can someone give me context? The in episode context: Due to Lawrence(their dad) not knowing the word for his morning crossword Phineas and Ferb learn the word aglet and decide that its weird no one knows the word. They learn the word and decide to teach it to folks, being Phineas and Ferb, they go overboard The context from the show writers: while brainstorming the word came up and one of the writers decided it would be funny for them to raise aglet awareness just for kicks
The Aglet Song was from a neat episode. It starts with the dad filling out a crossword puzzle and one of the words is aglet. When the dad reads the clue out loud the others shrug that they don’t know the answer, but the dad does and says it. The boys find it interesting that the thing at the end of the shoe has a name and begin sharing it with their friends who then all agree that the entire world should know it’s called an aglet. And so they begin a campaign that summer day to spread the word which ends up with a big stadium music number of them singing the aglet song. It’s definitely an episode that stood out to me because I was an adult who had worked in a shoe store and didn’t know the end thing on a shoelace had a name! I remember I was back in my hometown visiting family when the show came on the tv my niece was watching. I was helping her build a LEGO set and upon hearing the dad say the answer is aglet I expressed as much surprise and interest as the other characters. I thought it was just going to be some quick throw away moment in the show, but nope the entire episode was about the aglet complete with a song so I definitely couldn’t forget. I joked to my sister afterwards that someone in the writers’ room had this experience of people not knowing about aglets and decided to write an episode so more people would know....and another writer must’ve responded the way Candace does about it and that’s how we get her storyline. Definitely one of my favorite Phineas & Ferb episodes! And don’t worry, I had to inquire with my niece why Ferb and his dad speak with an English accent, too, as it threw me off. So yeah, this was my first experience of the show Phineas & Ferb. And Perry remains my favorite character from the show, too! Yet another angle of the story I hadn’t expected. It’s such a clever show! Between it and Gravity Falls, I honestly didn’t mind watching Disney Channel with my niece when I came home to visit since that was the channel she predominantly watched as a kid and my sister and parents would just turn on whatever tv she was in the room with to that station.
That's not how it happened. Their dada didn't know the answer so they went to Baljeet. Who opened up a book from a collceion on a shelf in his room called useless shoelace facts volume 4(?) And then finds out it's called an aglet. Then they go back home and tell their parents, and I can barely believe I still remember all this. 😂😂😂
'What Might've Been' is a great ending for the series, as in the beginning of the episode (when they're 18) Phineas is choosing a college. A little later, all the guys are together, just chatting and Phineas admits that he has a crush on Isabella, though he believes that he's completely in the friendzone. The others told him that Isabella had a crush on him for a loooooong time and we go from there. Later on, when Isabella and Phineas are chatting, she says that she had a crush on him and sort of gave up in high school because.... well, he hadn't noticed whatsoever. He then says that's when he just started having a crush on her....
Somebody Give Me A Grade is so ironic but so epic at the same time and I fully support it!! A high voice like that is perfect for rock- all classic rock singers sported it back in the day It’s also perfect because it’s a punk song- and punk is all about going against authority, but Baljeet’s song is about asking to be under authority and thats just clever in itself!! Lol 😂
i really related to that song as a kid bc i love punk rock but as a kid i was considered 'gifted' and have always felt the need for validation in the form of ranking and grades. i'm not so much that way anymore, but i still love punk rock and the song is still a banger
If you want context for what might have been, basically Isabella had a huge crush on phineas and he was to caught up in his wacky inventions to ever notice. When they got to high school, she realised that it just wouldn't ever happen, and she gave up on him. But phineas, upon going into high school, realised he now had feelings for Isabella. Buford, baljeet and ferb told him that Isabella had liked him when they were kids, and he rushed to try and see her and talk to her before she left for college. But he was too late so instead, they sang a full song about their love for each other.
I have seen Phineas and Ferb so many times and the one with them as adults is one of my favorite episodes. Because you find out that Phineas started having romantic feelings for Isabella in high school, but that was also when Isabella gave up on her romantic feelings for her. That's why I NEED a Phineas and Ferb TV show when they're in high school, and you see Phineas going crazy over Isabell, but she's oblivious to his feelings.
Phineas and Ferb songs I think would work well for these reactions (if you'd like to do a Part 4): - My Cruisin Sweet Ride - Big Honkin Hole in My Heart - All The Convoluted Reasons We Pretend to be Divorced - Drusselstein Driving Test Waltz - Hey Ferb - Weaponry - In The Empire - Rubber Bands Rubber Balls - Talk to Him - Adulting - Lies - Chains On Me - I'm Handsome - The Twelve Days of Christmas - Us Against the Universe
Dude. “What Might Have Been” is an emotional rollercoaster! 😭😭 Though this show was a bit after my time watching Disney, I did eventually get into it, and that song gets me every time.
