Excellent information. I was searching another issue I am having with my 2004 Vue Redline and thought I'd watch your video. I haven't had the BCM issue although my car is often in extreme heat in Arizona. Thanks for posting and don't give up on Saturn Vue. You may be one of the few people in the country that knows these cars so well, better than the dealers.
Matthew, I own a 2004 saturn vue V6 with no issues as of now. Your video is very informative on current or upcoming issues related to not only the body control modules but the electrical system, as well vehicles from other manufacturers. Great video Matthew!
Matt, great video. My 2006 SA Vue is exemplifying all the symptoms of a bad BCM, i.e., fuel gauge is erratic, door locks are locking and unlocking by themselves, anti-theft light comes on while the vehicle is running, stalling while driving, major jumping when engaging the gear shifter into drive or into reverse and high idle then low, then high. My gas gauge has been acting erratically for about a yr now.....progressively gotten worse in the last few months. Anytime it's between a 1/2 and 1/4 qtr tank, it will sometimes read empty until I restart the car. This has been very helpful! Thanks
I know this is an old video, however, here's a tip... You saw signs of heat on the BCM board. You also saw that the silver capacitor can was swollen. This capacitor is an electrolytic type. They are known to have a super high failure rate. Swelling is one sign of failure. Leakage is another. They also commonly fail without any visual indication. It takes electrical test equipment to find those. It is likely that this cap was the total problem. It shorted the circuit and caused the other components to overheat, too. Another point about this particular cap... It is a type that does not have electrical pins that are soldered through the board. It has solder pads, underneath the cap. This is a Surface Mount Device (SMD) type. They require a little more advanced soldering skills to replace, but it can still be replaced easily. This cap, in a high quality brand, should not cost more than a couple of dollars. Because the board still worked to start the car, I would have replaced this cap and then just kept an eye out for any future problems. I do not think any type of reprogramming would have been necessary. You would do well to team up with a local person that has electronics repair skills, just like you have mechanical skills. Thank you for sharing so graciously. I hope this information helps, as well.
t1d100 Do you think it would be good idea to try to replace that capacitor before ill try to replace the BCM(if that is possible)? I have Saturn L200 and it runs great beside the dashboard th-cam.com/video/ieHsSm-jpM0/w-d-xo.html I pulled BCM and i can see those "wrinkles"...thanks for the advice
@@hobbypower2 I would not give you direct advice. I have the skills and tools, so, for me, I would give it a try. And, again for me, I would replace the main electrolytic caps as a matter of maintenance/age, even if they showed no signs of failing, because it is so hard to dig the BCM out of the car. If you do not have the skills/tools, find someone that does. HTH.
@@t1d100 Thanks for the reply.... it looks like there is just one aluminum cap on the BCM board so ill try to replace that after cleaning all the grounds on the car .... back in the day I saved quite few power supplies for desktop computers and swollen caps were main failure point but those were mainly radial caps .... time to order caps and dust off soldering iron ....thanks
@@hobbypower2 I am proud of you for trying. If you don't have to have use of the vehicle immediately, keep at it, as a learning experience. You can achieve a lot with just a multimeter. Or, take it to someone with more electronics skills and equipment. There is a saying in electronics = "Thou shall check all thy voltages." Meaning, that a good many of electronics faults are just power not reaching the various components. First, check the board for dead shorts... Read continuity from the power rails to ground. There should not be direct contact. Make sure that power is actually reaching the main board/PCB, itself. Then, make sure that the main board is breaking that voltage down into the various needed voltages. Meaning, look for any voltage regulators. Make sure there is power going into them and that an adjusted volage is coming out. Then, make sure that voltage is reaching the components that actually do something... Such as a controller chip, transistor, or amplifier. Watch YT videos to learn. Use proper safety techniques - like draining capacitors, before beginning work and every time the board is powered. I take no liability for anything. HTH.
I bought a used 07 Saturn aura a few months ago & probably the worst decision I could have ever made!!! it’s been giving me nothing but a headache ever since about the 3rd week. It’s been in the shop 3 different times only for the BCM problem to come right back!! Literally Driving me crazy
Mine had the same problem and a used BCM got it working fine (except for the odometer). I didn't realize all the heat damage it had until I saw this video; I thought it was some manufacturing coating. Having the odometer fixed after going though a list of mechanics was disappointing - I was told it would cost $800 and I didn't trust that they could complete it. I bought a Tech 2 and got TIS2000 software and TIS2Web from ACDelco: not recommended if your not a dealer or can see exactly how to reprogram the odometer.
Unfortunately they have discontinued this part so finding one is going to be a challenge. May have to go used and reprogram but I am still trying to find a new or remanufactured one
Hi Matt THANKS A BUNCH for sharing. Got a 2004 Saturn vue red line V6/ 3.5 and has been showing for months a light with a car and a tool wrench inside on the left side of the dashboard, I've been told it means maintenance but have changed motor and transmission oil, spark plugs and after driving it few minutes it comes on. The scanner does not show any code. In a chance would like your advice about it and how to deal/fix it PLEASE 👍
I had to have my 2009 vue towed today because of some simular problems. There was days it done just fine then it started getting worse like the radio and the onstar stopped working at times and the chime would not work or it would be delayed and the turn signal would work but no clicking. And it also wouldn't turn over. The wrecker driver stuck some jumper cables to it and everything started working. Like I said it has not started In the past but if you would wait 5 minutes then it would start but today it didn't work out that way.
Thanks you for post helpfully video,,, I was about to sell my car to the junk yar,,, nobody can figure out the problem in my SUV, now I know what is the problem,, thank you
I had issues with my driver and passenger windows not rolling up, took it to a Chevy dealer that got all the old Saturn dealership customers when they went out of business. Chevy dealer said it was a bad BCM and quoted me $900 for the BCM and $200 to program it. I said pass and found a local mechanic that said the wiring was just shot. A weekend and $100 later my windows worked. Course now the passenger one is wonky again but I generally don't have passengers and it's a 2003 ION so just keeping it for the next year or so because the AC is shot (leak in the system, the local mechanic that did a great job on my windows just topped off the refrigerant and a few months later it stopped working again) and with 200k miles it's at the point where I'd be better off with a new vehicle.
Question. This may sound so dumb but I used to own a WRX so I promise I learned a lot on the fly with that little baby, and I’m not 100% ignorant. So the fuse box in the engine...there are fuses for the ignition and power windows etc, how the hell do I remove those? Is it cool to just use pliers? Specifically I am trying to remove the 30A for the power windows. I’ve check the inside fuse and replaced the relay box so this is my last shot at the power window issue. However...I seriously have no clue how that sucker comes out. I have a 2004 Saturn Vue but I assume it’s a pretty universal approach...🙏❤️😇 - Gina Marie
I hit a deer the other day an had to replace the headlights radiator and fans an.. I was able the drive it home that be morning it's all fixed except. Now it won't start it wants to start only something is stopping it have any ideas with hiding ground wires or crankshaft sensor the oil light stays on when all the other gauges are off
Great video , I just bought a 2005 ion 5 speed. No gas Guage, no crank , no fuel pressure. I can hear a click under the radio and the lock out light is flashing. It has a aftermarket ignition switch in it. I tried the key re-learn, nothing , any thoughts? Thank you for this video , really helps.👍👍
Matt I have a problem with my 2003 L 300 Saturn rough idle will not rev pass 2000rpm throttle position sensor was replaced I did not change the gas pedal
Thanks for this. Same issue on my 06 Vue. Gas gauge won’t move, cranks but no fire. Then hours later it fires up. You ever find out if the dealer had to program the BCM or if there is a workaround for it?
Hey Matt, Please tell me how to get the BCM *OUT* of the slide. I saw one TH-camr said to push down on it and pull toward you. When I do that I can get one side or the other to pop out, but not both. As soon as either the left or right side pops out, the module is on a kilter and in a bind - can't get the other side out. Thanks for your help. Jim
Excellent video - I subscribed immediately. I am in the process of removing the BCM from my 2004 Saturn Vue but have yet to figure out how to physically remove the BCM. The bottom has a tab of some sort that fits into a channel, maybe on the right side only. Any hints?
I got a 04 Saturn ion 5 speed. All my gauges work battery is fine. But it won't crank won't start.. all the fuses and relays are fine. I got power going to my starter. What do you think it could be?
I'm thinking about buying a 08 120k looks super clean what should I look out for? Here in the rust belt the unibody literally just disappeared I'm thinking from the a.c. obv..and it's several I've seen complete section on the back gone..08 with the3.6 vvt do the same?
