Maybe not $200 for just the camera upgrades, but when you add the ProMotion, the bigger batteries and consider the more premium materials it starts to become a lot more appealing for $200 up charge. The way I look at it is your phone has literally become the gateway to how you do everything anymore so I don’t have any problem justifying extra $200 for infinitely better meaningful features

2:41 Compression is dictated by the distance between the subject and the camera, not by the type of lens. So, if you capture the 13 shot from the same place as the 13 Pro, the compression will be the same when you crop.
If you want to see all of the details watch in 4K and preferably on a larger display! If you watch 360P on your phone they’ll probably look similar lol.
I really liked the iPhone 13 mini. I honestly find the iPhone 13 Pro [Max] to be an overkill, tho I can't deny that it have the best battery and superb cameras. But lots of people only really need the basics and what the base model iPhone 13 can offer is already more than enough.
Better to have more when you need it than less and battery loses capacity over time so the mini will need to be charge more often the longer you keep it but buying the max you wouldn’t notice the difference because it really good to begin with
I honestly don't mind camera flare. I've been a pro photographer for 12 years and actually liked the look that vintage lenses gave, and even added flare in post to photos sometimes.

ok but what about the level of details you get with a telephoto lens and the lack of distortions? If you use the main camera it just lacks details and it distort the subject. You can turn it whatever way you like you are simple not using the right lens. Telephoto lens rules for portrait IMHO
Both cameras are amazing cameras, if you’re just looking for a camera for hobby photography, business use that doesn’t require the best camera just a camera that captures amazing detail, family use / for memories, get the 13. But you’re relying on the camera for serious use or really need the best out of the camera 13 pro all the way.
For your shots, you should put down which lens you used (ultra wide, wide, or telephoto). The iPhone 13 Pro wide angle (main) lens has a larger 44mm^2 sensor which has a F6.8 FF equivalent aperture. The regular iPhone 13 wide angle (main) lens has a 35.2mm^2 sensor which has a F8.2 FF equivalent aperture. This is a big advantage, some people even say you can get some natural bokeh with the iPhone 13 Pro if you get close enough. Bokeh is pronounced "bo kay" too BTW.
to me what makes the pro version good is that nice zoom you get with portrait mode but then i remember you need a friend to take that photo of you so i guess it won't matter to me
10:59 The Pro doesn't actually use the tele lens but the normal wide and crops in at 3x because at darker scenes the Pro doesn't make use of the tele because of too much noise compared to the wide lens. But this way in my opinion you get a way worse picture because it doesn't use the full 12 megapixel. It's aweful
If I were choosing between these 2 levels of phones, I would never get the 13. I would choose the Pro if I wanted that size factor. But I might choose the 13 Mini because it’s so smaller and lighter and easier for 1 hand use and to slip in your pocket.
yeah cause you're a hipster wanting to be different like so many tech geeks now. 13 is the mass market model out of all the different iphone models... it ticks all the necessary boxes and has much better battery life than mini for just 100 bucks more.

ya unless your taking pictures everyday fr i thought the pro is a lil overkill. Iphone photos are gonna be the best quality regardless, i think it’s kinda a stretch to compare them to each other.

