.
Lucas is the most toxic dm I have ever seen
Perfect.
@@lulospawn most likely yeah
Awesome!
All hail Punk!
i loved this story!
That was satisfying karma
Always do background checks on DMs before joining a session.
That was some crap moves on his part.
But honestly it sounds like he was really struggling.
And no one deserves a heart attack...
Anyone want to calculate odds that Lucas is Jeremy Hambley?
Any updates on the how to train your dragon series?
do you mean the story about the rancher that raised the black dragon Onyxia as his daughter?
@@willparry530 yes
@@wesss9353 that story reached its conclusion already in the third video, I doubt there will be any more on that score.
@@willparry530 was just wondering if there was any more after the 3rd part
@@wesss9353 Nope, third part is the last part, considering that would be the last time he saw her (which I think he specifically mentioned in that video)
Ooooh that happens here in Brasil! Kkkkkkk
I get that these are part of DnD too, but would it be possible to sprinkle in some more funny stories? I don't mind the horror stories as much as a lot of the complainers, but when it's almost all of the current content, it can get old. Can we spruce up with something different like you did with the two-story video about players getting involved in legal shenanigans a couple videos ago?
Agreed. I like the comeuppance stories, but I just want some fun ones too!
@@juliagoodwin9510 Have an upvote on me. This is the kind of opinion I think we need to promote here!
Wow!
A Magic player AND a Football fan? How red do you need your flags to be???
I don't follow how those are red flags. A single person CAN have multiple interests that differ vastly.
@@willparry530 It was a joke. It's because both Magic players and Football fans are usually assholes.
@@averagejoe455 Alright, wasn't sure given the toxicity of certain comment chains the last couple of videos.
@@willparry530 Oof. Didn't know that was a thing. D:
