Those Kicks look they are good on gas for an economical vehicle. I like this little car it seems lately Nissan is getting more attention that's a good thing giving credit for the brand so proud on how they are going in the right direction can't wait see the '22 Pathfinders at the dealership love the (Rogue and Sentra) actually whole Nissan lineup.

22 MPG with mostly highway driving at 70-75 when I can get it up to that speed, way under-powered by today's standards. Be glad when I can return it to Enterprise and get my Equinox back (at least it gets 26-28 with AWD).

This would have been a sweet car if they didn't put that crap 129HP motor in it, which is shown perfectly in this video when you are trying to get to 70mph. Why not just put the higher motor that the Sentra has in it? Also man, get a wind filter :)

I have an SV Kicks, and I get 42-44 MPG on the expressway, but I only have the heat on not the air. Air conditioning eats gas like crazy in any car. I have not yet tried the air in my Kicks as I have only driven it in winter. Today I finally got to drive with the heat off and the vents open and the fan on. I get 29-32 in stop and go driving around town. I am extremely happy with the mileage I get per gallon, and I enjoy driving my Kicks. It is not just a college car, or, rather, my car is a college car, but not for the student. It is for the professor.

The owner's manual for my 2019 Kicks says to not drive at speeds over 65 mph for long periods or the cvt will overheat. Mine gets about 45mpg average on hwy driving. Maybe they changed the specs on the newer cvts.

    • @Jan96106
      @Jan96106 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I agree. My 2023 gets 42-44 on the expressway. I go 60-65 for 25 miles back and forth for a total of 50 miles, and it is fine. It also says not to floor it like many of the guys in the videos do to illustrate that it is slow in going from 0-60. I wanted a car that saves me money on gas. I'd rather accelerate more slowly as the manual suggests in order to extend the life of the CVT. I also plan on changing the oil every 3,000-5,000 miles and the CVT fluid and filter every 30,000 miles, along with making them clean the pan of shavings and dirty fluid.

Nissan appears to be upping their game a bit, but I’m still really skeptical. They’ve been building junk cars for 20+ years now, so it’ll take some time for them to shake that reputation. I think they would be well served to completely ditch the CVT as well, given that reputation still hangs heavily over them as well, and rightfully so.

since switching to 87 octane (i'd initially been filling up with 93 and 89) and keeping the tires pumped to 32-33 psi, i've been averaging 35-40 miles per gallon, sometimes even 45... 10,000 miles in to ownership of my 2019 kicks sv and i'm very pleased with it.

I've had one for a few days. So far, so good. The acceleration isn't as bad as proported, which really concerned me. Maybe it's because I'm so used to low hp vehicles, but it feels far more than simply adequate.

I just gave back my rental Rogue Sport after my car got fixed. I had pretty low expectations for this car but it was better than I thought. Nissan's new cvt mimicking shifts really made the experience so much better. Also averaged 28 mpg for the whole time i had it driving 5,000 miles and got 33 mpg on the highway. When I got my Ford Fusion Hybrid back I thought my power steering was broken because I got used to the Nissan's incredibly light steering XD. The car was much better than I thought but after driving a hybrid and test driving a Model 3, I can't go back to a pure ice car, I really hated idling constantly and spending more on gas.

Interesting that you're doing range tests with gasoline cars. I was excited about the 27 MPG highway figure of my last gas car, but it absolutely never got more than 24 mpg in the most sedate highway driving. We talk about how the range tests differ from reality in EVs, but I wonder how off they are in general.

I have a rental I’ve driven all over the east coast from VA to FL and all around and it constantly gets about 29mpg on interstate, and most everywhere really. I definitely expected better. It looks fine, and has some pros, but ultimately it’s an economy vehicle that could actually be better on gas, I think. Additionally a lot of the features are glitchy in mine. Also, I haven’t used the sport feature, but it definitely has much lag in the acceleration. Ultimately I enjoyed your video, and perhaps you got a better version than me.

You must drive like an idiot. I was averaging 37mpg doing uber and uber eats with it lol. Drive easy and mpg is good. I could get 29mpg also if I drove it at 90mph.

    Pros:
    fuel economy
    price
    lots of safety specs
    Cons:
slow acceleration(note: if you turn on the sport mode, it accelerates a little faster)
    a little noisy
seat can be uncomfortable if you're a heavy person.
This car is good for city driving, for teenagers wanting to have their first ever car, for short and medium size person.