If you care about: - Keeping the phone for as long as possible - Sensor-Shift Stabilization - Cinematic Mode - Smaller Notch - Newer/ better battery - having the second fastest iPhone out Get the 13 If you care about: - Premium Design - A Telephoto lens - LiDar - ProRaw Get the 12 Pro Overall if design, a tele-lens and Lidar don't matter to you, the 13 is the better buy because its the newer model. I can say from personal experience that, unless you use a lot of AR LiDar really doesn't matter. (My X, XS and 11 Pro did AR fine the few times I used it) However since I got a LiDar capable iPhone I started using AR more since it is way more accurate. (The iOS measure App is usually accurate witin 1-2cm with my 13 Pro where as my non LiDar iPhones were always off by 5-15cm) Since the LiDar Scanner doesn't seem to be upgraded over the 12 Pro in the 13 Pro (Apple didn't mention anything and no Reviewer I watch has said anything either) I'd expect the 12 Pro to be equally as accurate as the 13 Pro. In day-to-day usage I'd expect the 12 Pro and the 13 to be almost indistinguishable as were still talking about the most recent and the second-most recent iPhones out and both phones can do almost the same in terms of OS. This will probably stay this way for a while. (Especially since the A14 and A15 are really close in terms of CPU-Performance) So, excluding GPU-Heavy tasks (the A15 GPU is way better than the A14) both phones should perform almost identical.
can you do a in depth display comparison between the 13 pro and the 13? since the pro models display is from samsung and nobody did such comparison. Would like to know if one oled is better than the other or what kind of differences there are else
*Manufactured by Samsung. If there are any differences (which there likely will be), it won't be because of Samsung, it will be because of Apple's design intent.

With that said, people are making it sound like Samsung has a leg up on Apple in smartphone comparisons since the iPhone X, due to the fact that they manufacture Apple's displays. Not only that, when you work with a CM to manufacture a product, both parties agree upon a specific acceptable range of quality and yield. Apple is one of the top hardware companies in the world, I'm a hardware engineer and PM, I'd know. They are one of the few companies that has the resources to throw bottomless pits of money at their teams to find the right suppliers to supplement a multi-source supply chains.
i love my 13 pro, currently doing more photos on it then on my mirrorless…. just so convenient and gets the job done. i use only my 70-350 Zoom and use my phone before i switch lenses

@@andrewfossesca1375 false, iphone 13 has almost exactly the same battery life as 13 pro. only 13 pro max has significant battery life advantage. regular 13 has bigger battery than 13 pro actually which pretty much nullifies 13 pro's more energy efficient screen advantage. most tests show 13 pro lasting only 15 min longer than regular 13... and 120hz... I've owned 120hz screens since 2012... and on a tiny phone screen it doesnt matter. even on desktop I don't really care about the difference, only in fast paced shooter games do you even notice it really. also the difference is more than 200 bucks after taxes. in my country the price difference is almost the price of apple watch 7, which is easy choice for me. i'll choose the watch over mostly irrelevant differences imo.
If you want to shoot portraits with a standard wide lens you need to put the subject in the centre, where there is least distortion. Mis-using a wide lens on portraits will always be a shlt-show
The distortion he's talking about isn't from the subject not being in the center of frame, it's from having to be closer to the subject to get the same framing as the telephoto. When you move closer it de-flattens the person's face and emphasizes their nose.
Some of this is unrealistic. Why take a shot far away from a ring or your brother when you really want to close up and then crop into that to try to match a macro? I think of people wanted a closer shot they would just take a few steps in. It’s really just that easy for most shots. Nevertheless the pro gives you more flexibility as well as a better screen and battery.

Yeah.. my problem with the pro is its too bulky... the matetials used are waaay too heavy.. well, i understand that it is the only way to make it feel more premium... but figured, i dont need it.. i also dont use the camera that often... If there is one feature however that i want from the pro.. that would be the 120 hrz. Refresh rate. To be honest, the regular 13 and mini.. should have at least gotten the 90 hrz reftesh rate based on the price it is asking.. i mean, in 2021, more affordable phones have 120 hrz you know... apple has been shameless on that part. 🙈🙉🙊
These hype channels are getting old... Comparing zoom is pointless in this case because everyone knows regular 13 does not have telephoto lens. Its like comparing 10x zoom with 13 Pro Max vs S21 Ultra and then being "shocked" how much better S21 Ultra looks with its dedicated 10x telephoto lens lol 😂 When it comes to taking pictures and video with the main camera, 13 is actually almost identical with 13 Pro.
No telephoto is deal breaker.. I buy in 2019 xiaomi mi9 for 380€ and have telephoto lens. 13 pro is good phone but regular and mini just overprice my opinion. Especially not us users

