Hey roger keep up the great work, i love your videos they keep me entertained, im a labourer and have worked with plumbers but none are as good as you! Amazing content.
@@RogerWakefield Thank you for your useful videos! Unfortunately I can’t take the plastic locknut off from the outside of the toilet that connects the fill valve. I don’t want to saw it off. The space is also too tight to use tools. Is there any other way I can take it off? @roger Wakefield
@@RogerWakefieldI call the plumber about my toilet and I told the plumber guy that my toilet flush down slow so when he came over to my house and fix my toilet because it was clogged up when he use the toilet auger he say he saw nothing clogged up my toilet that’s when he told me I had to change my fill valve do u think it’s my fill valve that is makin my toilet flush down slow
Rags vs Bucket under the tank supply line. I get you'll need some rags, but I like a bucket to allow for "most" of the water to be tossed out versus wringing in the sink. Otherwise, thanks for the video!
I would like to try replacing the fill valve. Which way does the nut turn? I am an older woman trying to maintain my home, was quoted $400 to replace fill valve
Roger, are you saying that if my toilet is 'phantom flushing' a few minutes after it initially stops I should replace the fill valve? I've replaced the flapper, and the seal, moved the chain and adjusted the water level with the screw on the valve. It's still running...and then running....etc.
Might as well. If you’ve changed the flush valve and flapper, then the only part left is the fill valve. If everything’s new you shouldn’t have an issue
I agree with what Josh said...although it wouldn't hurt to go back and double check to make sure you installed those new parts correctly and securely. Hope it helps
You don’t need to vacuum the bottom. I put a buck under the old one. I then set the height on the new one. You can do this from the outside then fine tune with the rod. Then set it in the tank. Hold the old one down and remove the nut. You can hold enough pressure on it to hold the seal. Then pull it out and quickly stick the other one in. The bucket will catch any water that comes out. Then tighten the new one and do the rest
I've look through a lot of your videos and a lot of the toilets have a flap that's very visible. Our toilet doesn't. It's another tube that I guess has a flap underneath it. Cuz when we flush that tube lifts up to let the water go
Appreciate the information but this is supposed to be a video about a particular task. Didn’t need the backstory about the inspection and the property owner and every other damn thing. I’m a subscriber and appreciate your videos but had to make this comment.
Thank you for this video, Roger
Had a good laugh at the broken toilet seat bolt. Reminded me of every time I ever broke an exhaust manifold stud when servicing a vehicle.
They break so easily 😬😅
That’s why I don’t mind plumbing you can do pretty much any toilet repair in minutes. Gotta love a basic toilet.

Hey Roger I have a question for you. What would cause a relief valve to break in a flush valve?
Could be trash or too much pressure…
Good job Máster, way to go!!
Thanks! 😃

As a plumber Do You like the flushmate ? Is it worth?
I'm looking to get recommendations for fill vales. Was wondering what your go-to fill valve is.
I like the korky fill valves...but make sure its the same design that is currently in your toilet
@@RogerWakefield awesome! Thank you very much!

I got a plumber at my house today to change valves for 2 Toilets , and he quoted it as 2 hour job (2 X £144 ) + Material Cost.

The waters leaking from the fill valve and the white nut. I tried tightening it and it still didn’t work. Can anyone help me how can I fix it myself?
Hi
Do you river fish often?
Sometimes@@RogerWakefield
Why you whisper? Does the homeowner know you’re in there ?
🤣 the bathroom is small so I didn’t want to talk loud and it bounce off the walls and echo. Plus yes, the homeowner was there😅