Hey Matt can that BCM still do it's job with the car now running I have an 06 sat vue it can sit still just idling and radio and dash will flicker of press on the break to take off lost of power there or even just turning the steering wheel...one time I turn the car off hit the power lock to lock the vehicle and lost all electric power then but after 3 Minute's or less the interior lights came back on......Could the BCM be the problem. When ground wires are good and hot wires from battery have no corrosion.....plz let me know wut u think
Great video! I have a 2005 Saturn VUE with 46000 original miles on it. My wife drives it and she says the high beams would intermittently turn on on their own when she was driving the other day at night. That same night, the lights turned on automatically while the vehicle was parked in the driveway (we were all asleep at 2:40 a.m. - from the monitoring camera) with no one in the vehicle. It drained the battery. In your opinion, could this be the BCM or Daytime Running Light Sensor or Ambient Lamp Sensor or something else?
Great work Brother! I’m waiting for my new DELCO/ROLA BCM to get here in 2-3 days. Currently experiencing no start on 1999 Grand Prix GTP. Got DTC code P1626 Anti-Theft no fuel delivery mode. Changed the ignition Switch first but still no start. Hopefully it’s the BCM?
Did the bcm fix your problem on the 99 Grand Prix I have a problem where the radio light goes dim the left side of the dash goes Dim sometime it doesn’t wunna start good and it only did it once but everything was pitched black on my 02 Prix I suspect a faulty bcm
Hello, my name is Jose Ilarraza, I have a 2005 Saturn vue - 2.2 engine, fwd, 4 cylinder, I been having issues with the car.. I have spent over $2500 changing parts, and taking it to the mechanic- with no luck.. the check engine light comes on , I plug in the obd scanner and it gives me a P0300 random miss fire , but I replaced the spark plugs, module control unit, oil change, belts, and still the same problem.. I don’t know what to do!!! Can you please help me??
I’m having trouble with my 2007 Saturn aura XR. How I know the car won’t start is when the gas gauge wouldn’t work before fully starting and the abs light and traction service and service engine light will come on. And sometimes it would start and then randomly while I’m driving the abs light comes on and none of my gauges work and I have to push hard on the gas to go like it’s struggling to accelerate. I’ve almost gotten into an accident because of this. However, yesterday I was stranded at work for two hours cuz my car wouldn’t start but made a single click sound when I tried to start it and then another click when I left off of the key. It’s never done that before so now I’m stuck wondering if it’s really the bcm or a combination of the bcm and the starter
hi matt shaughn i have saturn vue has a problem , how can i contact you or where is your place , so i can bring my car to you. the car is running so i can bring it to you the problem the mechanic said my car need to be reprogram. please reply my message please , my name is Ben . i live in orange county Buena park california, i hope is you are close by from Buena park...🙏
Hm, this looks like a similar problem to my 2004 Saturn L300. We thought it had run out of gas but after adding at least 5 gallons, it still has power but won't start. When you try, the fuel guage doesn't move (not looked at the temperature panel). It also makes a clicking noise after trying. The garage I took it to says it's the ECM that's bad but could it actually be the BCM?
My vue starts blinking for a out 5 mins when you crank it. The radio, dssh lights, inside lights, head and tail lights all blink. The power steering doesn't work either until the blinking/flickering subsides. Happens only in cold weather.
I have a 2006 Saturn Vue that I drove to the store and came out and it won't start it not the battery but it a no crank and no start could it be the ECM
Hi Matt: I have a Saturn vue 2003 that cranks but won't start. I was told that could be the fuel pump. I put both pumps brand new and won't start, but it cranks. What it could be? Thanks.
My Saturn L200 A/C doesn't work. It kept working then it didn't. It worked, then it didn't. Now it didn't come on at all. The running lights will work, then they don't. One high beam works, then NO high beams. Then you turn the key off, turn it back on, the running lights and high beams work again. I had it in the shop 2 days about the A/C and the tech can't find the problem. There's no signal to the pressure switch to kick on the clutch. The clutch is good because he used a jumper relay and it comes on, so the clutch isn't the issue. I'm thinking it's the BCM causing the issues. It actually all falls together if you think about it. On my wiring diagram an A/C circuit is part of the module. I was also told by 2 techs a used 2001 BCM doesn't need programmed because its too old. They said it should be plug and play on that year model. We'll see.
My 2009 Saturn Aura's AC stopped working. Tried replacing the heating/ AC control unit it didn't work. I'm thinking it's the body control module. If anyone has any advice it be much appreciated!