I have the 13 Pro and I LOVE the camera. I like the cinematic mode, the photographic styles, the AMAZING crispness of the portrait photos. I took a bunch of pictures and video in Chicago and i am blown away. It’s amazing.
I got the iPhone 13 pro and every time I take a photo, it comes an automatic adjust of light and sharpness and I really hate it, I don’t know if is possible to get it off
People underestimate the weight difference. Also the huge bump on the pro gets in the way when handling the phone and using certain MagSafe accessories.
@@SolPolaris Considering Pro has to drive 100% faster refresh rate screen it has to have faster GPU to hit those FPS especially in graphically intensive tasks and games. Relative to screen refresh rate regular 13 has faster GPU. And really nobody should care about 120hz on phone. I've used 120hz monitors on desktop since 2012, and the difference between 60hz is not eye shattering... Its there, but it has never became obsession to me. Laughable how many now obsess over 120hz on tiny phone screens 😂

The cost of a pro model with 128gigs storage costs $1600 and the regular model with 128 gigs costs $1050. Is it reasonable to spend extra $550 to choose pro over regular model with this differences ? can you try to take night photos with max time (exposure/shutter speed) with iphone 13 pro? They made it to take photos faster at night, but i think we will see the power of the new sensors with more time to capture the light. For me the true comparisson will be 5 seconds for iphone 13 and 5 seconds for 13 pro.

You do realise you can choose how long you want the night mode photo to take for, right? Leaving it on the default and just saying "it's bad" is your fault, not the phone's. If you actually took control over the photo, you'd get a better result
I would definitely choose the 13 pro instead of the 13 if money was no object. However, in India, the difference between the two is 40000 rupees. I dont see any phone being worth that kind of difference. It paid for my Applecare+ and more!
I think it’s unfair to say it’s a whole $200 upgrade for just the cameras. With the pro’s you get pro-motion, the extra GPU core, you have 3 rear cameras instead of the 2. I think it’s worth the upgrade to get a pro unless you are getting the mini.
That was kinda his point actually. That the camera system alone is worth every dollar. Hence the Pro is definitely worth the extra $200 because of all those other features you guys mentioned
I agree. I bought the 256g blue 13 mini and I love it. If any of them has to be scrapped, it should be the 13 standard. It Just seems so obsolete when u might as well get the pro if it’s gonna be the same size
I would 50% agree with you because not all people care about or use those features. Most people just use their phone for casual things like, browsing, taking general photos, making phone calls, watching videos, browsing social media etc. In my experience with the 4 phones I’ve noticed very minor differences besides design, size and color It’s basically up to the customers to decide because some people might find the three cameras or huge camera bump pretty ugly and some might like the glass back more then the frosted glass back Personally I think people who just want the newest iPhone for general use should go with the regular 13 because it’s $200 less expensive instead of $200 more for things that they might not even use or even know what they do I think people should only get the pro if they know exactly what the additional features do and know that they definitely need them for gaming, photography, 4K video, max brightness, tons of apps, etc So don’t think you NEED to go with the pro to get a nice upgrade

For social media you can get away with 2x digital zoom on a sensor outputting 12mp. You will still end up with a 1080p like image, and companies like Google, Samsung and Apple will use some more post processing to make it seem better.
that’s exactly my problem! i take makeup/face photos and the 13/13 mini had so much distortion, it’s so bad! but i just buy a new lens telephoto 2x by apexel! i hope this help me a lit bit… i see the moment lens are so good but too expensive too

Im dissappointed with my ip13 promax when in video mode there is no manual on for led light you have to wait for the flash sign to turn yellow so it will light up when recording while my ip8 plus got manual on and off for led flash