Fun fact the carpe dime song comes from an episode where they remake the first episode as a musical number because it was created before they established the trend of having a song in every episode
Phineas didn’t have a crush on Isabella at first, but he eventually grew a crush on her without knowing the incredibly obvious fact that she had a crush on him, so he never made a move. And then everyone finally snapped like “she’s been in love with you for over a decade, you absolute buffoon”
So, I seriously recommend "Everything is better with Perry." The instrumentation and vocals are just 🔥🔥🔥"Little Brothers" hits you in the feels, and "Chain on Me" just hits DIFFERENT
Yess!!! Phineas and Ferb's songs are such bangers omg! Could you please look at the songs from their movie 'across the 2nd dimenstion'? Those are so amazing and very dear and nostalgic to me, every single song in the movie is a legit bop!
In terms of the Aglet song, it all started when Ferb's father was doing a crossword puzzle and one of the questions was what the tip of a shoelace was. Then Phineas and Ferb looked it up for him and wondered why many people didn't know what it was. Thus, the song. The episode where the song is from is called "Tip of the Day." You'll find more context there.
8:01, Lawrence, Ferb’s father/Phineas’s stepfather, was doing a crossword and neither he nor anyone else had any idea what the plastic tip of a shoelace was called until Baljeet ended up looking it up in a book so Phineas and Ferb decided to make sure as many people as possible knew that it was called the aglet and started this concert to do that.
Dude you got me over here bawling my eyes out from nostalgia. It was probably a bad idea to watch all three videos you have on Phineas and Ferb one after the other but it was so friggin worth it. PS: fun fact, the voice actors for Ferb and Vanessa are actually the two kids from the Love Actually movie and the characters end up together in the end, which is beautiful. PSS: if you want more recommendations I strongly recommend "You snuck your way right into my heart", "One scare oughtta do some good" or "Mom it's your birthday". Two real good tearjerkers and one creepy banger. Enjoy
I'm partial to the feel good and emotional songs in the series, and "What might have been" is definitely one of my favorites. I'd also recommend "My Sweet Ride" and "Mom it's your Birthday."
While I’m here (relatively) early- I, of course, have to recommend Phineas and Ferb songs I like which you haven’t done yet so please do “No one I’d rather go no where with”, “Big Honkin’ Hole in My Heart”, “Me, myself, and I”, “In the Empire”, “Isabella’s Birthday Song”, and “Ferb Latin” to name a few!! There’s really so many good songs though so I’m just stoked about all of these videos!! :)
For context behind Perry come home essentially the episode is about major monogram the person that Perry works for in his whole spy system thing telling Perry that he has to relocate to another house to continue his spy work Perry is super sad about this but sadly gathers up all their stuff in one of those cartoon sacks that they sling over-the-shoulder on a stick and then they leave the house and then from their branches off into two subplots one of which being Phineas and Ferb looking for Perry and the other being Perry feeling bad about leaving
Kinda crazy when you realise that phineas and ferb as a show is like spongebob, fairly odd parents, or jimmy neutron where there is NO overarching plot or goal, just many adventures. Yet just like those other 3 shows they are still able to make excellent music and entertaining and memorable series with just that. Pure creativity and genius 👌
Honestly one of my favorites from the show is the "mix and mingle machine" song. I havent seen the show in years but that is the one I remember and sing all the time
A song a lot of people sleep on that I think is great is Alien Heart, which is sung by Phineas and Ferb's dad pretending to be an 80's pop star. If you do another one of these, that's my recommendation
There are so many more songs you can do from Phineas and Ferb that are amazing. I'm partial to the Rubber Banads song. But if you get the chance, you should check out Tangled the Series: Nothing Left to Lose, Ready as I'll Ever Be, Let Me Make You Proud, Waiting in the Wings, Crossing the Line, Everything I Ever Thought I knew, etc.
You already love the music and the humor. At this point you should probably just watch the show. It has a very simple concept, but it's executed so incredibly well that the repetitiveness actually adds to it's greatness. The humor is on point and the show knows when to subvert expectations.
that's the whole deal with Phineas and Ferb: we don't know why it is this good, it just is! If you're planning on checking some more songs, I strongly recommend "I Give Up", "Frenemies", "Destroyed Dreams" and "Welcome to Tokyo". All certified bops!
Ok, no one is suggesting songs from the movies, so I’ll do it. The most popular ones are: everything’s better with perry; brand new best friend;summer, where do we begin?; adulting; and us against the Universe.