II have a Saturn 2002 L300 145k miles the service light started showing up for 30 sec sporadically , took it to advance auto to search but the code wasn't available,. Then I noticed that the interior lights and lights over the mirror wouldn't work sometimes and now the key fob doesn't want to work and the key acts as though it doesn't want to go in the door lock. Does this sound like a bad body control module? Is the part located in the same place as the vue?
+Harriet McQuay this one sounds at a bit complicated would you like to trade emails or phone numbers? I bet we could put our heads together and figure it out.
Hi Matt, you seem to love tough ones so I thought I would share a problem. 1998 Chevy express 2500 4.3L. 1 year ago started stumbling and stalling in reverse. In a few months it progressed todrive and reverse only in drive it was more of a cold running issue. Replaced thermostat and temp sending unit with no change. Engine started stalling while city driving when coming to stops or near idle with gas pedal. After more time it was flooding out on cold starts and would only start holding pedal to floor and a lot of cranking. Replaced CPS and programmed with no change. Finally got to a point of no start. A friend used a Snap on brick and came up with bad MAF sensor. Replaced and ran good for two 3 mile trips, next day started having same issues. Having said all this the puzzle is after the thermostat cycles one time it runs great with the exception of stumbling in reverse intermittently. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
man its good to see a "mechanical" mechanic. I know you have to have computers, scanners nowa days to work on cars but even with all the tech, there are still no mechanics. most "technicians" don't have a mechanical bone in their bodies. I wish you were in atlanta lol
Desperately need help with my 04 vue so can you plz connect with me so I can ask question bout bcm on my vue maybe get my family vehicle running Matthew
I'm having trouble with gas gauge and temp gauge too. I have a 2005 Saturn Relay . I bet it is a BCM too. Thanks for the input. I wonder if it is in the same location and if it's as easy to access? If anyone has a idea or a site I can reference, please contact me.
Having these same issues ! Ive replaced the key, battery cables, alternator... The keylock light comes on & it will not start. I used to be able to switch the key back n forth and my guages will jump up. I disconnect the battery and reset the conputer and that worked foe a while but now ive had it disconnected firva week NOTHING and swutching my key back n forth kills my battery . This is aggravating as hell
I have a similar problem where there is total silence, it doesnt even try to crank. I turn the key and nothing, not a whisper. I disconnect the battery, re-connect, and it usually starts again. So -something- needs resetting *shrug*
The Saturn vues are definitely junk. I sent my BCM in to get checked at a company online they sent it back and said there was no issues however my fuel gauge and temperature gauge fluctuate and I have no electric power steering. I've already replaced the electric power steering motor, speed sensor, and I'm not getting nowhere
Hi Matt Thanks for the video. Were you ever able to find a company that could repair or rebuild the motherboard of the BCM? If so did it fix the no start problem? I see you have link to amazon where original equipment BCM can be purchased. I was hoping you had luck in the repaired motherboard of BCM. I appreciate your time.
Hey Thanks for quick reply. I sent BCM to the exact company and they sent it back as repaired, they did some soldering to the BCM motherboard. So far same issues and exactly what you showed in this video.
update on this for now- took out all fuses and checked each one inside engine, if any are worn, look even bit burnt or tiny crack this could cause a issue. After replacing practically all the 10A fuse we have a starting VUE. I took time to mark all fuses and printed fuse guide off www.autogenius.info/saturn-vue-2005-2007-fuse-box-diagram/. Used as a checklist. hope this helps. So BBA-reman might be scamming or maybe "soldering" was done within the BCM we may never know. Issues we are having still are interior lighting. I have to say in video you talk about the fuel cluster, this is now functioning once change of fuse that to knowledge was receiving intermittent current from tiny crack. Thanks Matt for taking time to put video up.
It's a used motor out of a 07 Vue I used my wiring harness cause there wasn't anything wrong with it I have the wiring harness for the used motor should I have used it...it wouldn't make a difference would it
You can install a push button wired with a fuse straight to the starter. It will bypass the computer. When it won't start, put the key to ON then use the push button.
yea you can.....However be warned when doing this on a modern vehicle. Bypassing the computer is BIG NO NO and can result in very unpleasant consequences. Bypassing the computer upon start up will also bypass safety mechanisms like the neutral safety switch. If you were to ever get into a accident that involved an injury and investigation you might find your self in serious trouble and regardless of who's fault due to the fact that safety mechanisms have been bypassed you will be at fault and liable for everything.