Since the LiDar Scanner doesn't seem to be upgraded over the 12 Pro in the 13 Pro (Apple didn't mention anything and no Reviewer I watch has said anything either) I'd expect the 12 Pro to be equally as accurate as the 13 Pro.
In day-to-day usage I'd expect the 12 Pro and the 13 to be almost indistinguishable as were still talking about the most recent and the second-most recent iPhones out and both phones can do almost the same in terms of OS. This will probably stay this way for a while. (Especially since the A14 and A15 are really close in terms of CPU-Performance) So, excluding GPU-Heavy tasks (the A15 GPU is way better than the A14) both phones should perform almost identical.
I thought the macro lens would be the reason to upgrade, but now I think that 3x telephoto lens is also great, especially with portraits.

can you do a in depth display comparison between the 13 pro and the 13? since the pro models display is from samsung and nobody did such comparison. Would like to know if one oled is better than the other or what kind of differences there are else
*Manufactured by Samsung. If there are any differences (which there likely will be), it won't be because of Samsung, it will be because of Apple's design intent.

@@aryanjairath2143 I give credit to Samsung in that they are such a diversified business, it's very impressive. Apple isn't nearly as diversified. With that said, people are making it sound like Samsung has a leg up on Apple in smartphone comparisons since the iPhone X, due to the fact that they manufacture Apple's displays.
Not only that, when you work with a CM to manufacture a product, both parties agree upon a specific acceptable range of quality and yield. Apple is one of the top hardware companies in the world, I'm a hardware engineer and PM, I'd know. They are one of the few companies that has the resources to throw bottomless pits of money at their teams to find the right suppliers to supplement a multi-source supply chains.
I say it again, mobile cameras are so good now that i will not pay to upgrade for that reason
i love my 13 pro, currently doing more photos on it then on my mirrorless…. just so convenient and gets the job done. i use only my 70-350 Zoom and use my phone before i switch lenses

You get a way better battery life, a 120hz display which is twice as fast as the normal 13, and a better camera. In my opinion it is worth it
@@andrewfossesca1375 false, iphone 13 has almost exactly the same battery life as 13 pro. only 13 pro max has significant battery life advantage. regular 13 has bigger battery than 13 pro actually which pretty much nullifies 13 pro's more energy efficient screen advantage. most tests show 13 pro lasting only 15 min longer than regular 13... and 120hz... I've owned 120hz screens since 2012... and on a tiny phone screen it doesnt matter. even on desktop I don't really care about the difference, only in fast paced shooter games do you even notice it really. also the difference is more than 200 bucks after taxes. in my country the price difference is almost the price of apple watch 7, which is easy choice for me. i'll choose the watch over mostly irrelevant differences imo.

If you want to shoot portraits with a standard wide lens you need to put the subject in the centre, where there is least distortion. Mis-using a wide lens on portraits will always be a shlt-show
The distortion he's talking about isn't from the subject not being in the center of frame, it's from having to be closer to the subject to get the same framing as the telephoto. When you move closer it de-flattens the person's face and emphasizes their nose.
Some of this is unrealistic. Why take a shot far away from a ring or your brother when you really want to close up and then crop into that to try to match a macro? I think of people wanted a closer shot they would just take a few steps in. It’s really just that easy for most shots. Nevertheless the pro gives you more flexibility as well as a better screen and battery.
Because we're looking for differences in capability...

Yeah.. my problem with the pro is its too bulky... the matetials used are waaay too heavy.. well, i understand that it is the only way to make it feel more premium... but figured, i dont need it.. i also dont use the camera that often...
If there is one feature however that i want from the pro.. that would be the 120 hrz. Refresh rate. To be honest, the regular 13 and mini.. should have at least gotten the 90 hrz reftesh rate based on the price it is asking.. i mean, in 2021, more affordable phones have 120 hrz you know... apple has been shameless on that part. 🙈🙉🙊

Lidar does nothing for portraits, block the lidar with something while taking portraits and there's no difference. I've tested these

These hype channels are getting old... Comparing zoom is pointless in this case because everyone knows regular 13 does not have telephoto lens. Its like comparing 10x zoom with 13 Pro Max vs S21 Ultra and then being "shocked" how much better S21 Ultra looks with its dedicated 10x telephoto lens lol 😂 When it comes to taking pictures and video with the main camera, 13 is actually almost identical with 13 Pro.