Mathew, the fact that you're asking why they're singing about Aglets is actually the joke! 😂 Dan Povinmore actually made a tiktok about it. He just got a kick out of the idea. Lol
Where I'm from A.G.L.E.T. was a smash hit, Because all the wordplay could be adapted seamlessly And when that episode aired the word for aglet became the new playground rumour, As half the people hadn't seen the episode and nobody's parents knew the word. It's one of those social phenomena that you have to experience to understand.
“Why does Ferb sound so English though?” Because he is lol. Ferb and his father are both from England and emigrated to America at one point. Lawrence met Linda (Phineas and Candace’s mom), fell in love, and they were married. So they’re a blended family that’s half English and half American
i snorted when he said 'i hope none of these other songs are emotional gut punches' and then he says that the next songs are Carpe Diem and What Might Have Been
Fun Fact: Ferbs Voice in German in so deep for a child that when i watched it the first time i figured that he was insecure about his voice and didn't spoke often because of that.
Phineas and Ferb was my childhood, I would always either record or be ready for new episode releases on TV. And I feel so happy watching the music for the show getting the attention it deserves. The show was truly amazing, I miss it every day. ♡
If its alright.... I would also like for you to react to one of "Sofia the First" songs? Every song is beautifully portrayed and composed. Each and every song slaps, while also the music and vocals are a must. The songs I would like to again recommend for you to listen is "Bigger is Better", "Princess Things", "All you Desire", or "Perfect Slumber Party"
I LOVE SOFIA THE FIRST SONGS!!! One of the things I love is Amber's high notes. I mean, seriously, those are impressive. One song I am always listening is "On My Own", but I also love "Wings of a Dream" and "Stronger Than You Know". And let's not forget Sofia the First's sister show, Elena of Avalor. That one also has great songs, especially in their crossover.
I also like the ones from the pilot- specifically "I'm not ready to be a princess", and "Just a little bit to eat". Also, Blue Ribbon Bunny is a fun song sidbjdbdhdhxb
Baljeet's the stereotypical nerd of Phineas and Ferb, so he got really peeved he didn't have a grade. Something that got skipped in the video is Baljeet getting mad, wanting an outlet for it, and realizing what he can do.
8:35 Ferb sounds english because he is. Phineus and Ferb are a blended family 2 parents with children from their previous marriages. Their mother is American and father is British.
If you like these, I recommend listening to Milo Murphy's Law songs. MML is an amazing show and it's made by the same people who made Phineas and Ferb and the songs are amazing
This video sent down the rabbit hole that is your channel. Good job. When you do the inevitable fourth installment of Phineas and Ferb songs here's what I recommend: . History of Rock . Whatcha Doin? . Fabulous . Alien Heart . Queen of Mars . Evil Love . I Need My Letter Back . Gordian Knot . My Sweet Ride . You Snuck Your Way Right Into My Heart . My Nemesis . Your Goin' Down . Yodel Odel Obey Me . Sithinator And there's so many more it's honestly insane. You may wanna consider a mega video for this series lol.
I’d really think you’d enjoy “Us Against The Universe” and “Watcha Doin”, there are a lot more good ones but these are the ones i’d like to see you react to the most if you were to do another. And If you’re looking for something else I really recommend the Cookie Run soundtrack, especially “I promise”, “I want you every day”, and “Everything You Need”
7:58 I don't remember exactly why but the plot of the episode was about aglet(s). But it's a good question. *WHY* ? XD Edit : 8:34 Ferb is british so that's why :)
Ferb is British. Also, the aglet thing started because the dad Lawrence was doing a crossword and couldn't remember what the plastic bit on a shoelace is called. Phineas and Ferb learn that it is called an aglet and get the idea to spread the word about aglets to everyne.
I definitely recommend a old childhood show called Grojband. It's a group of kids who started a band and they have a song EVERY episode. My favorite is "my mind" but i love a bunch of their songs.
Love that you are doing more Phineas and Ferb! I know you already did some songs from the episode but it would be really cool if you reacted to their musical episode "Rollercoaster: The Musical!". You would get a good glimpse at the show's episode formula just with way more songs than usual!
Maybe I should check this show out sometime. I keep putting it off because of the art style. pfft... I'm hoping that you'll react to more musical cartoons like Tangled the Series and Centaurworld. IDK why, but I just love seeing characters burst into song. Even more so when real effort gets put into the quality of the music.
Hey! I would really enjoy it if you reacted to a band called Tally Hall! They don’t really have a genre, but they still make very good music. I would recommend songs like Ruler of Everything, The Bidding, Cannibal, Turn The Lights Off, Spring And A Storm, Welcome to Tally Hall, and maybe Hidden In The Sand or Taken For A Ride. If you want to see their weirder side, watch the Banana Man music video!
