hey mate I'll be looking forward to see what you do here. I have the exact same car, stock except a cat back exhaust and a double DIN stereo. 70k genuine kms and a solid service history. We both scored decent rides. Congrats.
btw that paintwork looks amazing - mostly! Definitely lived in a garage. The rails, rear passenger trim and wipers arms are mint. Weather appears to be very unkind to these areas

Almost about to tick over 300k km in my 48w grey 06 WRX wagon. Full engine reconditioned at 250,000km. Love it to bits. Rolling 18” tuned by STI enkei’s.

Wow, pretty good KMs on the stock engine. Was there a particular reason you reconditioned at 250kms? Something go wrong or preventative maintenance?

@@OmniGarage Bought it in 2011 with 28,000km on the clock. Sold it 5 years later to buy a Black Liberty Tuned By STi wagon (manual) which I loved more than any car I've owned. Sold it i 2020 during peak COVID prices when I had my first child to buy my wife a Forester...Then I needed a runabout car, searched online and found a very familiar looking Crystal Grey WRX. Turned out to be my old one with another 200,000km on it plus some very handy but minor engine modifications and a simple tune. However this caused the head gasket to go. Ordered all replacement parts inc gaskets, complete hose set, ripped the engine out to resurface the heads etc, air pump delete (that you referenced) and an intense detail. As good as new. People hop in it and are gobsmacked it's done over 200,000km.

One of my all time favorite automobiles. Especially in that beautiful color scheme and those incredible looking gold wheels. I have a Nissan 370Z I bought used that was literally in like new condition which is why I bought it (10,000 miles on it when I bought it and it was already about 6 years old. I've had it four years and it only has 20,000 on it still! It was between the Z and one of these but the Z (at that time) was something I simply could NOT pass up. Like you said about the STI, when you see a great one, you act on it because there are thousands of 370Z's available for sale in every price category known to man BUT, there are VERY FEW with low miles and even more importantly not THRASHED by the previous owner(s). One of these STI's is still in my dreams......someday! By the time I buy one though, it will probably have to be a ground up restoration which is not really fiscally responsible in my own mind so I keep looking for a good one like you guys have found. Congrats mate. Enjoy your new sporty ride and I certainly look forward to future videos involving the "Subi Twins"!

Funny additional story about the WRX STI. I actually knew a guy who owned a Subaru dealership. He told me a funny story about when these first showed up at the dealership when they first came out. He and his head salesman went on a "test ride" and upon pulling back into the parking lot, he looked directly at the sales manager and said........."Put the keys to this in the safe and don't let anyone test drive it without either you or I riding with them, no other sales people!' They were shocked at the performance of this machine with it's 300 horsepower in a vehicle this small. The horsepower was almost double what the original base WRX had.

What’s the website you can get the parts? Partsouq?

    • @OmniGarage

Yep! That’s one of the sites. Any other good suggestions?

@@OmniGarage I use Partsouq all the time. I would be ordering every quarter from there. Such competitive pricing.

@scott-wright Only problem is I’m finding a lot of the products out of stock or unavailable.

@@OmniGarage Oh 100%, you need to add them to your wishlist and they notify you when back in stock. I've had parts on my wishlist for years. It's a long process...some of the interior parts you're chasing, I'd be very surprised if you found new old stock for them, affordably. I've been looking for years.