Great video! I have a 2004 Saturn Ion that will not start in the temp dips below a certain temp. I'm going to try and switch out the ignition switch since my research has shown this might be the issue. Any thoughts?
Matt, I have an issue with the tail lights. When I turn the tail lights on, I hear a clicking sound in the bcm. After replacing fuses and relays, it worked perfect for one day, now no taillights at all. The motherboard has some small burnout by the connector containing the taillight inputs. Change the bcm, can I get one from EBay?
+Boyd Nelson yes you can get a used BCM however the mileage is also stored within the BCM so whatever BCM you buy will have the mileage of the previous car on it and you will have to make a note of that you will not be able to keep your normal mileage or change the mileage the only way you'd be able to do that is if you buy a new BCM and have it reprogrammed by the dealer
I have an 06 Pontiac Grand Prix base.. I've gone through the whole car and disconnected everything electrical cleaned and reconnected all while the battery was disconnected... then unhooked the fuse box cleaned and scotched brighted the grounds and positive connections re assembled it. Replaced the battery, alternator, and starter.. I've replaced the starter and ignition relay. After the relays where replaced I got a service theft system light on the center dash tried doing the relearn and nothing.. I then replaced the locking cylinder and ignition switch and nothing... so now I'm thinking BCM because of weird dash behavior and the car wont start at all and sometimes clicks when I try to turn it over.. I'm at a loss and it's been a pain in my butt XD
you can reset the anti theft by going through a 30 minute step by step relearn process. email me and i can email you the steps. Using a tech 2 computer makes this process very easy. Highgrooveauto30@gmail.com
Hi Does the BCM control the blinkers and the hazards on an 08 Saturn Vue? Also we you shut off the car and take out the keys the radio and lights stay on. Thank you in advance
For the headlights, that could be the auto lamp delay. GM calls it exit lighting. If it is the exit lighting, you just have to go into the vehicle settings and turn it off.
It's getting fuel an I'm trying to check the fire there's no way to check it it has no plug wires it has plug boots so I'm figuring out a way to do that
I am desperate! Pls. Help me. I have 02 saturn ls2. It wont start security issues. My cousin tried to bypass it, it worked for a lil bit. Before we use to disconnect the batt. Let it reset for 2 hours then it will start. But now. It wont reset anymore. It just makes that clicking security sound. I already spent alot of money for mechanics to come n look at it, but no one can tell me whats wrong. I want to just get rid of it because its costing me ins every month. I tried to sell it for parts but no takers (dont blame them) worse it I live in Reno,NV. And the car is in Sacramento. Idk what to do anymore.
Hi Matthew I have a 2005 Saturn vue stick shift 4 cylinder. Pep boys wants $900 to replace ($350 for the module and the rest for labor). How difficult is this to replace and do I have to take the car to pep boys to do the work?
Hi Matthew I have a 2009 saturn vue and my car doesn't start sometimes I always need jumps it say that it running hot but it's not it tells me a lot is wrong with the car but it's really not sometimes I can't even get my key out I bought this car brand new in 2012 I keep up with all the maintenance so I don't know what's wrong can you help me
Hey Matt i have a 03 l300 with a no start issue no fuel no sprk, i cleaned the connections and the base of the ecm but nothing also ck all the fuses and realays no luck, i also notice that the fuel gauge is all the way to empty , could i have a bad bcm? pls help thxs a lot
@@MattShaughnessy6 I myself have found myself in quite a conundrum with my wife's 08 Saturn vue. Could it be possible to have a bad ECM, BCM, and ASB Module? I'm pretty certain the ASB module is bad. Reason being, she went to run some errands n in the middle of them she started to hear a loud winding sound that even when in park n ignition off still continued to come from the abs. What is the abs mechanism comprised of? Could a bad module eventually degrade the mechanical assembly in the abs? Idk if I'm even asking that right...essentially could d malfuntioning electronic part i.e. abs module eventually screw up the mechanical part i.e. abs? I asked that bc that winding noise I mentioned was coming from the abs. The reason y I assume I might also have a bad BCM is bc, I ignorantly removed the battery in attempts to silence the winding noise coming from the abs and, after a few hours I connected d battery up again n got a "no crank" "no start". Checked the battery n volts in normal range but, I decided to jump it with my truck just to be on the safe side, still nothing. I even charged it up 13v n still nothing. However, I came across not only your video but another video from someone else that stated if one has a bad bcm then don't unplug the battery bc d car wont start when the battery is plugged in, one will have to wait until the morning (currently on a trickle charge just to be safe and will reconnect tomorrow after work). In addition, other possible bcm issues; the windshield wipers randomly come on but, wont come on when trying to turn them on via the controls, locks don't fully unlock via key fob. Lastly, the ECM is a bit of a mystery to me. I have had a #6 cylinder misfire for 3yrs. I replaced plugs, coils, swapped coils/plugs/fuel injectors with other working cylinders and still nothing took it to the shop and still they couldn't find the issue, and the crazy part, the check engine light flashes when one comes to a stop instead of when accelerating. Another issues is the gear changing from P to D now takes longer than the normal 1sec now its up too 4-5sec, performance seems to have dropped as well. As you can see this Saturn has my hands full, could you help me in pointing some issues so that I can at least be able to drive the car to d shop. Oh that reminds me if disconnect the abs module would I still be able to safely drive d car down to the shop which is 5 miles in town?