8:34 Because he's British! He's actually adopted (kind of), because when Phineas and Candace's mom remarried to Laurence, she adopted Ferb as well. He grew up in Britain, which is why he has the accent.
My recommendations for more P&F songs are My Sweet Ride, Deep into your mind, Us against the universe, I need my letter back, Robot Riot and History of Rock
7:58 basically they were super upset bc they spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the end of a shoelace is called bc not a lot of people knew so they wrote a song to help other people remember
Another phinabella song you could listen to is happy birthday Isabella, it’s not sad like what might have been but it is adorable and Isabella literally just expresses how much of a simp she is
My goody-two-shoes brother, brand new best friend, I really don't hate Christmas, I'm handsome and an army of me are some of my favorite songs sung by Doofenshmirtz (Perry's villain he has to fight). Would highly recommend them!
Man, Phineas and Ferb's songs are just incredibly awesome. I now recommend "summer (where do we begin)", "in the empire", "the universe is against me" and "whalemingo"
You HAVE to listen to "Me, Myself and I" it's an awesome song! Oh and "Tomorrow is this Morning again" and AND "Lunar Taste Sensation" they are so good! Oh and I forgot about "Rubber Bands, Rubber Balls" an incredible song! And of course "Meatloaf" love this one! Ok one more you need to listen to "A Brand New Best Friend"!
I want him to react to the “History of Rock” song so bad. It’s one of my favorites from Phineas and Ferb just for the sheer number of music styles in it
I need to just watch your Phineas and Ferb reactions now. I am was starting to listen to one on my phone and I accidentally clicked a button which took me to an ad and now I can't find the one I was starting to react to

The context from the show writers: while brainstorming the word came up and one of the writers decided it would be funny for them to raise aglet awareness just for kicks
You NEED to listen to the finale song, Time Spent Together/Thank You for Comin' Along. It is the PERFECT ending to the show!!!
And yes, Gravity Falls!!! 🥺😭
A high voice like that is perfect for rock- all classic rock singers sported it back in the day
It’s also perfect because it’s a punk song- and punk is all about going against authority, but Baljeet’s song is about asking to be under authority and thats just clever in itself!! Lol 😂
i really related to that song as a kid bc i love punk rock but as a kid i was considered 'gifted' and have always felt the need for validation in the form of ranking and grades. i'm not so much that way anymore, but i still love punk rock and the song is still a banger
Ashley Tisdale (candace) also played Sharpay in the 3 original high school musicals, so she knows her way around a microphone.
Well, two new seriers are comming, we might get just that.
But I hope for the old school style myself. A one episode about it might be cool though
Phineas and Ferb songs I think would work well for these reactions (if you'd like to do a Part 4):
- My Cruisin Sweet Ride
- Big Honkin Hole in My Heart
- All The Convoluted Reasons We Pretend to be Divorced
- Drusselstein Driving Test Waltz
- Hey Ferb
- Weaponry
- In The Empire
- Rubber Bands Rubber Balls
- Talk to Him
- Adulting
- Lies
- Chains On Me
- I'm Handsome
- The Twelve Days of Christmas
- Us Against the Universe
Adulting gets stuck in my head every 2-3 days!
Adulting? Now we’re bringing Candace Against the Universe into the mix? Lol. That’s a whole different can of worms!
If he did the sweet ride one it'd almost be funny if he did the Milo murphys law parody version
Yes, big hinking hole is perfect. He should do the swinter song too.
If he wants a guy punch he should listen to “little brothers” stacys voice is super good
2:08 Come home Parry
4:29 Give me a grade
6:44 A-G-L-E-T
8:27 Carpe De Um
10:14 What might have been
Carpe Diem*
Mom, it’s your birthday is really good. I love that song.
I sing the Aglet song to this day! It'll just pop in my head randomly. Still a bop.
Great reaction! Good to see "Somebody gimme a grade" included! It is very underrated!
I strongly suggest for more Phineas and Ferb songs, Haunted by you, Big Ginormous Plain and My Cruisin’ Sweet Ride or any song that Ferb sings :D
I mean, Candace is voiced by Ashley Tisdale sooooo it's no surprise. Also, Alyson Stoner does Isabella's voice which is why they're so intense..
Pure creativity and genius 👌
you gotta do evil love next. doof has a lot of underrated songs since no one expects him to be able to sing so well.
Alien heart is amazing
I hihly recommend "Backyard Beach" (Ferb's vocal doesn't get enough love) and "Queen of Mars".
