Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a 2009 American science fiction action film directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, based on the Transformers toy line created by Hasbro. It is the sequel to 2007's Transformers, as well as the second installment in the live-action Transformers film series. Taking place two years after its predecessor, the plot revolves around Sam Witwicky, who is caught in the war between two factions of alien robots, the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime and the Decepticons, led by Megatron. Sam is having strange visions of Cybertronian symbols, and being hunted by the Decepticons under the orders of an ancient Decepticon named The Fallen, who seeks to get revenge on Earth by finding and activating a machine that would provide the Decepticons with an energon source, destroying the Sun and all life on Earth in the process. Returning Transformers include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, Megatron, Starscream, and Scorponok.

Exactly lol, it's not like he was "repaired". He was the equivalent of having just finished the forest battle with the one injury fixed seeming to only be the killing blow which was seemingly repaired by the Matrix.
@@lukesfascinatingfacts2594The damage wasn’t repaired until he absorbed Jetfire. The matrix only kickstarted his spark and took its place temporarily, hence why he can remove it in later movies without flopping over dead.

"I rise, you fall" This scene was so epic and cold. You could see the fear in megatrons face. The scene really shows how far optimus is willing to go

Maybe, but this is more realistic. This Optimus is a hardened war veteran who led the Autobots through millennia of war with the decepticons and had to watch his home world die because of that war. Here he is, face to face with the very first Decepticon, the cause of literally all of his problems and you expect him to be an understanding and kind individual? Hell no. He’s gonna kill the son of a gun where he stands and take half of the body of his arch nemesis while he’s at it

When I was a kid, I just saw this as cool robots fighting each other and nothing much more. But rewatching this as an adult 14 years later, I'm realizing just how dark and brutal Optimus was against Megatron and the Fallen
what could he do? if he didn't beat them like that earth would be destroyed
deserved. They were trying to end an entire Solar system
Megatron tortured an innocent human earlier in the movie, and he, The Fallen, and their army had no qualms about slaughtering anyone who dared to oppose their mission to destroy the Earth. If Optimus hadn't taken lethal action, the most destructive and downright evil alien race would have been left to do with Earth as they pleased.
As a kid: You enjoy the fight nonetheless
As an adult: You noticed the details of the fight
I liked to think the reason prime ripped off his face was because the Decepticon insignia is literally the fallen's face mold, and the fallen also being the first decepticon who started all of this, so prime saw him as the source of the destruction of cybertron and millions of lives and sparks, ripping his face off was basically an insult to the whole Decepticon faction, ruining their symbol by humiliating their leader by ripping off the decepticon symbol from the fallens face.
He didn't need to do it to kill him but did it anyway.

This sequence along with the opening in Shanghai and the forest battle are the three greatest moments in the whole film. The CGI, the music score by the absolutely talented Steve Jablonsky, and of course the voiceover performances of Peter Cullen, Hugo Weaving, and Tony Todd (The Fallen)

What I hate about CGI, sizes of individual or objects are so Inconsistent. Fallen was easily 2 almost 3 times size of Optimus when he stole the Matrix of leadership. Optimus not just got wide his height also increase by alot.

People rightly accuse Bay for making these superficial films full of pointless explosions and product placements, but the CGI team truly deserves an acknowledgement. Although you rarely know what’s going on, it’s still meticulous and hard work (I think). The end result is quite impressive...
That would be the Goats at ILM founded by George Lucas and the original VFX team behind the first Star Wars they are responsible for some of the most impressive CGI and VFX in the industry
Bay’s directing filmography was actually off to a decent start. Bad Boys 1, The Rock, even Armageddon had its moments although I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s great. I think Pearl Harbor is when it really started to go downhill for him in terms of quality and credibility. The Island was pretty decent and of course TF1 was amazing. In between the TF series though I’d honestly say Pain & Gain and 6 Underground are about the only ones he’s made that actually kept him afloat

@@evan_gori actually, by the "you are so weak" phrase Megatron was referring not to Prime's physical shape but to inability of Optimus to sacrifice humanking in order to save Cybertronians and thus dooming their race and letting himself be killed, for he turned around searching for Sam exposing his back (I also think that's a form of a metaphor)

It was the close quarters and terrain. The Fallen sort of panicked, and underestimated Optimus. Optimus basically snuck him and The Fallen never really recovered. The momentum of the fight was always with Optimus even with Megatron there. No matter how strong you are, you can lose a fight if you aren't on top of your game. He was lacking here. Now full power Fallen wouldn't have been beaten this way, but he didn't take this seriously, and he is fighting a juiced up Prime THAT CAN KILL HIM. you'd think he'd be extra serious seeing as how Prime is the only one that can do this but he doesn't, he just gloats and makes quips and fights more to beat Prime up, whereas Prime was trying to, and ultimately did, kill him
Optimus litteraly said..."Give me Your Face" and held mans up just to force his heart out his chest and let's just take a second to realize he didn't just rip it out, he held it in the fallens face just to prove a point XD

Megatron is always best! i love his voice in the games and movies i hope new TF movies would make him op with Frank"s voice! i hope they make a movie they become brothers again and team up to destroy Unicron it would be really awseome and less annoying humans scenes would be better
