    I freaking love my Ripsurf, the wheels do need to be changed though, I've kept the default bearings but loosened the wheels slightly, gives a better spin.
    This things great for the skate park and it gives me a feeling of being on the waves. I love it.

      Nice man! Yeah I really do enjoy riding mine, but still haven’t tried it as a skatepark. I can see why it’d feel more like being on a wave

      @Daniel Guy yeah man, it flows real good on smooth ground, not so good on rough tarmac though.

    I’ve had my ripsurf for about 3-4 years now I love it I’ve changed the bearings in mine from the original ones to spitfire cheapshots speed bearings and they are great good speed and smooth I’ve ridden in a parking lot that has a slight hill and haven’t come off yet all in all I love my ripsurf because I don’t live near the beach so I ride around town on it

    • @concrete-waves
      @concrete-waves  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome David. It's definitely a fun board to ride! I think switching out the bearings was a good idea. Have you had to change out your wheels yet?

    • @davidziebell1693
      @davidziebell1693 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a bit new to the skater community lol, i looked up the cheap shots but remain a bit hesitant. Is it a one size fits all thing, and do they require a specific tool to change out? Or can I just buy a regular 8 pack?

    I ride that board and it's fun. I went to the skate park and they have a long straight curve like a wave before it breaks. It looks like I'm riding it just like a wave. You go up from the entrance speed and kick your back foot out like a surfer to go back down again.
    I feel the board is more suited like snowboarding. But there's no course to test it. Just like a surfboard too, it needs to be fitted to it height.

    • @concrete-waves
      @concrete-waves  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha same! I would ride my ripstik all the time as a kid. If you’re a surfer, go with this. But the ripstik does give you more maneuverability since it has that metal bar in the middle

    • @fabzfeast
      @fabzfeast 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would you say this is better than the ripstik air pro? Both are 1 piece of plastic but on the air pro the trucks are spring loaded and pop back into place and can only turn so much so I’m worried it might not turn and curve as good as the Ripsurf or OG ripstik

    • @concrete-waves
      @concrete-waves  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fabzfeast Wish I could help you here, but I haven't tried the ripstik air pro before, so don't want to give you any false info. If I had to guess, I'd say the OG ripstik with the metal bar, will give you the most maneuverability

  • @mikthe2004
    @mikthe2004 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, the problem is the back wheel wears quickly. It's best to use at skateparks where the surface is smooth, and yeah, if you hit a pebble or a stick you will come to an abrupt stop!! I'm thinking of getting a surfskate instead for those reasons. I think a surfskate will be faster as well, as I'm quite heavy and the Ripsurfer's thin wheels have a lot of friction.

    Please can you guys do a video of good replacement Ripstik wheels!? Basically no real info about what to get and what to avoid. Also could you guys do a video on the effects of different bearings? Would love to know if I should get looser bearings for an OG Ripstik

    • @LeRoi81
      @LeRoi81 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take good Inliner wheels with 84a - 88a and try better spacers between the bearings.

    Seem you never had learned a better Casterboard technique. You can do more than just wiggle with the hips. The wheels are bad, but the bearings are fine. Come on, you really pose this ABEC argument? You know that this value doesn't really matter. And the 24mm width wheels are an advantage with small stones. Just look at Inliner vs. Rollerskates.