Rubber bands. Rubber balls.
I'm glab you're doing more of these because phineos and ferb show was my show when I was younger so, this makes me dance!
All great songs I was thinking about I give up. It’s a really good song I like it.
Lol
Where I'm from A.G.L.E.T. was a smash hit,
Because all the wordplay could be adapted seamlessly
And when that episode aired the word for aglet became the new playground rumour,
As half the people hadn't seen the episode and nobody's parents knew the word.
It's one of those social phenomena that you have to experience to understand.
At the Song about phineas and Isabella i everytime be emotional 🥹
“Why does Ferb sound so English though?” Because he is lol. Ferb and his father are both from England and emigrated to America at one point. Lawrence met Linda (Phineas and Candace’s mom), fell in love, and they were married. So they’re a blended family that’s half English and half American
“Isabella has a crush on Phineas?”
You have no idea of how OBSESSED she was 😂😂😂
7:56 WATCH THE EPISODE 😂😂😂 i love this reaction
Carpe Diem is one of those songs that make me SO HAPPY that It makes me feel sad
i snorted when he said 'i hope none of these other songs are emotional gut punches' and then he says that the next songs are Carpe Diem and What Might Have Been
Fun Fact: Ferbs Voice in German in so deep for a child that when i watched it the first time i figured that he was insecure about his voice and didn't spoke often because of that.
The llama’s song is awesome!!!!
Chop away at my heart please!
Plus there’s Wierd Al as Milo. So there’s that. Lol. Like the “Rooting For the Enemy” song is amazing.
@@catherinewilson5441 So…many…commas…
@@nataliemccarthy9140 “I will give you this dollar I found in your pocket to stop this”
“Oh you can keep that” 😂😂😂
This video sent down the rabbit hole that is your channel. Good job. When you do the inevitable fourth installment of Phineas and Ferb songs here's what I recommend:
. History of Rock
. Whatcha Doin?
. Fabulous
. Alien Heart
. Queen of Mars
. Evil Love
. I Need My Letter Back
. Gordian Knot
. My Sweet Ride
. You Snuck Your Way Right Into My Heart
. My Nemesis
. Your Goin' Down
. Yodel Odel Obey Me
. Sithinator
And there's so many more it's honestly insane.
*WHY* ? XD
Edit : 8:34 Ferb is british so that's why :)
7:00 Honestly, an entire generation (atleast mine) learned about the aglet through Phineas and Ferb, like genuinely 🤣
I would love to see "evil love", "i'm lindana and i want to have fun",and "alien heart".
The Aglet song is the reason a generation will never forget about it, including me
They do end up together, yes. Candace’s future babies refer to her as “Aunt Isabella” in one episode, implying it.
Another phinabella song you could listen to is happy birthday Isabella, it’s not sad like what might have been but it is adorable and Isabella literally just expresses how much of a simp she is
My nemesis is another amazing one
"Did they just come back in another key?"
Yes, yes they did.
"Perry turning evil would be so sad!"
*coughs in Across the 2D Dimension*
I suggest "the universe is against me", "such a beautiful day", "us against the universe" and "adulting" for more great p&f songs
Don't forget "ain't got no rhythm"
@@amberw5778 I think he already did that
@@amberw5778 dont forget the other songs in the episode
8:36, Ferb hails from England. He and Phineas are stepbrothers.
Two of my favorite P&F songs are "Livin' in a Fun House" and "The Paper Pelican Floor Show" (aka "Big Ginormous Airplane")
Ooh! And "Bee Day"!
I love this series so much! These Phineas and Ferb videos made me subscribe. Backyard Beach and Robot Riot are some absolutely bangers to listen to
I want him to react to the “History of Rock” song so bad. It’s one of my favorites from Phineas and Ferb just for the sheer number of music styles in it
You have to listen to "not so bad a dad". easily the best and most underrated song from the show.
Loved the video, hope to see more Phineas and Ferb! My suggestions are Adulting and Such A Beautiful Day from the movie, Candace against the universe.
I need to just watch your Phineas and Ferb reactions now. I am was starting to listen to one on my phone and I accidentally clicked a button which took me to an ad and now I can't find the one I was starting to react to
If you ever pick this up again, I'd recommend "Shot in the Butt with a Dart." And probably "Evil Love."
"I love the crazy visuals"
Those were basically flashbacks to various other episodes.
CONTEXT FOR WHY PERRY THE PLATYPUS WENT MISSING: okie dokie! Lol Perry The Platypus was getting RE-ASSIGNED to a different more DANGEROUS VILLAIN than Doofensmirtz!
