Nice to see the 1st customer to be a family member in the new garage. The old shack was dark and gloomy....I'm sure you are going to appreciate the new big and clean place especially when removing a time involved head on this fairly new turd.
This isn't the first car in the garage, I've already worked on a few other cars👍. It sure is nice to work on a newer car where everything just comes apart without breaking lol.
Hiuundai and Kia has a recall to replace the oil burning engines got someone at my who had 2 motors replaced because of it at no cost. Also had to return because they didn't change out the injectors o-rings Wich started leaking fuel.
@@themechanic6117 There was a Class Action suit. I read where someone had to find an honorable dealer cuz the first one pushed it off and said something similar. Who knows if that part was true though...
Well since it is a direct injection engine it could just be burnt up oil on the valves, but if the valves are cracked on cylinder number two then they will have to be replaced 👍🏽
Wow.... that's BS...! Here in Australia, Hyundai has a 5yr unlimited Klm warranty. Cannot understand why it's different in the US.. Absolutely shithouse😥😡
On this engine though is that fair? The warranty is 10 years or a 100k miles. Over 100k miles on a four year vehicle is high. Just wanted to add some perspective. Hyundai has had more engine problems than most as of late.
The Part 2 of this series just popped up in my notifications.
I was like uh, where's Part 1? Duh? Now watching the entire saga!

Hyundai told my sister there's nothing they can do. I think they attempted a oil consumption test
They told my sister in law that since the oil change was not done there that they won’t cover under warranty the car burns a lot of oil

We'll find out real soon in video #2 👍
My parents got lucky on there 16 sonata paid off just out of warranty and the dealership gave them a brand new engine .
Nice! That's the best outcome
Is that the 2.0 or 1.6 turbo? lmk. Love your channel john.
Glad you enjoy the channel. This car has the 2.0 engine.
@@themechanic6117 okay
The bug 🐞on the floor is called a dragon fly 👍
The name escaped me at the moment but during editing I was like....that's a dragon fly 🤣 I decided to just leave it in the video lol
Great video 👍
Thanks for watching

I'm not surprised that they try to get out of a warranty claim. Anything to save a penny
What's the HOA going to say about that CRX parked out front? 😆
Nothing. It's allowed to be out there 👍
The thing Id be worried about is theft on the CRX !
2018 to 2022 (4years) looks like the car could be under Dealer"s guarantee ....
Not with over 100k miles
You got the Rona Jonathan...?
I don't think so, seemed like a normal fever. Lasted about 3 days. Went away all by itself with rest and basic meds.
@@themechanic6117 I took some advil first day for fever and it was gone after about 4hrs... True story👍
Bad engine design. Typical Hyundai/Kia people buy them thinking "Yeah 10 year warranty" which is a farse.. Used Honda or Toyota would do next time.
We were going to buy Hyundai when we got rid of our nissan but after seeing a few of these engines failures we changed our mind.