I have the 13 Pro and I LOVE the camera. I like the cinematic mode, the photographic styles, the AMAZING crispness of the portrait photos. I took a bunch of pictures and video in Chicago and i am blown away. It’s amazing.

I love that the 13 is much lighter and still feels nice in the hand, and also performs just as well!
People underestimate the weight difference. Also the huge bump on the pro gets in the way when handling the phone and using certain MagSafe accessories.

@@SolPolaris Considering Pro has to drive 100% faster refresh rate screen it has to have faster GPU to hit those FPS especially in graphically intensive tasks and games. Relative to screen refresh rate regular 13 has faster GPU. And really nobody should care about 120hz on phone. I've used 120hz monitors on desktop since 2012, and the difference between 60hz is not eye shattering... Its there, but it has never became obsession to me. Laughable how many now obsess over 120hz on tiny phone screens 😂

there pro is worth it especially the 256gb, the 128gb records prores at 1080p 30fps and the 256gb records 4k at 30fps also pro motion
Just to be clear that is only for the prores format. You’ll still get 4k on other formats
But the truth most ppl will find out they cant use preres then edit in the computer. If no editing it won't be better than normal 4k. You can shoot 6 mins then your phone is full. Should get fx3 instead let the pro to do pro job.

can you try to take night photos with max time (exposure/shutter speed) with iphone 13 pro? They made it to take photos faster at night, but i think we will see the power of the new sensors with more time to capture the light. For me the true comparisson will be 5 seconds for iphone 13 and 5 seconds for 13 pro.

You do realise you can choose how long you want the night mode photo to take for, right? Leaving it on the default and just saying "it's bad" is your fault, not the phone's. If you actually took control over the photo, you'd get a better result

I would definitely choose the 13 pro instead of the 13 if money was no object. However, in India, the difference between the two is 40000 rupees. I dont see any phone being worth that kind of difference. It paid for my Applecare+ and more!

I think it’s unfair to say it’s a whole $200 upgrade for just the cameras. With the pro’s you get pro-motion, the extra GPU core, you have 3 rear cameras instead of the 2. I think it’s worth the upgrade to get a pro unless you are getting the mini.

I agree. I bought the 256g blue 13 mini and I love it. If any of them has to be scrapped, it should be the 13 standard. It Just seems so obsolete when u might as well get the pro if it’s gonna be the same size

Most people just use their phone for casual things like, browsing, taking general photos, making phone calls, watching videos, browsing social media etc.
In my experience with the 4 phones I’ve noticed very minor differences besides design, size and color
It’s basically up to the customers to decide because some people might find the three cameras or huge camera bump pretty ugly and some might like the glass back more then the frosted glass back
Personally I think people who just want the newest iPhone for general use should go with the regular 13 because it’s $200 less expensive instead of $200 more for things that they might not even use or even know what they do
I think people should only get the pro if they know exactly what the additional features do and know that they definitely need them for gaming, photography, 4K video, max brightness, tons of apps, etc
So don’t think you NEED to go with the pro to get a nice upgrade

I think the dynamic range difference has to do with extra GPU core in the Pros.
Where goes iPhone's warm toning look😥i m missing it.this phones look more realistic
For social media you can get away with 2x digital zoom on a sensor outputting 12mp. You will still end up with a 1080p like image, and companies like Google, Samsung and Apple will use some more post processing to make it seem better.
After watching a few TH-camrs who swear by the iPhone mini, I still haven't decided between the 13 mini and the 13 pro.

Im dissappointed with my ip13 promax when in video mode there is no manual on for led light you have to wait for the flash sign to turn yellow so it will light up when recording while my ip8 plus got manual on and off for led flash
