The thought of Dan, Tom, Matt and Oli from bring me being stuck in some random Swiss guys house on a mountain when they’re meant to be at a gig is hilarious
Newcastle, Australia, maybe 2009 - Sam jumps of a riser on the side of the stage, continues the song in the foetal position. After the song: "I think I've broken my ankle..." hahahaha
I was there at Copenhell 2023 waiting for Architects, I was so sad. Napalm Death did cancel half their set, some shows were delayed, but Architects were the only show fully cancelled. At least I got to see them in Forum half a year later.
Saw them in Boston, Massachusetts last year May 2023. Sam said he couldn't hear his voice because his ear piece was broken, and apologized to the crowd if he sounded like crap during the first few songs of the set. Not a single person knew because his vocals were so on point. Great performance.
Being in a band (Russian Girl), I can totally relate to most of these stories (apart from the Switzerland one, we never go hiking before a show lol). But tour manager suggestions can be like this indeed - yeah let's play in smaller towns to an audience who has never heard about us before, it should be a riot! Then you go to the venue and six people are there and a cat. And after the show sometimes only the cat remains (no matter that you played well because they expected the new Iron Maiden or a gypsy wedding music band). It is not always like this but beginner bands will always experience stories like Architects - I was told by professionals that it might take 3-4 (sometimes 5-6) years to get any kind of proper recognition so - don't give up I guess. :D
I actually love this video. Reminds me a lot of the Architects mid 2000s tour videos shot on potato cameras, everyone in skinny jeans, fringes everywhere, so good.
Great video, DIFFUS. Looking forward to your next upload! I smashed that thumbs up button on your content. Keep up the awesome work! Your anecdotes about the shows really highlight the unpredictable nature of touring. How do you think these experiences have shaped your approach to live performances today?
I was at that Bitter End show. There was an okayish venue in Romford called Musictek (Beecher/Eden Maine played there) which had recently shut down, so the pub tried to capitalise on the modest metalcore scene in Romford at the time. Johnny Truant also played the Bitter End before they sacked it all off.
@@stg_tmc was that the tour with Stick To Your Guns and Counterparts? I caught them in Edmonton on that tour. Insane show. Doubt they'll ever come back to Alberta though haha

The title is misleading, there is no architecture in this video!
This is false they build sick breakdowns
This is bleagh architecture bro, the new stuf for ur building
Architect here, i have been to many of their shows and we tested the structural integrity of the building each time, it was sound.