@@MattShaughnessy6 thanks for getting bck to me. After 24hr trickle charge the battery I tried once more n got 0100 code. The computer is not communicating. I took it to a mechanic shop n they said they'll have to take it to d dealer for reprogramming the ecm. But they said that might not help bc if d ecm is bad then they'll hv 2 get a new computer..idk how much that'll cost me i.e. getting a new computer via the dealer. I have heard prices can get upwards in the 1ks range. My questions is, do u know how much the the whole thing might be (ball park range)?
I have a question I have a Saturn Vue 07 2.2l 4 cylinder and my question is were can I find maf sensor if it's not on the air tank I can't seem to find it. And I've been browsing online for days and I can't seem to find any familiar solution can you help
I have 2007 Saturn Vue . After driving it for awhile or going up a hill its like it loses power and doesn't wanna go no matter how much I push the gas . What could be the problem?
no a brand new BCM has to be reprogrammed because it comes completely blank memory for values for things like anti theft. email me highgrooveauto30@gmail.com and i can send you the 30 minute relearn procedure.
Hey Matt I’m curious about something I have an 06 Saturn Vue starts up and runs fine until you put it in gear and then it dies every time could I be looking at a bad catalytic converter any input would be really appreciated thanks
Possible yes. When you put it into gear your are putting a load on the engine. It is possible that it is not breathing correctly or that the electrical system is not pushing 12v to the propper areas like coils for spark.
You could always take the MB to an electronics repair shop and have the components tested, ought to cost around $20 to do a quick test of the board....Maybe another $30 to replace the bad chip or at least the knowledge that the board is 100% of the problem and not the wiring or the board went bad because of a short in the wiring which is probably the root of the problem and will just burn out another board if not traced and repaired...
Excellent information. I was searching another issue I am having with my 2004 Vue Redline and thought I'd watch your video. I haven't had the BCM issue although my car is often in extreme heat in Arizona. Thanks for posting and don't give up on Saturn Vue. It’s good to have people like you that know the ins and outs of cars like this. Manufacturers should be specializing people like you.

@@t1d100 Replaced the cap and no change unfortunately. Cleaned all the grounds that i was able to find....I hope its not BCM not easy to find one.
HTH.
You make my day buddy I have exactly same issue with Saturn vue 3.5
Hey dude! Boise here also born and raised here. Got these same intermittent issues in my wifes 2005 ion 1
I got the same issue 😔
I had to have my 2009 vue towed today because of some simular problems.
There was days it done just fine then it started getting worse like the radio and the onstar stopped working at times and the chime would not work or it would be delayed and the turn signal would work but no clicking. And it also wouldn't turn over. The wrecker driver stuck some jumper cables to it and everything started working. Like I said it has not started In the past but if you would wait 5 minutes then it would start but today it didn't work out that way.
have you checked all fuses in engine fuse box?
Thanks you for post helpfully video,,, I was about to sell my car to the junk yar,,, nobody can figure out the problem in my SUV, now I know what is the problem,, thank you
Did it work
I had issues with my driver and passenger windows not rolling up, took it to a Chevy dealer that got all the old Saturn dealership customers when they went out of business.
Hi Matthew. Do you have a follow up video on the Saturn Vue BCM replacement and programming
Excellent I don’t know shit about vehicles but I learned a lot

Thanks for this. Same issue on my 06 Vue. Gas gauge won’t move, cranks but no fire. Then hours later it fires up. You ever find out if the dealer had to program the BCM or if there is a workaround for it?
Is the BCM in the same location on a 2001 Saturn l300? Thanks for any info. Im having the same issue with mine.
I wish you lived in Wisconsin I am having this same issue on my truck.
So does the dealership need to reprogram them
It's amazing how bad dealer service departments can be. Sometimes it seems they're just trying to run ap a $600 plus bill on everyone they can.
I have a Vue that blew a spark plug. Broke the coil that was hanging out and now won't start at all. Any idea???
Hey Matt,
Please tell me how to get the BCM *OUT* of the slide. I saw one TH-camr said to push down on it and pull toward you. When I do that I can get one side or the other to pop out, but not both. As soon as either the left or right side pops out, the module is on a kilter and in a bind - can't get the other side out. Thanks for your help.

My Chevy Cobalt had the same issue it was a ground wire called g105 to the transmission maybe that might help you

Where can I find body control manual

I have a 2005 vue, they key is not turning the vehicle on, the cluster is the only thing the comes on if I jump it. What could my problem be?
Would this stop your taillights from working?
Great video! I have a 2005 Saturn VUE with 46000 original miles on it. My wife drives it and she says the high beams would intermittently turn on on their own when she was driving the other day at night. That same night, the lights turned on automatically while the vehicle was parked in the driveway (we were all asleep at 2:40 a.m. - from the monitoring camera) with no one in the vehicle. It drained the battery. In your opinion, could this be the BCM or Daytime Running Light Sensor or Ambient Lamp Sensor or something else?

You are awesome where did you get the module ? How do I order one
I have a 2006 Saturn Vue that I drove to the store and came out and it won't start it not the battery but it a no crank and no start could it be the ECM
Nice video. Good info. But, there is always a but, the cause of the overheating needs to be addressed. I am not criticizing.
Hi Matt: I have a Saturn vue 2003 that cranks but won't start. I was told that could be the fuel pump. I put both pumps brand new and won't start, but it cranks. What it could be? Thanks.
We have a 2002 Saturn Vue that won’t stay started it shakes and dies. It will start but won’t stay started. Any suggestions
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
can i get a junkyard bcm and install it?
Thanks for the video! This should get me on the right track.
man its good to see a "mechanical" mechanic. I know you have to have computers, scanners nowa days to work on cars but even with all the tech, there are still no mechanics. most "technicians" don't have a mechanical bone in their bodies. I wish you were in atlanta lol

Hi Matt
Thanks for the video. Were you ever able to find a company that could repair or rebuild the motherboard of the BCM? If so did it fix the no start problem? I see you have link to amazon where original equipment BCM can be purchased. I was hoping you had luck in the repaired motherboard of BCM. I appreciate your time.
try these guys.......us-shop.bba-reman.com/shop/vehicle-makes/saturn/saturn-vue-body-control-module/

What about a Saturn aura 2005 its alrma will go off of I have the doors open even if I unlock with my fob if I don't insert my key

Okay, I was a great

The factory setting for exit lighting is 30 seconds.
it does not "control it" how ever it does provide the interior switches with the power needed to work.

But they said that might not help bc if d ecm is bad then they'll hv 2 get a new computer..idk how much that'll cost me i.e. getting a new computer via the dealer. Hey bud 2006 Saturn vue 2.2 intermittent no start code po1682 fuel gage in op and car outline with a wrench in middle and no rpms
Thanks buddy. My 06 is doing something similar. Can the vehicle be driven with a new bcm but not programmed by the dealer?
no a brand new BCM has to be reprogrammed because it comes completely blank memory for values for things like anti theft. email me highgrooveauto30@gmail.com and i can send you the 30 minute relearn procedure.
hey can I get that from you too....
great video. well done
My mom has the same car the radio keeps changing the horn keeps beeping just started..any idea ...😢😢
Bad bcm
You could always take the MB to an electronics repair shop and have the components tested, ought to cost around $20 to do a quick test of the board....Maybe another $30 to replace the bad chip or at least the knowledge that the board is 100% of the problem and not the wiring or the board went bad because of a short in the wiring which is probably the root of the problem and will just burn out another board if not traced and repaired...
How can I take bcm out ?
